Highly doubtful since men are to be showered with a slew of 72 virgins...AFTER DEATH.

I've asked on different sites if that's what men get, what can women expect? Haven't gotten even one silly, or otherwise, answer. So...anyone?

Here ya go

www.islamweb.net...

The men in paradise get their divine virgins, the women in paradise get their husband if he made it to paradise. If the woman never married she is provided a husband. The majority of women are in hell, not paradise though they'll eventually make it to paradise after their time in hell is up.

This article is making it LOOK like it's about him wanting people to wear Burkas. It is not.
This is what it's about:

As part of his mayoral election manifesto, Sadiq Khan pledged to ban adverts promoting “unhealthy or unrealistic” body images from trains, both overground and underground, and buses. The Labour mayor was elected last month.

Though, I am aware that people dislike removal of ads for that reason as well. He's worried about his daughters and other young women(unaware of what goes into being perfect for photography) feeling inadequate as women due to the said unrealistic bodies-often by the help of a personal trainer/dietitian, airbrushing, Photoshop, liposuction and plastic surgery- portrayed in advertising.

The controversy about "body shaming" ads is not new to London,

The U.K.’s advertising watchdog received 378 complaints in 2015 about a weight-loss advert that asked customers if they were “beach body ready?” Protein World’s promotional posters were defaced in Tube stations and a petition was started calling for the adverts to be banned. The Advertising Standards Agency (ASA) later ruled that showing a bikini-clad female model was neither offensive nor irresponsible. The steering group will advise the network’s advertising partners and stakeholders of the mayor's new policy and will ensure adverts continue to adhere to the regulations set out by the ASA.

Both ex-texts are from this source.

So what's your saying is he's such a poor parent that seeing an add is going to cause his daughters to have a melt down? And they are insecure and have low self esteem maybe he needs to hire a nany she can teach them self worth.

I concur...and the sheer brilliance of the play. Prey upon the sensibilities of the feminists by using their verbiage "body shaming" to accomplish the most anti-women protocols...the the opening salvo of Sharia. Can the "protective" non-shaming burqa be far behind?

Beware, will the non halal pork/ale/fish&chips be far behind (called out of course in the name "healthy" eating).

Someone, up thread, called it Shadow Sharia. Perfectly stated.

Self esteem issues influenced by media(that is all around such as in their subway ads) is not due to poor parenting. Many well rounded parents have daughters( and sons) with eating disorders. Media as an influence into their deeper emotional and mental conditions that may already persit or it may cause the disorders.

Effects of Media

There is no single cause of body dissatisfaction or disordered eating. But, research is increasingly clear that media does indeed contribute and that exposure to and pressure exerted by media increase body dissatisfaction and disordered eating.

. Numerous correlational and experimental studies have linked exposure to the thin ideal in mass media to body dissatisfaction, internalization of the thin ideal, and disordered eating among women.

. The effect of media on women’s body dissatisfaction, thin ideal internalization, and disordered eating appears to be stronger among young adults than children and adolescents. This may suggest that long-term exposure during childhood and adolescence lays the foundation for the negative effects of media during early adulthood.

So, what about all the men and women that do not want them removed and in fact enjoy seeing gods biological engineering at it's finest?

What about my rights to see the hot chicks on the billboards and buses?

I bet there would be no issue if it was a picture of a goat.
edit on 14-6-2016 by Sublimecraft because: there are plenty of YT vids of goat loving men but apparently it's OK for goats to be seen in public naked?? Weird, I know.

If he is moaning about body shaming..isn't he shaming people who look good and fit?

As a father, shouldn't he be more worried about fast food ads influencing his kids to make bad health decisions verses get influenced to do cardio?

London has lost its mind if they find his views acceptable..political correctness has pushed out liberal minded and instead changed the whole lot into a bunch of censorious, anti society cultish zealots.

I'm not being snarky when I ask this...

Why not explain the duties of the Mayor so people, should they choose to, can inform themselves?

Thank you for making it clear.

The commentators on the first page, i know where you're from. Why the # can people who came from boards like 4chan or stormfront post bulls* here(mostly hate, discrimination without proof) and not getting banned. ATS is getting more and more downhill, like a shining alternative news board to a stupid, idiotic board for close minded individuals.

It is hard to tell how much of this is exaggerated hype and how much of it is realistic, but I do disagree with the idea of covering up to avoid rape from Muslim men. I also disagree with the mayor if his motives for taking down advertisements with scantly-clad women on them is a religious one.

HOWEVER

The New York Times did an article about this here: New York Times

This sounds like a liberal agenda, not a Muslim agenda. The mayor is against the ad because it seems to depict only skinny women as "beach ready." When he talks about his two daughters, he doesn't want them to feel like they have to have perfect bodies. Nowhere does the article in the New York Times suggest that his motives are Muslim ones. In fact, the whole thing easily fits into a liberal agenda and liberal bloggers have even taken to talking about this particular ad.

I'm glad I did some critical thinking and didn't just follow the emotional O.P.

He is using his daughters as an excuse to force islam down people's throats by the slowly, slowly catches monkey method. Its what people deserve who voted for him despite knowing his links to unsavoury muslim groups and people.

Since when did muslim men like their women in beach swim suits? I suspect the muslim swim suit is more to his taste and what his backers want put in - if women must be allowed on the beach, that is. This happened in Iran when families who loved the beach and bikinis were forced by the clerics to cover up. Which indicates a far more dangerous attitude that the body is disgusting and must be hidden or merely a tool of men's lust.

Yet a Christian mayor (Boris) has done EXACTLY the same thing.

Funny how this is all about religious hate, but only if a certain kind.

It is a role of OFCOM to adjudicate on adverts and their representation of women. It is not the role of a Mayor.

OFCOM have forced adverts to be withdrawn when they depict women poorly.

What makes the Mayor's opinion better than that of the regulator?

a reply to: TerryDon79

If Boris had done that then why is the ad up again? You have regulators for this type of decision and I am sure OfCOM are up to the job.

Anyone with a leg of sense knows that many of the adverting posters are adapted technically to get the best possible image and women's bodies are certainly altered.

Censorship needs to be very carefully handled otherwise we get a dictatorship and coming from a Muslim mayor one doesn't need a brain cell to see his agenda.
