Weird happenings in the new house.

I brought this to Ats, for some guidance so to speak.
I can't name the tune, Help me figure out what the shadow is in the mirror, confirm I'm not crazy, and help me figure out if it is in fact a ghost.

Also to share the experience, with others who are also interested in the paranormal as I am.

well the first time I heard it was the next morning when I was going through the recordings.
My first feeling was excitement followed by confusion. The hair on my arms stood up and I rushed down stairs and woke up my husband.

I am still excited, and very confused, but I'm also very intrigued. I don't feel unsafe, or uneasy in anyway, just curious very very curious.

The foundation is a slab so no crawl space.

My cabinets are too tight for a mouse to open one, they have to be yanked open, and pressure applied to close them.
An exterminator was here like a week before all that happening, treating the house and laying traps, not once before or after this incident have we seen mice or other rodents or their droppings, or heard them in the walls/ attic / vents.

The shadow only appears in the reflection in the mirror, you can see the spot that is reflected in the mirror, and nothing is there. No movement, no shadow, no coon/ rodent/ or other animal of any kind. For a shadow to cross in front of the objects reflection in the mirror, it would have to pass between the physical object and the mirror, which as you can see is behind the light in the hallway, and does not appear on camera at all except for in the mirror itself. And again, the dog had just walked up to the top of the stairs, and if there was another animal he would have gone after it none to quietly.

Owls are not parrots and do not whistle full tunes.

It isn't a water or gas pipe, because they too do not whistle tunes/ songs.
The first time the whistle happened was 23rd of May, a few days ago, and we have not heard it since, or even before and at this point in time we have been here over a month.

We also have a new Carbon Monoxide detector installed 3 weeks ago, and again our pipes can't whistle Dixie. As cool as that would be...

Like I said I try to eliminate stuff like that first. When all other explanations have been eliminated what ever is left no matter how absurd is most likely what it is. Think that was a Sir Doyle there.

I can speak with experience on this subject and you have a haunting. I saw a shadow move in front of the mirror and down the hall towards it. I will say that in my experience things that can interact with the physical world are usually not a ghost as in the disembodied soul/consciousness of a human being. That being said, considering that nothing violent has occurred yet and MOST importantly that your Dogs are relaxed in the presence of this entity is a Very good sign. I have come in contact with human spirits that can manipulate physical matter and I think that is most likely what you have at your new home. Keep an eye out for anything aggressive and remain calm and definitely research the history of the home as so many have already advised. Great Post!!! Star and a flag for you.

it isnt a tune i could name either, i think if you find out the tune and where it originated from you could get some clues to your ghost.

is it in any way bothering you or your household? if it hasnt become violent leave it be, like its an extra guest, if it becomes violent try going to your local religion church to discuss it. not that it always works though

I agree that the dogs being relaxed is a good sign.

Do you have any suggestions that we can do to further investigate here in the house?

it doesn't bother anyone exactly, other than the little bit of startle or hair raising feeling I get when I hear an unexplained noise from another room.

main thing i would advise you is do not be afraid, if you get the feeling talk to it like anyone else or otherwise just ignore it like it doesnt exist either way do not show any fear, yeah hard to tell any one there that starts to experience it also though

I don't think even slowed down it is still the song my invisible whistling house guest is whistling.

It's a good thing I have dark shower curtains lol and IF he can fit through the vents in this house then he deserves a little show

S+f for well presented thread,will have a better look at pics+ vid later when i'm by my pc.Sounds like you have some activity there,ya.I grew up in a house infested by negative spirits/entities.Well it was built on an old graveyard,right up against an old deconsecrated church.My father once dug up a human skull in one if our veggie patches,and also a bottle,so old it was one of those bottles that had no flat bottom,but an oval/oblong bottom.That was in a suburb of Cape Town.

As an adult, before we moved to out here in the Bush,we lived in a suburb of one of my country's major cities,in another province than this one.That whole suburb,plus the adjacent one where we lived before that..jesus what a bad place..just thinking about it is depressing-a matrix of such bone-deep badness.I have my own theory about that place,but i'll rather keep it to myself.

In the home we live in now,i have seen a utensil jump right out of the drying rack in front of my eyes and hurl itself to the floor.Once when i was making myself a cuppa tea one night,i felt someone standing right behind me,i turned but there was no one.Next thing i heard something fall on the floor-abd found 2 grocery items had hurled thenselves from the center of the kitchen table to the floor.But i didn't sense an evil presence,just Some presence.

When you said scraping sounds it made my skin crawl. When my mom got a new house a few years ago she heard the same tihing, her loud scraping was accompanied by a howling cry. Finally to make her stop freakin out I took some sage over there. I lit it and walked around and asked that any presence leave because they were scaring my mom. Basically everything stopped at that moment. The house had even been giving me some really bad dreams up to that point. Sage is cheap, its worth a try, if it doesn't work then you lost 8 bucks. Just be nice and semi forceful, tell them that they must go because you have no choice but to stay there. My moms neighbors said the others moved out because it was haunted, ask your neighbors if they knew the previous owners and maybe they know something. Good Luck, your crib looks cool.

The whistling reminded me of both the theme from Dark Shadows and Blinded Me With Science by Thomas Dolby...how weird!

I remember the Blinded me with science tune lol. Thank you for giving me an idea on what song to get stuck in the hubby's head today, it's kind of a game I play.

Dark shadows, I'mma have to look that up.

the more I listen to the whistle, the more I feel that it's an old tune, and that it's being whistled probably without even realizing it.

Haha, the theme from Dark Shadows, "Quentin's Theme", named for Quentin Collins, the vampire lead of the show. I had the 45 as a kid and watched every episode. I think they played that melody on a theremin.

Other than researching the property/area further not really. You should keep doing what you have been doing as far as trying to document the happenings by video and audio. I generally leave ghosts alone if they are friendly. Further down the line you can try to help the spirit move on past the physical world and that could very well be why it's making it's presence known, because he/she wants help. Unless it's lost and doesn't know it has "died" it's hard to say so soon. The most important thing is to approach this sittuation with respect, compassion and confidence and stay away from ideas like profiting monetarily from this situation, bad news all around there. The cameras are working so far so stick with that for now. Later if things increase you may want to speak out a psychic, though be very selective because 90% of the folks that say they abilities are full of Baloney.
