What thieves?

What happened to working hard and trying to move up in a company, or maybe start your own?

It's called Personal Responsibiltiy.

I am where I am, (good place or not), mainly on my own fruition, my own path that I chose.

It's not other people's fault, it is completely my own. The beauty in this thought process is that I can actually change my own life path! Not expect other people to pay my way!

Sounds crazy, right?

The point flew a billion miles over your head, it seems. I don't need to answer this question because you're making an assumption that isn't going to happen.

To explain this in a simple manner: The question is stupid. And what the hell do you mean "run out of other people's money"? Are you expecting Sanders to bring in forced acquisition?

ALL of our paychecks will be getting bigger, in purchasing power, as we get rid of the plutocrats and parasites that are sucking us dry.

I feel sorry for you that you actually believe that. You seem to think Bernie will just wave his magic wand and everything will just instantly be better. I really don't think you understand politics at all.

The ones who are ripping off $TRILLIONS from everyone else on the planet. THOSE thieves. The .01%, and to a lesser but significant extent the .1%, and to a still lesser but significant extent the 1%.

Ehh, it's not quite so simple. For instance, I wouldn't call Oprah, Harrison Ford, and professional athletes "thieves". Overpaid, perhaps, but that's my personal opinion. The thieves are the Koch brothers, the Waltons, the man who held an entire country's economy hostage. (I think it was Argentina?)

Not even close! On the contrary, I would not expect Sanders the POTUS to accomplish much at all, initially, legislatively. The main purpose of Bernie in my view is to open the door a crack to conversation. As things stand now, there is literally no discussion at all of the things that are important: militarism, MIC, empire, prisons, creeping fascism, corporate welfare, corruption, etc. With Bernie, there is the possibility of conversation. The MSM would be FORCED to give airtime to important issues, because the POTUS is talking about those things. Then, change becomes possible. Right now it is impossible.

At the very least we'll get someone who fights for us, no? Politicians haven't been fighting for the people since... Well, I'm not even sure since when, it was so long ago. JFK, probably.

At the very least America will have a President that isn't an international embarrassment. (Talking about Clinton here, not Trump, by the way.)

No, of course Oprah and Harrison Ford are irrelevant. Small bit players on the big stage.

Yes, Kochs and Waltons come closer. They are players.

It is not even about individuals, though. It is about a system that is structured in such a way as to concentrate wealth in the hands of a few -- regardless of who in particular those few are. The names can change; the structure remains. Just like with the government, elected officials change but the permanent state lives on. Even after "throwing all the bums out", you've still got a major problem.

This why my blaming of the ".01%" etc. is problematic. It describes reality in a way, but an inadequate way, I admit.

It's a simple formula, Hitlery's doing it to.

Promise able-bodied people that should be working FREE STUFF.

How's it "free stuff" if we'll all pay more in taxes? Even the students will pay more in personal income taxes, especially after they start careers after college. The difference is, they won't be crushed by student loans, high healthcare costs, and low wages in the process.

Free stuff?

No we want our government to use it's money more wisely, no more welfare for wall street and their friends.

It is not about free stuff but rather, getting back from the elites what we and our families have paid for!

Tax the rich!

Thet won't go hungry!

The government can't spend our money well!

I know... let's make it more powerful, bigger, and give it more money!

No, we'll all be crushed. Socialism guarantees equality of misery.

Answer the question and stop making assinine assumptions about fellow poster's age and political leanings.

What are you going to do when you run out of other people's money?!?

Not one Sanders supporter on ATS can answer this simple question...

We won't, because the taxes proposed aren't that high. My taxes won't go up at all under T̶r̶u̶m̶p̶ Sanders, and neither will most Americans.

Instead of inciting people to coat bullets with pigs blood, we might be able to keep people out of bankruptcy over medical bills.

That's the thing. There are a lot of overpaid people, and conversely a lot of underpaid people.

The people making all the money pay and lobby to have laws passed to keep themselves rich, keep the poor downtrodden and finance propaganda to convince the poor that the rich are benevolent, generous overlords.

From movies, books, music -- it's everywhere. YOU TO CAN BE RICH! American Dream!

The American Dream is long, long dead. It's dead, been crucified, cremated and blasted off into space. The Horatio Alger myth that got the American Dream crap all started was in response to freed slaves after the Civil War.

What better way to keep a huge group of newly freed slaves under control? Convince them that they too can become wealthy and successful!

Its how you control the unwashed masses, you convince them that they are somehow richer than they are -- that there's hope for them in a hopelessly rigged system via cultural touchstones and mainstream media.

I have to disagree. Trump supporters are sick of the establishment. No candidate is calling out the BS better.
We need a cut throat fat chopper at this point. Not a cute old man.

Bernie is as cut throat as you can get, one cannot be a career politician their entire lives without being so. The difference is that he's personally quiet and humble (those are always the crazy ones) compared to say Cruz and Trump who have crafted brash public images full of rudeness and non PC attitudes as a way to say they're going to bring change.

These programs will be paid for with tax dollars, meaning he is taking money from someone to give to someone else.
