Free stuff?
No we want our government to use it's money more wisely, no more welfare for wall street and their friends.
It is not about free stuff but rather, getting back from the elites what we and our families have paid for!
Tax the rich!
They won't go hungry!

THANK YOU.

The "entitlement complex" is on the part of the rich, who feel ENTITLED to a ridiculously-large fraction of the wealth of the world WHICH THEY DID NOT CREATE.

See here; a rich guy who GETS IT:

The only people who repeat this "free stuff" mantra over and over again are conservatives. Most liberals and DEFINITELY most Socialists understand that the costs for social programs come from taxes.

And of course the "tax money" diverts right back into the bank accounts of the Administrators and middle-men.

Trump is just doing the same sh#t as always, looking out for his profit. If you think Trump cares about anything other than himself and his money, you're nuts!

I wonder how much free stuff he will give to himself and his rich buddies?

Thanks for your reply.

Anyone who comes out of NOWHERE, starting from ZERO, and now, 10 months later, is in a dead-heat tie with the massive Clinton machine, IS WINNING.

Bernie didn't come out of "nowhere."

Bernie has been in politics longer than Trump or Hillary.

None of them work because the government always finds a way to mess them up with corruption.

You are missing the bigger fish in that accusation and going after the bait. The reason gov't is corrupted is because Corporations and special interest groups with deep pockets owns the gov't not the other way around.

The gov't isn't the one calling the shots , its the Oligopolies in charge that are calling the shots. Just about every regulation that is past is drafted by the lobbyiest dream team of lawyers. Our politicians simply robosign them. That is why you get Pelosi saying you must past the bill to understand whats in the bill.

Govt officials need to raise millions for elections and re-electiosn and half a billion to run for office, then they have to play nice to get positive endorsements from the Oligopoly endorsed GOP,DNC, and MSM.

However the bigger reason why gov't is corrupted is because the masses are not concentrating solely in the biggest issue we have which is corruptions.

Instead the masses are focused in irrelevant political ideals and the symptoms of corruptions like healthcare , economy, SS,racism, sexuality, debt, war, etc in an Oligarch that is working just fine for the people that draft the laws in this country.

So While I do not believe socialism is a good political ideology under a corrupted system, I would support Bernie Sanders over the other Oligarch candidates: Clinton,Rubio,Cruz. Bernie at least has made corruption his number 1 issue and focus of his campaign while the others haven't .

Also Unlike Trump who failed the political litmus test and has a 50/50 chance of doing some good or going full retard tyrant , Bernie socialist views has no chance getting past congress. Congress is already corrupted and has an oligarch in place and becoming a socialist system would be a step back for the current system.

Bernie will likely bring a lame duck congress and the only good he will do, which is the very first step in cleaning up our issues is to bring focus to Corruption.

You can't fix corruption until you bring focus to corruption and you cant bring focus to corruption until it becomes issue 1 at a political level.

Bernie is the only one that is bringing corruption to the forefront as issue #1 while trump blames China , mexico, and Muslims.

The other candidates will only bring positive changes for the already Oligarch in place, and business as usual while we the middle-class keeps getting hit harder.

This is why I created this thread despite thinking socialism is not the answer especially under our existing corrupted system.

Having said all that , I'm not sure why the OP thinks Bernie is winning? actually I think because the system is rigged and to many lobbyist are making money of Obamacare that Hillary will become our next president sadly enough.

Additionally, I dispute your claim that Sanders is leading the polls - almost anywhere.

Also this thing I keep hearing repeated where Bernie is the best choice because his socialist ideas "won't make it past Congress.."

Do you Bernie supporters all go to the same elementary school where they repeat this nonsense every day? Even if this is true, why would you want to elect a lame duck president who won't/can't get anything done at all? It makes zero sense to vote on someone because you feel Congress would block them from acting..

Yeah, there is definitely a large amount of people in the US that are unsuccessful and want everyone else to be the same. Heck, I used to be poor. With a battle plan, daily checklist completion and sacrificing the junk I don't need, I was finally able to succeed.

I guess there would be less lobbying from Hitlary, not.

Because a good portion of Americans are below average intelligence

I like how when any candidate is winning, it's always because "most American's are below average intelligence".

No matter how many times candidates are in the lead, or which candidate is in the lead, the reason is "Americans are below average intelligence".

Get over your presupposed, inflated self image. Just because people don't agree with you doesn't mean they're idiots.

If you can't see that, then perhaps you should work on your own critical thinking stills yourself...

Bernie was nowhere, 10 months ago, and HRC was widely believed to be a shoo-in.... and for good reason. She has massive money behind her. What Bernie has done in that short time is little short of miraculous. Donations limited to $27?! Miraculous.

Good question.

The answer, IMO, is that Bernie will shift the Overton window, allowing the conversation to move back from the far-right space that it has been lurching toward for decades. Things are so far-right now that the DP is on the far right, and the RP is so far to the right that they've fallen off the scale -- like they've almost become a mob of fascist barbarians. What we need is to pull the conversation back to some semblance of normal, and Bernie would allow that, whether or not his particular programs would be ratified or not, initially. What we need is a path to recovery from the disastrous rightward lurch that this country has been on for decades, and the path begins with conversation.

PS: And, I might add, Bernie has already changed the conversation to some extent -- as I write in a message just a few posts down. He has ALREADY won to a certain extent, though it would be much better if he went on to the presidency.

most importantly, more so than anything else, his unwillingness to bow to the leash of big business and the banks. People are fed up with corruption of our leaders and their worship of big business and the all mighty dollar which makes their decisions for them.

Honestly at this point things are so screwed up, I don't care what the candidate is as long as they aren't a slave of TPTB.

I believe this is spot on. The Bernie bashers LOVE to repeat all those "free stuff, more welfare" sound bites, they squawk it over and over like stuttering parrots. But govt corruption, corporate tax avoidance, outsourcing of jobs, failure to hold any of the incredibly rich CEOs/market manipulators legally responsible for the 2008 market collapse, deregulation of housing loans...

These are all things that Sanders would definitely stand against, and they are things that every American who understands what's going on and TRULY CARES ABOUT OUR CHILDRENS' FUTURE would stand alongside him in defiance. A vote for Bernie is mostly about giving a big double middle finger to the status quo of politicians and huge corporate entities pleasuring each other under the table, while the working class gets it from both ends. So stop saying a vote for Bernie is all about wanting FREE S#!T.

Unless you're one of those uber-wealthy bankers, I suppose.

THANK YOU.

Most (duped) people don't know that the whole anti-big-government meme was deliberately cultivated in the American mind in a well-organized, well-funded style, all supported by wealthy elites. Reaganism/Thatcherism was the start of it, followed by subsequent waves. The effect was to vastly increase corruption, as the government checks on private sector corruption were dismantled.

Having said all that , I'm not sure why the OP thinks Bernie is winning? actually I think because the system is rigged and to many lobbyist are making money of Obamacare that Hillary will become our next president sadly enough.

Bernie is winning -- already HAS WON, in a sense -- because of what he is accomplishing against all odds. Bernie has already had a positive effect on the conversation, which of course could be much more positive if he did go on to win the nomination and the presidency. He has shown that people -- especially young people, who are obviously the future -- are rapidly becoming FED UP with the corruption, the waste, the free-s**t-army-of-ultra-wealthy, etc.,etc.

Remember what Reich said, from my OP: "It's surging because that movement is intent on un-rigging our political-economic system. That’s why millions of young people are joining it. That’s why it is the most positive force in American politics today. And that’s why it cannot be stopped, even if they manage to slow or even stop Bernie."

Check!

The real way Bernie is winning is because when all is said and done and after Killary takes the nomination.... he ultimately hasn't lost anything and has gained by raising his notoriety and will cash in on speaking fees and probably write a book about the whole experience.

One further thing: I speak of what Bernie has done "against all odds". Keep in mind that the MSM has been crazily prejudiced against Bernie from the very start. They refuse to cover his rallies, they refuse to give him (more than token) airtime, etc. Only recently, as his insurgency has gained obvious mass momentum, has this let up to some extent. TPTB DO NOT WANT people to be talking about inequality and massive private sector corruption and all the big important issues! That's why they ignored him. But they can't ignore him anymore, and it is likely that they cannot ignore the big issues anymore. The people are starting to FORCE the conversation onto what is important. THAT'S PROGRESS, FOLKS. Whether or not Bernie wins.
