Why is it so important that the Bible be true?

Well if it's colour you are looking for then yes ,there are others that might fit the bill better .As far as odds go ,what were the odds we would be having this discussion at this time ? ....I listened to this vid and found it interesting that you might or might not . Its about science and God as well ....

From my point of view:
The Abraham religion have to be the only true one since it saves by faith that they are right and everyone else is wrong. The eastern philosophies is built on fixing karma being the way so they can coexist and see other religions as the same tool to the same place.

If you remove Paul:s doctrine of saved without works not matter the sin by Yeshua:s sacrifice and only listen to Yeshua then there is no real reason to choose Christian faith since you are saved the same way as the eastern philosophies by the fruits.

There are souls who have experienced things other would call paranormal like empath abilities, synchronicity and energetic body states, laying of hands so being a non believer of human religions and saying they are simplifications that are illogical, do not mean there is not a logical answer to all questions. You can be a spiritual truth seeker who test every tool and see if works and what it's does and do not have to have faith since you also can check the physical manifestations.

somehow the sexless organism evolved and began to develop a "simple" way to reproduce itself differently than its counterparts...

this modification made it "stronger" and it prevailed over the sexless ones.
(there are still organisms that don't need males to reproduce)
somewhere in its development this "simple" modification started to infuse a bit of someone else its "info"

(the first "simple modification" could have been started off because some external "info" insertion happened, imagine the "soup" getting more acidic (evaporation of water) and weakening the cell wall/membrane, less water less space so they got "pushed" against each other, the weakening of the cells wall made it possible to fuse some cells together.)

it survived ("female") and the ones that got infused("male") into the other didn't.
(i know they are not female or male, its just easier to imagine it this way)
a long long developing path began and we can still see this in embryos , we start with the "female blueprint" and in week 8th a male forms because of the influence of testosterone, and it rejects some female "blueprint info" the female follows its original "blueprint"

the clitoris will become a penis.
imagine that the initial modification that infused external "info" now developed to have a "sensor" to spot the best candidate to infuse.

and there you go, this "sensor" became the clitoris.
now imagine a cell desperately looking for sensor input, or feeling around for a better candidate, and enlarging its "sensor" .
now it has the "info" to pass on to its offspring and with that these offspring has better surviving options than the ones without it.
somewhere on the line of evolution it started to "specialize" this modification.
and there you go this, specialization became the penis.

This is what I can't understand, I mean I can understand why you choose to accept it going back to my previous points of why anyone chooses to believe, but you tried to say what I suggested was incorrect which makes me unable to understand....

You accept the bible is written by man, therefore fallible, but you claim Jesus has taught you, which I assume can only be through the words in the bible, those same words which are apparently fallible due to being written by man, not by God, not by Jesus.

It's great that you've found your peace and are comfortable with life on this planet, I wish I could do the same and I've took the open minded approach, read the bible many times but I've not "found" God within those words, to me it's just like any other book, but with words written to try and inspire humans to do good. However I've never needed those words to know to treat others with respect, dignity and offer charity, I'm probably more Christian in essence than a lot of people who claim to believe in the Gospel, yet I find myself still without God. So for me based on my evidence and lack of it, he is not the God we were told to believe in as written in the Gospel and Jesus was not a manifestation of God on Earth, it's just simply a story book with stories borrowed and slightly altered from even older religions.

For me, the reality is God simply does not care about his creations as he's most likely busy on new creations improving from past mistakes, we've essentially been shelved by God if he does exist as a divine creator.

However a lack of faith or belief in God does not mean I don't believe there is not an afterlife, there simply doesn't need to be a divine power in order for an afterlife to exist as it's merely a transition of conscious from this realm to the next.

Historical evidence leads me to believe Jesus was a real person, Jewish texts, the Qur'an, Baha'i texts etc claim him as a teacher, as a prophet. I find the Gospels as an coagulant of a real story regarding Jesus. I am more on board with that then let's say the Jonah story or Noah.

That way we can see what is you are specifically saying isn't true in the Bible but true in the real world.

There was no global flood. Humans can't walk on water. You can't fit two of every animal in the world in a boat. You can't repopulate a species of animal (human or otherwise) with just two of that species. You can't turn water into wine. Bushes on fire don't speak.

When it comes to "Humans can't walk on water" and "water into wine" I am not sure what you are able to do when you use very advanced Quantum Physics so I am not as sure as you about that one not being possible.

With the right calibration on the third eye I would not make it impossible to have a vision of a bush on fire speaking on the internal speakers not thru the ears. Sometimes I wish I could be there when humanity uses quantum physics to measure the senses in a body in real time and at the same time scan different third eye calibrations with multiple people at the same time to see what they find trying to objectively scan the unknown.

So I'm making this thread because I'm curious why you as a Christian think the Bible needs to be true. Not IF the Bible is true, but why you want it to be true.

Speaking form the position of not being a churchian anymore but shedding light on what was taught when I was young…

It's not evidence though, it's words written by men in books of fantasy which all borrow from the same story.

It's no more evidence than claiming Middle Earth exists because it's written in Lord of the Rings trilogy, or from The Hobbit, or from The Children of Hurin, all different books but they're all from the same story.

How were all the animals fed? What did the carnivores eat? Where did all their feces go? What about lions and tigers and bears oh my ?

Where is the evidence that God can turn water into wine? Have you seen it.

What about John 14:14 ask for anything in my name and I will do it. Why doesn't that work anymore.

How about in Matthew when Christ says you can eat poison and not have anything happen. Why aren't all Christians doing this? Also the lack of evidence for healing by laying of hands or prayer is astounding.

As for Noahs Ark, My family lived in Turkey until 1910 at the base of mount Ararat. I discussed this with my grandfather as a child. He was surprised I questioned the story and stated that the Ark was very high up on the mountain and frozen in solid ice. He went on to state that the only time it was visible was when there had been at least 15 years consecutive drought. He said people from our city had been not only on it but also in it. He said it was massive and had sections through out. I dont remember what elevation he stated it was at, buit it was super high. Like the elevation where your body begins to die. The oxygen is too sparse there.
And just how do you presume it got up there on the mountain? it flew? Not!

That was a nice sounding story but if it was that high up in altitude where there is no oxygen then how have people been on it?

I've heard the rumour that the ark is sitting on My Ararat but if that were true we would have evidence from helicopters or planes.

I have seen recent video of it in the past year or two . The video was taken inside of it and matched what my Grandfathers description fron the early 60s. There was also film of the Russian army marching below and in front of it from many decades ago. That footage has disappeared. It is in a millitarily sensative area in Turkey and you are not allowed to get anywhere near it now. Also it has been spotted by out pilots in the past. It is turned to stone, petrified. It may have partially broken in a severe earthquake around 1915 after we left. There are stories that nearby villagers have items and tools they retrieve from inside it, but this was not mentioned by my family. My family were not just some supersticious idiots believing wivestales. My grandfathers uncle was the Minister of Finance for Turkey
