He's constantly saying awful things. So far, the only camp he hasn't attack are white men. Just imagine if any democrat said the same exact things he's said, how much of a poop storm there would be about it. He's even alienating himself from the Republican party.

Besides all that, look at some of the things Trump said during this fiasco: On the video...

The poor guy. You’ve got to see this guy.

and in his "doubling down", he says,

If Mr Kovaleski is handicapped, I would not know because I do not know what he looks like.

Yeah, right, Donald.

I think that's his plan....Trump will bail out of the race soon claiming "health reasons" and pave the way for Jeb; the real GOP candidate. Brilliant, in a surreal political circus theater kind of way.

The other option is for Donald to make a 3rd party bid, but he would have to start from scratch and form his own party. The Libertarians think Trump is a simple media clown. T party perhaps. That would be interesting.

And this...

The Daily News isn't going let Trump off the hook.

Reporter Serge Kovaleski, whom Donald Trump says he’s never seen before, spent the day with the billionaire while covering his 1989 airline launch for the Daily News

The reporter Donald Trump claims he's never seen before says he spent a whole day with the bombastic billionaire while working for the Daily News — and he's drawn Trump's ire before.

Serge Kovaleski, now a New York Times reporter, said he closely covered Trump's launch of an airline in 1989.

"I spent the entire day with Trump, along with some other reporters, on the inaugural voyage of the Trump Shuttle, which Trump bought from Eastern Airlines in the late 1980s," Kovaleski told The News in an email on Friday.

“Flying out of La Guardia, we spent a big chunk of the day flying up and down the east coast with Trump chatting with me and the others on the plane."

"Trump held press conferences in Boston and Washington, D.C., during each stop. And there was a big presser in New York, of course — all of which I covered," he said of the shuttle launch day back in 1989.

"The following day, when my story ran, Trump was furious," he said. "The story, to the best of my recollection, lead with the fact that the flight left 12 or 18 minutes late on its first voyage even though Trump had run many ads saying the Trump Shuttle would be the most on-time airline in the industry."

"Trump and the guy who was running the Trump Shuttle for him ... called me the day the story ran and Trump started screaming over the speaker phone about what a piece of sh-- the story was,” Kovaleski said.

Then, there will be actual people to back up the reporter's claim of a personal relationship with Trump, maybe some video, oh wait, no... they don't have that, only a disgruntled reporter's word for it, ok, I understand, not.

It doesn't matter what his relationship was with the reporter. He knew what he looked like.

He said : "You've got to see this guy."

I can't believe there are people actually buying Trumps ridiculous spin on this.

He's a massive egomaniac. I don't see him bailing anytime soon unless something catastrophic brings down his numbers and maybe not even then.

And what could possibly happen at this point that would bring down his numbers? Maybe if he ran naked through the streets of New York covered with glitter shouting "there is no god but Karl Marx."

This man is a joke.
Long time ago when he had a reality show I was disgusted by him.
I've never imagined someone will even take him seriously as a candidate. It only shows that money is everything in this world.
US must be in a much worse place than I previously thought.

I really like some things Trump says.

Then sometimes I have to remind myself to close my mouth.

What's next....We taunt orphans ?

Don't worry, Jeb will show up and claim his birthright and rightful seat.

The rich will sure have a lot to chortle about next year in Aspen.

Does it matter? Presidential elections are such a sham. The electoral college gets to decide in my state. Presidential candidates can promise everything and deliver on none of it. President Obama promised to help get GMOs labeled, then he passed the Monsanto Protection Act.

It's all such a joke. I just don't see the point of voting for a president.

It seems more like a reality show for the public's entertainment. Which is why Trump is leading in the polls.

Last election killed my interest in presidential elections. Obama (the proven liar) and Romney (the obvious corporate whore) were the two candidates the MEDIA picked out. Meanwhile Ron Paul, the only guy with a slight sense of passion and honesty, was blocked out by the media unless it was a small news segment that demonized him as a nut.

I have absolutely no faith that this election will be any differnt.

Yes it does matter because it shows you what kind of person he is.

Elections a sham? I agree, and hopefully those in control will never let this clown be their puppet.

Those in control are mocking the masses by the current pool of candidates, but many people are to slow to even realize it.

The elite in control are laughing their butt's off, because this is all a game to them, and the only thing the masses are worth to them is sweat equity.

Just curious who you're defining as "the elite in control." There is quite a bit of on the record and off the record reporting indicating the Republican establishment is in full panic over the prospect of Trump winning and that this is all coming out of left field.

So who would be behind Trump in your opinion?

Partisanship is only a ploy to divide the weak-minded.

The elite that have control pay for both sides. Pick door number one, or door number two they are both manufactured, payed for and install by the same group. The illusion is that people actually have a choice.

Yes, I'm sure most of us here believe that to one extent or another. But that seems somewhat generalized in this case.

I think part of what's going on here is out-of-control blowback from years of cynical manipulation by the Republican party.

They had no problem exploiting populism, nativism, religious dogma and even racism to elect establishment conservatives but now they have an actual populist and nativist who is out of control.

Here's a thought.

My British friends. How embarrassing is Prince Phillip? Would this guy be any different?

prince Philip has no political power so its just sad and funny.

The idea of someone like that holding power though is scary.

...not as scary as the idea of someone like you holding power. Fortunately you're just a dime-a-dozen forum troll whose obnoxiousness is limited to littering ATS.

Go Trump! Nice to see a guy being a guy. Guys make fun of their best friends for something their friend can't help at all. Guys are like this. If anything, this makes Donald Trump seem even more like a real person, not a politician.

The political correctness in the US has gone insane, so what if he made fun of someone? Who cares? Everyone should just get over it, grow a thick skin. The NY Times should do the same. We used to encourage people to be tough, sticks and stones. Not anymore.

ISIS is sawing people's heads off and raping little girls. Go yell at them. The Liberals are trying all their tricks to get Donald. Hopefully Donald keeps his balls and doesn't turn into a whimpering, apologetic cry baby.

Being a guy and being a dick are two different things. This has noting to do with having the balls to not be "politically correct". His billions and the fancy suits can't hide the fact that he is a brute. He's absolutely unqualified to represent America as POTUS.

Trump is tactless, classless, and brainless. That he's taken seriously as a candidate, by anyone at all, completely baffles me. I don't think I fully understood the meaning of the word "surreal", until this all happened.

He's not quite so smooth as the career politicians, otherwise known as murderers, liars, tools, whores, dirtbag criminals who have betrayed the citizens of the country and the world for personal gain. He is up front about who he is. It's not that he's a good man it is simply that he does not pretend to be a good man.

Americans had their chance to elect a true statesman of integrity who understood implicitly the intentions of the founding fathers and the tenets of the United States of America. His name was Ron Paul and he was marginalized, attacked and defrauded out of his election. That the American people chose superficial banality over intelligence, rationality and integrity signaled the hopeless doom of the country. The Americans last chance ended in 2012.

This is in no way an endorsement of Donald Trump. It was over for you people years ago. You failed and yours cries are merely your death throes as you realize your fate.

I'll admit Trump is a bit of a jerk, but he's a special kind of jerk. He's not going to skirt around a subject or kiss anyone's butt, so he comes off a bit more blunt than a baseball bat. But in that way, he seems a bit honest in that particular regard. The thing he was doing might have been his way to poke a bit at somebody's B.S. where they turn and hide behind their handicap anytime they make an excuse. Again, intended again more as a poke at a person than their disorder.

The people you really have to watch out for are those that talk through their teeth. They'll put on a smiling friendly face in public, but in private they're like 10X worse than Trump in this instance. And there's a lot of 'em in politics, and I'd bet more than a handful of Trumps competitor's campaigning for president would fit that description.
