The Weather Channel is showing 'Secrets of the Earth' tonight.
Part of it deals with human induced seismicity.
Oklahoma injection wells, Hoover Dam, etc.

Don't know how many minutes of it is that subject alone.
Only got to see a few minutes of it, but what I did see was interesting.
Looks like it's repeating all night.
It's worth a look see!

Good Morning,

I watched it too. I have seen it a couple times.

It also talks about the Salton Sea, and the hazards there. There is a geothermal energy plant located in the area. They inject water deeper into the earth than fracking.

This is the area of the San Andrea's that is,sp as they call it "Locked and Loaded" One of the geologists say this area is "Ten months Pregnant"

We are really playing with fire there. When that area goes off, it could set off the whole San Adrea's.

Good show.

That's one big artificial earthquake. What's the world record?

I like this next graph. It's the same earthquake but the graph is having some personal issues.

I don't know how to take a screen shot, but you all can imagine it is in the middle of the fracking fields.

Thought some might be interested in this article from the weather channel.

Third strongest earthquake for Oklahoma.

I could see myself, in New Zealand, Never really been through a earthquake..... I would probably be peeing in my pants, not able to move.

Good lord, You have the gonads to get on roofs.

My hat's off to you. We don't have a hat, so a medal to you.

largest aftershock so far 4.0 (actually 3.9935)
www.geonet.org.nz...
That link to the vids, shows Godley Head Riccarton landslide into the sea.
Looks quite rocky along the coast there, so no bathers on the beach. TV One News interviewed a group of Surf Lifesavers who were doing a practice and almost got hit from the falling debris. They dived into a cave for protection.

I started it's own page, I'm calling it the Pegasus Bay 5.7 because its a bit further out than the New Brighton 6.0 of 23/12/2011 (which was also in Pegasus Bay, but got called the New Brighton 6 by the locals.)

thanks crappiekat, we are pretty far away here in the North Island.
You got to feel for the Cantabrians (Christchurch residents), I think the psychological damage will be worse than the building damage from this one.
They were well into the rebuilding and probably thought it was all over from 2010-2011.
I was working with a refugee from 2011 quakes on Friday, he said he isn't likely to return there any time soon, has made a new life here in Wellington.

Looks as if the software got turned up to 2000 micro volts which is what caused that mess. The data is OK as the IRIS graph for the day shows.
