I'm an ex muslim living in a muslim country that's popular for terrorism and other stuff in the news.
Yes about 20℅ Muslims probably are bat# crazy psychos willing to do terrorist activities, but the rest are just normal people.
I think Islam is a vile ideology that should be completely abolished because of how harmful it is to a culturally brainwashed muslim. But aside from that , Muslims are like any other person. For many Muslims religion is not their defining point. Its just a label for many muslims. If you get to know them then you'll realise they're just people, although they're willing participants in tacitly supporting a crazy religion.
So yeah, you might be less paranoid about all muslims if you just learned a few basic cultural tells and tics to help you judge whether a muslim is normal or bat# crazy. But if you can go your entire life without interacting with a muslim, go for it.

Sorry, I think you did miss the point. He was saying that all Muslims could wear a badge, not terrorists. It's referencing another time in our world history when a group had to wear a badge, identifying them as Jews. He was being sarcastic, of course. It's not a good thing.

Should we make them wear a badge, thereby making it easier for citizens to identify the people they must assume are dangerous?

i have heard some dumb ideas in my day but wow dude. you really think if someone is a terrorist and we tell them to wear a badge that they will wear it? they may say yes but guaranteed when they get home they will be wiping their ass with your badge. use your noggin.

You miss the point entirely and yet have the nerve to call me dumbass.

Way to go, dude.

i see the point, youre a moron. thats all i need to see.
we should give you a moron badge so you can wear it with pride.

Please be more specific when you talk about the Bible. Show me just 1, not even 2, point where it says that we should hate others or even "deliver the message" as sHuRuLuNi said.

a reply to: sHuRuLuNi

"deliver the message" means kill? "deliver the message" means do suicide attacks? "deliver the message" means massacre? "deliver the message" means show disrespect to others' beliefs? "deliver the message" means destroy churches and chapels? "deliver the message" means destroy Holy Images? Cause this is what the Muslims near me do for a month now.

There is a huge difference between judge and speak the truth. I do not judge, i speak the truth. According to every single Saint of Orthodoxy, Islam is yet another religion of devil. I believe it and this is why i say it.

Unlike the ones i blame, i only speak. Have you seen many Orthodoxs do massacres? Have you seen many Orthodoxs do suicide attacks? Personally, i have seen none.

Just curious.

Before you really get carried away, you might want to pick up a history book, because you really, really missed the point. I believe the operative quote is "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."

And if I may, it seems to me that the OP is merely stirring the pot, and standing back to watch the results. He's started a couple of similar threads of late...and for someone who, in his profile cites his mood as 'Mischievous', we might just want to shelve our dudgeon and high indignation. Some folks just need to get out of their pajamas and get a hobby.

Fear is understandable. But this op’s abysmal ignorance is the kind of attitude that breeds groups like the Taliban and ISIS.

If people can't look past fear and bigotry then well never solve anything.

Well for a start, if you are basing your one in five figure from the crap that got circulated by Rupert Murdoch's rag, that has been ruled to be misleading by the UK Press Regulator

The Sun's UK Muslim 'jihadi sympathy' article 'misleading', Ipso rules

Now lets address the rest of it.

As can be seen from these actual statistics 51.7% of serial killers are white people.

31% of public mass shootings WORLDWIDE happen in the USA

This article from Huffington Post belies your predjudices

As a matter of fact, Americans were more likely to be killed by a toddler in 2013 than they were by a so-called “Muslim terrorist”.

Are you living in fear of all those things as well? Do you want to get rid of white people, gun owners and toddlers?

If you wish to stupidly live in fear and make false assumptions, listen to right wing propaganda from extremely dubious news sources and ride the kool aid train then that is to your detriment.

May you should try to actively educate yourself with facts on the subject from sites that aren't run by Rupert Murdoch, can be tracked back to Breitbart, or are associated with far right elements, or so-called "patriotism"? - here's a clue, if, on the first page, it mentions saving the middle east's only nuclear armed country, or rips into the Koran in any article, or has bible quotes plastered all over it to the detriment of every other religion, then its not likely going to give you a balanced viewpoint.

Shame gun owners don't get treated like muslims.

After that 'mass shooting' bull crap link.

I guess it's perfectly acceptable to be a gunphobe.

The problem is I can't tell the difference and there really are 10-20% of Muslims who will kill you or worse because of their ideology.

Yah, okay. I think all metal heads look the same, too. Theres no telling how dangerous they are so mistrust all of them.

(sarc off)

If a majority of terrorist attacks were committed by metalheads I'd be all for it.

They already do wear some badges you just have to know what to look for. For guys they always have beards that look like a rats nest of pubes all over their face. They don't do any beard maintenance at all and don't know how to look decent.

This next one goes for both men and women. They stink. Now I am not saying this to be offensive. All humans stink, the thing is we use deodorant. They do not because they are against it and bathing in general.

This is not about all Muslims, this is about the extremist type. Not all Muslims have this, but all the extremist ones do.

Well, if people really told the truth instead of trying to be politically correct, I'm afraid you'd find a lot more people agreeing with you.

I don't socialize with Muslims because I don't know any, have very little exposure to them and don't travel in the same circles.

But I have traveled to Muslim countries and felt safe (Turkey, Morocco) and enjoyed myself. In fact, I figured I was more safe in a Muslim country as far as terrorism goes than I do sometimes in an American airport.

And since 9/11 was especially traumatic for me, I sometimes feel a little nervous on airplanes when I see someone I assume is Muslim by their dress.

But something interesting happened last month: I sat next to a Muslim couple on an airplane. It was like a teachable moment for me. You know, there was at first this whole thought process going on in my head: Muslims dressed as Muslims on an airplane.....9/11 fears......stupid of me to feel that way but can't help it....remember that horrible day....etc. etc.

But I purposely made a point to talk to them..... and we had a pleasant conversation.

I turned to the gentleman at some point and asked him what he did for a living.... and he's like.... I'm a neurosurgeon in Florida.

Okey dokey.

Lesson learned for the day.

No thanks, not reading the Quran.

I haven't read the bible either, by the way.

Religion has always been the downfall of humanity. More people have been killed in the name of God than anything else in this world.

ok. but a recent poll said that while only 14% of muslims polled, in muslim nations said that they favor deliberate strikes against civilian targets. However 50% of americans polled said that they favor deliberate strikes against civilian targets. if we are gonna go on population percentages then clearly it is we americans who are the dangerous radicals

Maybe we should make them wear stars on their sleeves so we can all identify the easier. Then, we could concentrate them all in to camps of some kind, to protect the rest of us, of course./s

Your numbers are way off. You are just relying on whatever the news tells you. The only terrorist are ones that believe in Wahhabism. A incorrect interpretation of radical islam. Real Muslims are not violent. Not even your 5% estimate. a reply to: Metallicus

I had a similar experience in hongkong in 2008, i was waiting for the scary steep as hell tram thingy that takes you to the top of Mt Victoria and there was this Muslim guy also on his own, he had a bit of a bin laden look going for him....like you i made a point to talk to him and he was a great guy,we hung out for an hour or so had a great conversation..that was certainly a point in my life that made me look at things with more curiosity ...
