Sounds awesome! I'm in!

The other thing has to settle before i can answer. I am reading a book called "the vision of a godlike human" no kidding and it is just as crappy as the title promises...

I was....ummmm joking around?

Well mostly.

So alien gods who created and destroyed humanity are real and no reason to be alarmed, but a "serpent" can't be real and would be incredibly alarming?

Just checking.

It is still possible to connect in some way to ancient sites, tends to help if you can manage to keep your mouth shut though...

Oh.
I said I'd listen to you, not talk, but ok.

Is she Venus, like Astarte? Planets tend to wander alone unlike constellations, so that would figure how she could sit under the bowed tree (Pleiades) once in a while.

There are no Alien Gods, i was talking in terms of the Seven Sages tradition, they aren't part of the Sumerian Pantheon, their descendants were the scribes, again not part of the Pantheon, Sumerian Deities are considered omni-present and all pervasive.

There are real serpents, there are real metaphysical and symbolic associations that can be made with regards to serpents, but weird entities i don't concern myself with because i've never met one and i wouldn't want too either, i'd just think it stupid, in fact i'd send a memo to Enki, Please do not create any more stupid entities...thank you

Did you see my Descent of the Dragon Queen thread by the way, i've not only covered Quetzalcoatl flying around on a magic flute but his sister also.

No i meant i'd tend to keep my mouth shut...

Well, It's all good to be dour and serious about metaphysical things...but my god people need to lighten up IMO. If you can find a little bright corner of laughter, seize upon that!

There's far to much seriousness in the world as it is. We have to be able to laugh at ourselves and at one another.

Never, ever take yourself to seriously -- don't let life slip through your fingers without having some fun.

Serpents are often used as a personification and metaphor for space and time and potentially more fundamental things than that.

In Shamanism, Tantra and Kindalini yoga serpents are used to discuss deep truths about both body and mind.

From what I know, those serpent references are at least 200,000 years old. That's why I like them.

But everyone uses a different reference system obviously. Its a matter of taste.

Good advice.

You may not know it...but there are no limits to how deeply I clown around and demean myself to get a laugh in daily life. You only see a little of that from me here on ATS.

I will drink to that.

I read your post and couldn't stop laughing - I had visions of you backing away, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas style. But yes, to talk about these things you have to get over yersel, as we say. God knows, we need more joy in this world.

ps - I have to over-emoticon, being a dour Scot at heart, just to clarify that I'm happy and not snarling, as so many of my posts have appeared in the past.

That is the worst advice I have ever read, heard or psychically absorbed. You are in error.. .ERROR!

Or not... but seriously (or not) I have taken that Foolish philosophy a tad too much to heart and am thus a pile of occasionally amusing silliness... but don't discount the serious folks who actually get things done in the world...

true, most of the best ones are capable of, and know the value of, silliness, but they have a level of serious expertise and can thus afford to have a laugh or million.

Just sayin' as a not-so-serious-non-expert from the edge of the eternally laughing funny farm.

Well Melissa is having a good time at my expense today. About 15 minutes ago, a powerful "resurgence" started flowing in me.

I guess I get to see now if I really am all that in my understanding of this process...or if I cut my other thumb off with the power saw again.

Maybe it will just calm down.

Was he? As long as he wasn't a Campbell, we'll be fine.
(joking)

Generations of Scots children have been taught "never trust a Campbell."

Do you know whereabouts he was from?

Another "errant" bee came in and buzzed my face before going back out and on her way... and the synchronicity and psychic/coincidental flashes have resumed today with a vengeance.

I don't perceive any obvious physical or psychic reasons why that would be, but there it is... several stray thoughts that are followed by the person calling or strange mental words echoed by NPR or TV in the background.

Maybe we're all intertwined through the tubes and tunnels of the Internets? Actually, I am a firm believer in unseen connections at a quantum (or other) level, so ... yeah...

How 'bout that Super-Bowel (conflating black and brown intestinal sludge with U.S. football holiday for no particular reason)?

Now the "Free electrons" can be puzzling alright. All I know is that "critters" that cause actual physical motion, fires, shocks, and a plethora of other high strangeness need some sort of "power", that can be manipulated on the quantum scale.. electrons, ions, even smoke particles..

The above is related to a recent 'conclusion'/theory I've come to - which is derived both from Baddogma's high strangeness experiences 'and' my utter lack of such.

Now, I don't think this is entirely 'it' - As I do think there is a distinct matter of some people are able to 'see stuff' some are not...but also -

- I think climate might have something to do with it...specifically, the drier the climate - the more likelihood of high strangeness manifestation.

See, I live in Central Florida, one of the most humid places in the country (almost all year around, too), and it occurred to me that it's not just that I never experience 'strangeness', but really you just don't hear about any of that kind of thing going on here...

...Anyway, I had been thinking about that, and then thinking how you hear a lot of stories of high strangeness in places out west...then while reading the 'conversation' with Baddogma about "dust" being a possible factor in phenomena-

- it hit me...I think it has something to do with static electricity...

...I mean, I think that there is probably a correlation between how easy it is to generate static electricity in a place and whether the place would be 'capable' of manifesting high strangeness -

- or rather, 'whoever' does the "manifesting" finds it easier to do so in dry areas than humid ones.

Ooookay, well that's incredibly boring compared to everyone else's contributions

All I know of Scotland and inhabitants comes from the flicks, like Highlander, Mel Gibson's blue face, or the withdrawing junkies and ceiling crawling babies in Trainspotting... and there's the products and Madison Ave's tape, whiskey and, of course, plaid.. .okay, and some folklore, history and Nessie... and the Edinburgh ghost biz... and the little terrier who sat on his master's grave for decades.. .and... and.. .a little punk rock lass I met who rocked my young world on night back in the good ol' days.. but I guess I'm saying I've never been there but wanna...

hmmm... I think I had an Aphasia episode.. .or my fingers typed while my brain took a siesta. Sorry!

Where were we... oh, Scotland! heh

Nonsense about boring... it's not and might actually have some truth, but I immediately think to such beds of high strangeness I know of that are dripping wet with water of all types.. .England, my original environs of Illinois has an unusual amount of strange as does New York's Hudson Valley, off the top o' my head...

But you are on to the correct idea of some physical correlation (and thus scientific) between this stuff ...
