What I object to is that somehow Islamophobia is now worse than anti-Semitism or Christophobia.

Obama tends to use this as a reason to vent his passive aggressive dislike of the rest of the country he purports to represent and lead. You know, never miss a chance to chide those bitter clingers.

He ignores that according to FBI data, anti-Jewish hate crimes are still the highest year after year in this country. So why has he never visited a synagogue and done some big speech about anti-Semitic actions and speech and hatred there? Why no chiding of Americans against "Jewphobia"? You would think if he were being fair and wanting to have equality he would.

And why no anger about the ongoing genocide of Middle Eastern Christians? Not really heard much about that one, either.

What does that have to do with what I said? The right wing is the one doing what I said. And yeah, some self proclaimed Muslims commit crimes. How's that any different than any other demographic? By the numbers, the vast majority of murders, rapes, robberies, domestic violence cases, frauds, suicides, abductions, and every other crime in America is committed by self described Christians. I guess we should ban Christianity & churches too then, since clearly they're not preventing their followers from committing crimes.

These aren't just any crimes, these are acts or plots of terrorism.

Actually, I read somewhere that most felons tend to vote Democrat.

Why would Obama go to a mosque and talk about Christians and Jews?

Good ole Think Progress...

No mentions of Anwar al-Awlaki, as he was mentioned as a former member that this mosque was linked to. Got anything better?

Smear campaign, ha! ThinkProgress needs to re-think.

To be more exact, Muslims in America are "getting the crap end of the stirring-stick" from America's right wing. The left wing isn't the one that's constantly trying to pass anti-Sharia laws,

You don't see an anti Sharia law as a good thing? Why, because it would prevent implementation of Sharia law, or what?

Freedom of religion means that I have just as much of a right to practice my religion as an Amish person, Hasidic Jewish person, or any other religious follower. Banning it is clearly unconstitutional. Who are you or any other people to tell me it's illegal for me to pray, to give to charity, or to fast during Ramadan? Because all of those are requirements for Muslims under Shariah law. Shariah law also forbids us from lying, stealing, fighting except in self defense, paying & charging interest, having sex outside of marriage, getting intoxicated, and a lot more. The Qur'an also gives women the right to divorce, to an inheritance, and to alimony from her ex-husband until she gets remarried (none of which are guaranteed in the Bible).

All of those are examples of Sharia law too. The Qur'an even directly states that any of us who intentionally kills a believer is going to Hell. And that we should simply tell non-believers "unto you your beliefs and unto me mine". But since most of you have never actually read the Qur'an, I'm sure you wouldn't know that. I absolutely love my religion and would never follow anyone's declaration that practicing it is illegal. You can all headbutt a wall for all I care lol. I'd still practice my religion, even if/when "Sharia law" is declared illegal.

I did read it. It's silly. Islamophobia is DEFINITELY real and it is DEFINITELY the fastest growing type of hate crime in the country.

Plus Obama was talking about Americans and things affecting them. Why should he talk about Christians halfway around the world? Their situation is unfortunate, but they aren't Americans.

Because a Conservative is now doing it, and it happens to be against the worst president in American history, and that president happens to be a liberal.

I got that you are desperately trying to smear this mosque with no credible evidence. There's that.

PS: Countering thinkprogress with Fox News. Lol.

Oh right. I forgot that the annual 10,000+ murder victims here are acceptable as long as someone doesn't say "Allah" before killing them.

The problem is when Muslims demand their own parallel court system to operate exclusively by Shariah. Principles of Shariah are not the law of this country. We cannot have two legal systems, not and have everyone equal under the law.

Practice Shariah, but understand that the country's law supersedes. If it can't, then Islam and America are not compatible.

As soon as one of the Republican presidential candidates slams Bernie Sanders for being Jewish, or claims that a Jew isn't qualified to be president because his religion is in opposition with American values, or that Jews should not be allowed to immigrate and Jewish tourists should be tagged and monitored whilst within US borders, I'll agree with your sentiment. Until then, it's just sour grapes and empty resentment.

*sigh*

People have always been divided, and already were divided.

It's just easier to use Obama as an excuse to get away with more bigoted and bad behavior.

"Obama made me more divided!"

Um...you do have control over the things you say and actions you take, right?

Like obama cares about Christians... All he's worried about are minorities that he thinks white people treat differently. They can treat everyone different, but better not be no whities treating others different.

I notice how you conveniently left out the jibe about Jews this time around. In other words, you missed the part about making a speech in a synagogue ...

Shows how much attention to detail you actually pay.

The point is that Jews still face more hatred in this country. But Obama has paid them NO attention that I can recall.

And when we are to accept Syrian refugees, they are nearly exclusively Muslim despite the genocide being perpetrated and all the other religious minorities in the Middle East (Christians, Yazidis, etc.). So that would be my dog there.

You must be one of those muslims that like to play the victim card.

God forbid we look out for the best interest of the American people. You're the dog that bites the hand feeding you.

Yawn. You're also the poster who didn't know that the Confederate Constitution has 10 passages that guarantee the institution of slavery. Or that the Confederates even put slaves on most of their currency to highlight their ties to slavery. Or that the Confederate Constitution protected the domestic slave trade, while guaranteeing Confederate slaveowners the right to keep owning their slaves even if they moved to "free" territories.

So you'll just have to excuse me if I don't take your opinion very seriously.
