Minimum wage increases are eventually going to impact people who earn more because their dollars will be worth less.

Just my opinion on minimum wages.

The rest of the markets value is determined by how high the floor is not the ceiling.

The higher the floor is the higher the ceiling not vice versa.

Also wages are not the only variable involved in a businesses expenses just one of them.

This wouldn't be an issue if these #heads didn't sign trade deals and tax the hell out of us to give other people free # instead of incentivize them to participate effectively.

If given the opportunity to do so.

I didn't explain clearly.

Sorry.

If there is more currency in the market, then the value of things will have to increase in order for the profit margin to remain at the level that it was.

That means I'll be spending more for the same things I am currently purchasing.

Go look at the profit margins of all the major companies in the world they are astronomical.

Capitalism has been flawed from the beginning and will lead to socialism every time because the wealth will always work its way to the top.

You acquire more wealth your ability to acquire even more wealth increase. It's imbalanced and can't continue forever.

Sorry that you believe in it.

You are confusing a Corporatocracy with Capitalism.

You are either misinformed or being disingenuous.

Corporatocracy /ˌkɔrpərəˈtɒkrəsi/, is a term used to refer to an economic and political system controlled by corporations and/or corporate interests. It is a generally pejorative term often used by critics of the current economic situation in a particular country, especially the United States.

Instead of raising the minimum wage which will create hyper inflation, why are we not bitching about our manufacturing jobs that have disappeared since slick Willy and beyond?

Steel mills was the start. Since then go to Wal Mart or any other retailer and ask them if they sell anything you want or need made in the USA!!!!

The service industry is just that, service. Anyone can do it! The whole "Living Wage" is a lie created by the corrupt politicians who don't have the balls to tell us, "Yea, we sold your asses out to the Corporations who moved overseas!"....

There's a Time article I was reading saying that the Government owns 128 Trillion in the Land Holdings they have both here and offshore because of the minerals, oil, gold, etc. Of course those resources are all still in the ground and cost money to get them out and process them but still. 128 Trillion is some serious coinage and that article was from a few years ago.

There's also a few Trillion or so simply sitting offshore already in Corporate Shelters as well. That doesn't require any processing to get either. That's just sitting there liquid.

I know exactly what your saying.

Why would higher wages devalue our currency?

Higher wages strengthen the economy.

Agreed!

But it's those who sold us out to the Corporations who implanted this whole "living wage" nonsense into those gullible enough to believe it!

Bring back our manufacturing jobs! That was the life blood of the middle class and also the goal for those who were poor to step up into a better job?

Some places, the economy is based around a $7.50 wage floor.

I am not making near minimum wage, and you are proposing that the local burger flippers should suddenly make more than I do.

I don't think I'd keep my job if that hike were suddenly implemented. So please, keep you minimum wage hike and stick it somewhere dark.

Sorry I don't want to live in a country where millions of people are living in poverty.

You like seeing people in poverty go to El Raqqa or Karachi and leave the US.

I don't want slaves working for me I want happy people enjoying their job with a decent home life providing me a service I appreciate.

Sick of the #ty attitude towards your fellow man. Go to Saudi Arabi.

What are you going on about? Nobody wants to see anybody living in poverty and nobody is talking about slaves. So I really hope this is not a personal accusation directed at me. I always paid my employees what the job was worth in the current market, plus provided extra benefits. I am not against raising the minimum wage btw, but you have to understand the burden $15.00 per hour puts on the small business owner. Minimum wage jobs are not supposed to be career positions. They are for beginners.

So you want slaves running the farms and grocery stores for you?

I'm not misinformed the corporatocracy manifest from unmitigated capitalism as it always will because as you acquire more wealth your ability to acquire more wealth and increase your Marin's grows.

I've already gone over this and I'm right and your wrong sorry.

I've flip flopped on this issue over the years but as I get older I find myself just wanting people to be happier with whatever lot in life they have. If that means the dollar menu becomes the $1.50 menu then so be it.

If higher wages strengthen an economy, then minimum wages would have increased a long time ago. Businesses thrive under a strong economy. No business wants a weak economy.

also, what is too high a minimum wage.

If 15/hour is good for an economy, would 40 dollars/hour be even better?

All of these folk screaming for a living wage are the same who shop at Wal Mart.

The same ones who HATE Multinational Corporations! YET! By demanding a $15 dollar minimum wage? They are being willful idiots to the Multi Nationals they hate!

Who will close their businesses if they can't afford to pay $15 and hour? Sure as hell won't be the Big Corporations! Funny how the Wal Mart haters are collectively becoming the same threat to small businesses that Wal Mart was and is.....

If 15/hour is a good minimum wage, what are the people making 14/hour going to do?
