That was actually a Cassowary.
Slightly smaller, yet twice as fierce as an Emu.
(Found in Nth. QLD.)

I had to laugh at the sea of jelly fish, I actually had the experience of driving my boat through a carpet of large orangy jellyfish ... the sound and feeling of the prop. churning through them stays freshly with me.

I live across the road from a beach 32km. Long with sand dunes 1km. Wide, up to 60mtr. high.
Fishing, sand boarding and 4 wheel driving are some activities we enjoy here in God's country.

( Mad Max beyond thunderdome had scenes filmed here)

Ed: That is Whitehaven beach (Whitsundays) in your pic. I have been lucky enough to have been there ... absolutely gorgeous !
