Yah, what is it with the wildlife down under? You guys got the biggest crocodiles ("Salties"), the most lethal tiny little jelly fish, the Funnel Web spider, the Bull Dog Ant… stopping there, I'm feeling a little sick.

That emu picture is glorious. Reminds me of a local incident where an ostrich escaped from a farm and was roaming around terrorizing neighborhood children. The animal control officer shows up on scene, with nothing more than his over inflated ego and sense of self importance and attempted to wrangle the beast into submission. Needless to say, the bird quite literally kicked the "stuffing" out of him.

So wait, that thing crawling up the side of a house is.... what? Because I didn't know an alligator could/would scale a wall. So, it's a lizard?

I look at cassowarys (and ostriches and emus to a slightly lesser extent) and think "how the hell did it take so long for people to realize these things are just feathery dinosaurs?"

I wasn't certain, but I thought the big bony crest on the top of the head came with the cassowary, so I googled to make sure.... I had trouble spelling cassowary to begin with!
