I read about that in our newspaper
seems a great idea, but for it to work they need hundreds of thousands of people to have it
for a few seconds warning.
Step in the right direction though.

last eleven eight* locations

* there are eleven, just that the screenshot didn't catch 2 over by Charing Cross. The screenshot programme is preset to a centre location so that I get the same map each time, only the icon locations vary.

It is good to see he is still following the strong quakes. Quite handy having that "related" link near the bottom of the page.

I enjoyed reading this well researched 5-part fictional account of the coming Cascadia earthquake. It is told from the perspective of a Portland, Oregon resident. It hits home just how disruptive this event will be.

Link to part 1.

Just wanted to reiterate, this is science fiction; as in, based on good science, but hasn't happened...yet. It is not a prediction for a large earthquake in April.

indeed
I guess it's time for an update
www.02.ign.es...

These are the 43 earthquakes since the 5.2 of 15/03/2016 04:40:38, seems to be quite widespread, 45.9 km (28.5 mi.) north to south and 20km west to east.

This compares with the whole series since Jan 21, same dimensions NtoS, but 50km WtoE.
So rather than a "new" quake with aftershocks, I'd say the 5.2 is just another M5 in a "swarm" of 5's and/or in one big massive "swarm" of 1877 earthquakes that started on 21/01

The Fives
1. 21/01/2016 13:47, 5.1
2. 25/01/2016 5:54, 5.2
3. 25/01/2016 6:10, 5.1
4. 22/02/2016 3:46, 5.1
5. 11/03/2016 4:16, 5.0
6. 15/03/2016 4:40, 5.2

BTW when I talk about 5.2 , it's IGN's estimate of the 5.6 lurksoften posted

I missed noticing this one on the 14th, due to focusing on the M5 at Yarra River (Hamner Springs) same day.
I only noticed it when I was updating the Pegasus Bay afftershock series (now at 31 days)
Check out the depth !!!, The quake is near Windwhistle on the Eastern side of the Southern Alps, west of Christchurch.
I don't think I have ever see a quake that deep in that area. But I would have to check to be sure.
