I apologise in advanced for this being a short OP.

I am curios, in this day and age. With what we know about space exploration. Would anyone really get in this Apollo 11 Lander if was told it goes to the moon?

I wouldn't. I would laugh and say;

"It looks like it is made of card, left over Christmas wrapping paper and egg cartons".

Take a close look at the Apollo 11 Lander. It looks flimsy to say the least.

I know space is a vacuum. But I would not get in this to take poo. I would be scared id fart and it would blow apart.

I'm serious.

How but how could that flimsy thing re-enter the earths atmosphere?
Is that a fake photo cos there are no stars? did it land yet?
The curve of the moon looks quite steep.

While I think the OP is claiming that the lunar landings never happened. I think he's also bringing up the idea that the integrity of the craft would keep the astronauts away.

Well consider that the mindset of the men getting into the Mercury capsule was a gung-ho attitude and you may begin to understand their thinking.
www.bisbos.com...

These men sat with the engineers to ensure their faith in the designs. These men watched rockets explode in testing, knowing that they would literally be sitting on the largest non-nuclear explosive that the US has ever made. I wouldn't them suicidal, they were risk-takers. They knew what was at stake and weighed those options.

Yeah, the LM was light, because shells and dressing and paint is heavy, so it wasn't pretty. Neither was the Lunar Car, but they drove it. The visual attributes are actually more proof that they went. Why design a fake, ugly lunar module. Make a sweet pretty one for your fictional movie.

I've always noted its flimsy appearance but, considering it had to be designed, tested and built in a matter of less than 10 years?

I mean, seriously, if it was a fake to pretend we went to the moon, Hollywood could have... and likely would have offered up something akin to the little service vehicles from 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Nope. This LEM was tossed together and sent to space... and it worked.

Reverse psychology....you got stupefied.

Oh wow look it's a 'we didn't go to the moon' thread! In 2016! Apparently people still fall for this old hoax.

Qwerm even brought up the old canard of no stars in the pictures. That's an excellent observation! Luckily it has been answered a million times before. Here's an old thread I found where the first reply answers the question:

www.abovetopsecret.com...

Of course to moonhoax believers, googling, finding and comprehending such an answer is an impossible task. So it seems at least. So I suppose we should embrace ourselves for a barrage of questions tha have also been answered a million times, long ago.

As for the OP: There's a reason why they (NASA) chose to only have very SMART people on the moon missions. So don't worry, you don't have to go in the lander and fly it to the moon. After all, to you it looks just like a flimsy eggbox. I guess that tells us something about your mode of thinking. If all you have is a hammer, everything starts to look like a nail, right?

Seems often the biggest non believers are the ones who haven't done much investigation on the program and equipment.

Just a quick look at some pics and then certain it must fail and therefore is fake. I'm glad that isn't the way reality works.

Nice try, but as it stands that egg box would burn on re-entry.
How many would spend a day in that -in a North American Desert with no water?

It would, but then, it never was designed to do that. It was designed to land on the moon, and the top half was designed to fly back into orbit around the moon. That's all.

Nice try.

You're quite right, it would, but only two ever did.

See if you can work out which ones, and why.
