Does anyone else have their own self imposed rule on ATS - mine being I can't post when tired.

I can get pretty bad anxiety sometimes... there have been a few times now where I go to reply to something, write and edit and delete and restructure sentences for a good hour, while constantly refreshing the thread to see if anyone else is going to say what I want to say... and then just not post it at all, regardless of if anyone else has brought it up.

So my personal rules:
1) if it takes longer than an hour it doesn't go up.
2) re-read at least twice before posting (and still end up having to edit it minutes later, woops)

And, -definitely- no posting within the first hour of waking up! My blurry eyes and fuzzy brain!

I must irritate the moderators of the aviation forum at least once a day. That's my rule.

I do my best, but he's a tough cookie to crack. If all else fails I can always post another Chapter of the D.U.D.E Chronicles. That should do the job.

I also try to make sure to reference the TR-3B at least once weekly. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

These aren't really rules for me but rather guidelines that I go by when creating a post.

1. Opinions are not facts

2. Arguments are not discussions

3. Insults are not necessary

By keeping those three things in mind when creating a post, my time here on ATS has been mostly uneventful.

Oh the unknown criteria can get you.
Back when they still had the chat feature I couldn't figure it out til someone mentioned how many posts were needed to obtain admittance.

I don't use funny names for political figures or political groups. I try to not use the words for groups at all...if it is possible in the post I am replying to.

Yes I agree on that one with avatars. I try to keep it positive.
Insulting comments about someone's avatar just doesn't make sense.

I try to not reply to threads while under the influence of alcohol.

I fail just about every night of the week.

My rule now is to avoid getting involved in politics. There's no solution, it gets heated and is no fun. Another rule is to be positive to my fellow members. After all, they're giving me knowledge and laughs for nothing.

I agree and stay completely away from the political forums.
This place is great for free laughs. I'm never bored here.

Thank you for dealing with such bullies.
I've tried but end up making the situation worse.
I do feel it's better to speak up in those situations.

Just wait til the summer I'll say I'm naked sunbathing posting. Hoping I don't show up on GPS satellite imagery.

When drinking i go on ultra patriotic diatribes, while meaningful to me they can come across to passionate and jumbled. So, I try not to post when drinking but always seem to find myself here regardless. My other rule before the Misses ran off, was to not post when she was around as she would make fun of me and get upset about the time not spent with her, ATS won , I am still here .

I haven't had a drink in ummm ... almost 6 years.
For no reason other than it makes me ill.

Maybe some night I'll get drunk and post just for kicks - they'll probably post ban me again if I do that.
