"All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others."

I think that pretty much sums up jobs these days

That's right some jobs do have more value but that doesn't mean people are less than human for doing a job you don't like.

Your a spiritually starved disgraceful human being who represents everything that is wrong with America.

Pfft. Get back to me when you reject Marx.

It has nothing to do with Marx.

Another, "he said something that I can point a finger at and yell communist and that means I win" comment.

I appreciate people who work hard in thankless jobs dealing with #head customers who look down at them while they make less money than they need to survive on.

I really do. I'm glad we have people willing to do that otherwise we wouldn't have all he retail stores and grocery stores and restaurants we all love so much.

Marx preached socialism. Not communism.

Who cares I don't because I don't care about socialism capitalism or communism.

I'm discussing philosophy I'm not using labels to discuss ideas I'm just discussing the idea if you want to try and tie it to previously failed ideology that's tour prerogative.

Not at all. Your arguments are coming from Marx's viewpoint.

And the downfall of them is that not all labor has the same worth.

You hate it, but it's the truth.

Still doesn't make their work equal to other work.

Pay is based on the jobs worth. Simple as that.

I've done the fast food places when I was younger and at school. It wasn't about living money, it was about buying things.

As an adult with an education I've had some very high paying skilled jobs.

Neither are related and only one takes skill.

You should be paid based on skill and abilities. Flipping burgers takes none of those.

If as an adult you're unemployed, flipping burgers is a stop gap, not anything else.

You're the one who brought up communism.

Your idea is not new. It was a prominent feature of Marx's philosophy.

That. Some jobs are just not intended or worth enough pay for an adult.

Haven't read much of Marx, have you?

eta: Marx' downfall is that he embraces the "all labor is of equal value" argument. Like you.

Flipping burgers is a hard hot nasty job and you get treat like # all day and paid low wages.

There is value on the service they are providing you not everything is skill based and we are no longer in an economy where there is enough local economic opportunity for 74 million Americans to get a skilled job.

You guys live in a pre NAFTA mentality and that world no longer exist. Globalization and technology have changed the landscape of our economy and your ideology no longer fits or works and it's failing the worlds economy on every level.

And it's still not worth a living wage. Because not all labor has the same value.

eta: lifting heavy crap all day hurts, too. Digging ditches all day is unpleasant, as is clearing ROW in the summer in the South. And it's not worth as much as doing engineering or plumbing. Or being a really good welder.

Where's a quote where I said all labor is equal value?

Still waiting on quotes from the three of you inserting words into my mouth to try and divert attention away from you ever weakening position.

And I haven't even began using numbers and showing you the real status of the economy you so willingly ignore.

As if you guys know everything.

Thing is, I'm in the UK. We have a minimum wage based on age, not job. For my age group it is £7.20 an hour. I can get that flipping burgers, working as a cashier, sweeping the streets etc. All basic jobs, hence basic wage.

If I went to work as a computer network engineer, that's a skilled job and with it you get better pay.

It's as simple as...

unskilled jobs=basic pay

Skilled jobs=better pay

I could live on 40 hours basic pay a week, but I'd get subsidised and my pay would go up because of that.

If all you can do is flip burgers or work a till then you need to improve your education to improve your job which in turn improves your wages.
