It looks like Joan Rivers.

I think it should have its own bathroom...problem solved.

Are you trying to be funny by using the pronoun "it"? Is it REALLY so hard to call her a "she"?

I don't want to be a killjoy, but isn't there a definition of your gender being redefined if you have gone through the surgery to have your gender 'officially' recognised as having changed? If the 'she' in question has had her gender officially changed to female, the answer is 'she' should use the ladies bathroom. If 'she' has not then technically 'she' is a 'he' and I would have thought it's up to the establishment in question to decide whether or not to make an issue of it.

I'm not quite sure why the photo is that funny, if 'she' has had gender realignment, 'she' wouldn't be using a urinal would 'she'? Personally, if you think the only people who might be taking a peek are transgender folk then you have lived a sheltered life.

NOTE: I've put the gender in quotes as I think in cases like this, a man with physically male attributes but believes he has a female gender identity is still a man from a physical aspect - sorry. From a psychological point I may argue differently, but there you go.

Obviously, one can't do sexual organ verifications before someone enters into a restroom. Personally, I really don't care. I have been hit on by women and men in the past. So, obviously it doesnt matter what gender someone is. Yes, women have stalls for privacy. Mens rooms usually do too. Personally, I think let them go in where they are most comfortable.

Yes we have stalls. But I'd rather keep the urinals, honestly. I can't even imagine having to deal with the lines that you ladies have to deal with. Forget all that noise.

To be honest, I think it is obvious that 'pervs' already don't give a hoot about laws to begin with so no, I don't see the statistics rising. Women and girls will have the same risks irregardless.

Oh, I think a few sickos might view it as an opportunity.

Clearly the only solution is a colostomy bag for transgenders .

What solution is the transgender community wanting or expecting?

1. Being able to use the female bathrooms?

If so, what about offending women and children that might not feel comfortable with having a trans-gender person with them in the bathroom?

2. There own bathrooms?

Is it reasonable to expect business to pick up the tab for a bathroom that will likely be seldom used?

Actually, I think this will be the most effective in terms of making everyone feel comfortable and possibly doable without much infrastructure changes.

I see many business with two bathrooms at minimum. One for men another for women,

Perhaps make them gender neutral like the family bathrooms that many places already have in smaller places. This could be implemented overnight with no additional cost for many establishments.

Depending on size of business make it a requirement to have in additional family room which many places often have as well.

Then we can finally have kumbaya

To be honest, what's to stop someone from doing that now? Even dressed as a guy, I can walk in the women's bathroom just as easily as the men's bathroom.

Right. So why don't we just eliminate male and female locker rooms, bathrooms, etc. and have everyone use the same one?

Wait a minute...the way I see it is...if all transgenders look that much like the gender they identify with they can just use the bathroom of the gender they identify with and NO ONE will ever know. It doesn't matter what kind of laws are in place or not. UNLESS the transgender person tells someone that they are transgender it will NEVER be an issue. And if they REALLY want to identify with the gender they choose....then they will just refer to themselves as that gender and no such thing as a transgender person will exist...except in the operating room. If that is a weird tangent ...then I guess I'm weird.

If someone displays inappropriate behavior,(lurkers, peepers, etc.) whether male or female, they are dealt with by the law. We already have laws dealing with that.

I think most women are uncomfortable about the women who don't look as feminine. Honestly, though, reality is that there are some women who are not transgendered, but I embarrassed myself by calling them 'Sir'! Egad.

That is exactly what I had cross my mind grabbing a coffee. If we didn't make a stink about it, it wouldn't be a problem.

I'm pretty sure cross dressing bathroom use has taken place for as long as gender specific facilities existed. The real problem seems to be buried within fixing something that probably wasn't really broken to begin with.

I did that once myself, too.

Personally, as a man, I'd also wonder what the fook a transwoman is doing in the bathroom?....You see, I have a bathroom in my house like other "Brits", but it actually has a bath tub in it.

Aaaaah, this is America....Public Toilets. What are those......just a PRIVATE cubicle what you call a "Stall", and a urinal for those men who have a penis.

That is why I don't have a problem with it. If they are a woman, they will not flash their sexual organ out for all to see. If they do, well, that is considered perverted flashing and is against the law.

Edit add: no laws necessary, just guidelines perhaps. Number one: Transgender women should NOT get hard ons while in the women's locker room, restroom, etc. If this is uncontrollable, they should use the Men's room to avoid being considered a pervert or finalize their surgery.

The fact is that Houston has now voted down a law that would LET transgendered people go to the bathroom of the gender they identify with. Another fact, not all transgendered people are as attractive as the lady in the OP. Fact three, this is CLEARLY an issue to Houston, because they made it so transgendered people can't go to the bathroom of the gender they identify with.

This is actually probably where we are headed as a society. Just make locker rooms/restrooms more private and problem solved.

Communal bathrooms worked in Starship Troopers. And we all know if it works in the movies then it works in real life!

When I was travelling around Scotland, I went into the local swimming pool in Stirling. I walked into the locker room and I actually thought I went into the female locker room instead of the mens. It was just full of women. But I was directed to go in there....Then it hit me that it was a Unisex locker room and that everything was private.

There was no problems.

Im now getting sick of the LGBT Agenda and BS. its not about rights now. so they want to use the restrooms they identify with fine.

i remember not too long ago a few threads on a woman in the UK turned male (dont ask me) and she was supposed to go to an all male jail, but was overturned.

now is this a double standard... if you identify as a male, or in your mind youre a male, and are 'legally a male'; your ass is going to an all male prison.

if you fight to use the restroom gender you identify with then you should be happy that you are going the jail of which gender you think you identify with.

equality is equality. there should be no caveats. your sexual ambiguity should not be a burden for others, there should be no double standards. Let them use whatever restrooms they want, and next time a man-woman breaks the law tell him-her as of legally becoming whomever, he-she's going to jail, and the in-between is your issue not the legal systems anymore.

I am unfamiliar with this event, but the way you are describing right now comes off to me that the state denied him from being in a male prison and not that he requested to go to a female prison because he was originally female, which is what should be the case if you are trying to point out hypocrisy here.

How about linking one of these supposed threads where this was discussed so we don't have to rely on your faulty memory as to what happened?

One more thing before we continue this discussion. According to you, this event happened in the UK. My OP is talking about Houston, a city within the US. So you are comparing the policies of two different countries and trying to lump the ENTIRE LGBTQ+ agenda is a uniform thing between the two of them.

I'm in my 50's. I was raised in a conservative household, and spent nearly 3 decades as a fundamentalist Christian. If I can accept the LGBT community, and learn something about their issues. Any one can if they want to, rather than sticking with only what confirms their bias. I've had to re-learn a lot in the last several years. It hasn't been easy, and I'm still re-learning.

For someone who's constantly hung up on logic and facts you are sure taking the touchy feely route on this one.

It's so easy really.

Does he have male genitalia? Yes? - Mens Room
No? - Women's Room

The whole "Ladies your man won't be able to resist" angle this lady is implying is so obvious and sad. It's like if they keep saying all men are attracted to transgendered men then it will surely come true.

I get it that you're trying to be a part of 2015 and be inclusive, but there's nothing that makes sense about a man with tits and a penis demanding to sit down in a stall and piss next to women so that he feels better about himself.
