I blame the empty self-esteem movement.

Kids are sheltered, coddled, given trophies just for breathing and then they get into the real world and find out they actually have to achieve things and work hard too.

There was a relevant bit on the radio this morning about how college psychiatrists and psychologists get kids who need counseling because they can't cope with anything. Something as simply as having a mouse in their apartment can send them over the edge. That's how bad it's gotten with our kids.

You are part of the problem: convinced it's the kids, convinced it's the parents who raise the kids, convinced that society has reared these children into broken fools.

I am one of these broken children, coddled and with no knowledge of how the "real" world works. I am part of "the generation that was failed." Except no one was failed, and the blame game solves nothing.

The irony is at the start of this reply, I attacked you. I BLAMED you.

The cycle is blame, the only way to end this is to stop communication, to stop blame and to stop feeling obligation to help others.

Every individual needs to lives for himself, for his own goals: not for someone else. Without the ability to live for oneself, rotten blame takes over and shootings like these happen.

From the instant I heard the breaking news, I knew that it would be in a gun-free zone. It didn’t take a sage to figure that out.

For now not enough is known about the exact situation to comment further. The media will focus not on the murderer, but what guns he had and how he got them, missing the real message about the dangers of gun-free zones.

From the school’s web site under “Safety & Security Info” (www.umpqua.edu...):

"Possession, use, or threatened use of firearms ... ammunition, explosives, dangerous chemicals, or any other objects as weapons on college property ... is prohibited."

I think the transgender thing is a little out there for me, but it definitely sounds like someone who has a religious issue. The reason for that, who knows right now.

So Putin just started bombing Syrian Rebels...and Obama runs out to politicize THIS event in a national address...even before the shooter's name and other details is even known.

He says every time something like this happens.

He's going to push 'common' sense gun regulation.

Of course we already have it.

And we also have that law that says a person can't go shooting another person.

Never letting a good crisis go to waste.

This thread isn't about Obama, let's try to refrain from finding any opportunity to bash Liberals. I know that's your favorite thing to do but Obama has nothing to do with this shooting.

I wonder if the people who blame the gun for a mans actions, are the same that have an issue when others blame religion for a mans actions.
