Oh right. I forgot. To the right wing, the government isn't a valid source becaaaaause it says things that you don't agree with.

Newsflash.

You can not get any more 'RIGHT WING' than trying to control the entire planet.

And here I thought people were trying to 'save' the planet.

Burning people at the stake gives off some nasty emissions.

Ya it is almost as ironic as all the religious folks that do nothing but bad mouth the pope for following what is attributed to Jesus.

Jesus was a globalist? Jesus had an opinion and interjected himself into debate over global warming? Did Jesus refer to His church as 'a' church, as this Pope has routinely done, or as The Church? Did Jesus even once say "atheists who do good are redeemed?" (I'll answer this one here, Jesus said exactly the opposite: "No one can come to the Father except through me." as for the 'do good' portion: "As Faith without works is dead, so are works without Faith equally dead.") Jesus would have appeared happily on the covers of Esquire, Rolling Stone, Time, and other magazines? Did Jesus call the Bread His body, or his 'brother?' Did Jesus advocate "scolding God" or "negotiating" with Him in prayer, or did He teach His people to pray for God's Will to be done? Did Jesus ever once call for government's to redistribute wealth, or did He say "render unto Ceasar what is Ceasar's?" Did Jesus rent out holy sites to wealthy "investors" as Francis has done withe the Sistine Chapel, or did Jesus overturn the money changers' tables and rage on the practice?

This is an anti-Pope, in my opinion.

Nope. Wish I did.

But I do remember a saying going something like this:

When fascism comes to America it will be dressed in a white robe welcomed with cheers, and chants of USA,USA, we must save the planet by the will of GOD, and we must cling to 'hope, and change'.

What I'd like to know is... why it's not okay for Liberals, Lefties, Progressives, Democrats or Centrists to criticize a religious leader or a politicians religious views and pronouncements, when we do it we get accused of attacking Christians and hating Christians but right-wingers get to attack the Pope with all kinds of ugliness?

I guess we of the center and left are smarter and understand you aren't attacking a whole religion just the person of topic... well unless he was Muslim of course.

What I want to know is when did it become 'politically incorrect' for the 'right' to criticize their religious leaders.

After all the left has been doing it for decades.

It isn't politically incorrect for you criticize the Pope. It's just politically incorrect to the right to have any of your religious politicians criticized.

Ah, but first...more taxes.
Because we all know that more tax means less climate change.

Finally a pope that is not mired in the dogma of hate and prejudice..how heinous!

“Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. 10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.
Matthew 24: 9-12

If what he says is popular with everyone, even non-Christians ... then maybe there is something wrong with it? It's supposed to be what's in the Bible, not what people want to hear.

In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: 2 Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. 3 For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. 5 But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.
2 Timothy 4: 1-5

Bu this Pope is busy telling you all what you want to hear, so you flock to him. It may fill his pews, but that's about all it does.

I noticed the biggest supporters seem to be people who declare they are not Christians.

I find that ironic.

Probably because he is the first Pope in quite some time to actually DO something about the issues at hand, such as poverty, inequality etc etc. He puts his money where his mouth is, something that hasn't been done in a long time.

But anyhoo, Im not Christian, or Muslim, or Athiest, or Buddhist, or Hindu, or a Satanist - sorry I don't fit into any of those categories that others try to shoehorn people into. Yet I agree that this Pope is the best one in a long while and the fact he is actually trying to do something about the issues he raises, not just parrot them off and forget about them, means he gets a thumbs up from me.

If you try to help, rather than hinder, humanity you get my thumbs up.

So this Pope is the best to come in sometime huh?

Well I am not Catholic but any Pope who speaks out against the teachings of the bible like Pope Francis does has violated his oath as leader of the Catholic faith and by doing so shows signs of being an antichrist. The Pope is not to change either OT or NT but to defend it and to teach it which he is not doing.

Oh my, I just read that The Pope is going to actually speak to Congress.

He is scheduled to speak before Congress on Thursday,
where he is expected bring his climate agenda directly to lawmakers.
www.motherjones.com...

Can you imagine if this were one of the religious leaders from The United States?

We are talking religiously inspired politics.
And the whole world is rejoicing?
Where are the outraged masses?

Wow, what a trick, literally.

If some people on this board are going to be intellectually honest with things they've said in the past, they will now have to turn on any Climate Change legislation. After all, they are also all about separation of church and state, and now, Climate Change will clearly be a Christian backed policy, right?
