Don't feed the trolls they get bigger if you do.

OhLord do you really feel that way? Your hardly even worth pity and won't ever garner respect.

The pervious generations faught, died and protested so you can be the prime example you are today. They have provided every freedom and luxury you enjoy.

I hope your just trolling but either way your a loser.

Shame on the older generations more like for being so narcissistic self absorbed and for eroding the moral foundations of society by not setting a proper example.

On behalf of all "Millennials"

WHAT DID YOU EXPECT!?

so to paraphrase...."it's not MY fault".

That is consistent with my experience of Millennials.
Says someone who uses as an avatar one of the most irreverent, self centered, it's not my fault, I can do whatever I want and get away with it characters in modern cinema.

I have an extremely wrathful side. I neither want or need any feuxsympathies.

Young people arent what you had expected? Stop bitching about it online / to your mates and do something about it.

Ive heard this bull# my whole life.

Young people not meeting expectations of older generations is nothing new.

There's a subtle hint in that.

Just a general note:

I have never had someone at work approach me and whisper, "Have you heard about John? He and his wife have been married for 30 years and are still happy." I have only ever heard gossip about marriages that fall apart.

In some ways, Millennials are like Marriages. You almost only hear about the "trouble makers."

Remember those bunch of idiots that stormed the library recently and started yelling and screaming at the students that were studying? Well, THOSE kids that were studying nobody seems to acknowledge.

I'm not letting Millennials off the proverbial hook, as I have plenty of issues with that demographic (as I do with my peers and the generations that proceeded me).

First of all, why don't you do something about it....it's your generation not mine.

Second, I haven't complained (I'll use a grown up word instead of your choice) one bit in this thread about your generation. I simply stated my opinions.

I simply agreed with the opinions of the posters that replied to you. Am I still entitled to that opinion or, does it offend you in some way?

Let me tell ya, you got nothing on me when it comes to wrath if you catch me on a wrong day. I can 100% promise you on that.

So, I'm not sure why you came at me like that but, it's not going to help change my opinion of your generation one bit.

I'm done with you....

Have a lovely day

The more right minded have been writing about this phenomenon for quite some time, but it has usually fallen on deaf ears. These books are worth a read:

Illiberal Education - Dinesh D'Souza
The Closing of the American Mind - Allan Bloom
Intellectuals and Society - Thomas Sowell
The Disuniting of America - Arthur Schlesinger, Jr.

It's not about millenials. They are only doing what they've been taught to do.

It is no longer an issue of race, gender or sexuality; it is now an issue of freedom and unfreedom.

Go back to reading your local newspaper each Sunday and see how many of these stories you hear.

This is a good point, kinda of like when something happens with cops we hear about how in the grand scheme of things it happens very rarely.
I do agree with the idea of a bad apple spoiling the whole bunch but we act like this type of thing happens every day on every campus.

Yep, I fit a few of those groups. I'm an American and was in the U.S. military, so I get slammed for that here. You have the muslim threads, the christian threads, the sinner threads, and now these Millennial threads keep popping up talking about how all of them are lazy, whinny, POS's that feels entitled to everything in life...lmfao. So a few privileged kids whine about things, the media turns it into a frenzy with their motives and then the posters on ATS eat it up. Just so many hypocrisies from the posters in this thread, I don't even know where to start. Just wondering what the hell is going on lately. What happened to the ATS I used to love? Seems like a site to just spew hatred lately.

To paraphrase:

"It's none of my responsibility"

This is consistent with my experience of pre-millenials.

I agree with you. It's the education system that has produced this phenomenon.

First of all stop comparing me to your own idealised self image. I would say reflection in the mirror, but the reflection you and I see are not one and the same.

Second your ignorance is what offends me.

And third I don't belong to a generation, no one does. We are human beings.
It's as simple and as complicated as that.

Finally no individual is going to solve anything. It's a collective effort. Trying to delegate from a position of authority just proves you shirk responsibilities which leads to the problems you then moan about to your friends / online. Young ppl r not stupid.

I have no issue with that, what so ever.

More power to you, in fact.

If I ever have children, which at this stage in my life is rather unlikely, that's, if at all possible, how it will be.

That way I control the curriculum, and the thinking behind it.

In the case of younger school age kids? There is some validity to that.

For these college kids, or young adults in the work place? Not so much.

Why should ignorance offend you? Ignorance is a lack of knowledge...so? Teach, thereby solving not only their ignorance, but maybe in the process your own.

Get too busy being "offended", and the opportunity is lost.

the older generation are the ones who raised these kids. why aren't we putting the blame there, or at least acknowledging a role?
