Not female in every way then. If my bf was transsexual but still had a penis, I would say he was different than myself. I would say that if a person has a penis that they are not female "in every way"

I suppose that intersex people are not 100% either way.

Ok now that is clear. But that is not the topic is it? Yes I am in agreement with you about some strange men walking into adult woman's bathroom. I am not debating that.

But the topic is THOSE high school girls and Lila.

It's the same issue. Locker rooms and bathrooms are not to dissimilar. They're both traditionally places of gender-labeled function. Both have toilets, as far as I've seen, and both are places of public exposure. Whether Lila's transgender or not remains unseen, but we're discussing what essentially boils down to a RIGHT. Is it my right to use a women's facility, or should I do the pee-pee dance wherever I go and limit myself to broom closets to change, or risk mockery among male peers? Lila, if trans, faces this conundrum.

Yep. But the point here is that why would high school girls knowing a transman (who has been transitioning mind you) over the years that have used their locker room suddenly have a problem?

That has been discussed. Remember we are talking about trans KIDS who are transitioning. The same people the girls have known for years. They don't all of sudden look like men with all the muscles, do they?

You'd be surprised how much the body of a trans guy on testosterone changes. Some grow a full beard and have a mans voice in only 6 months or so. Now imagine one started their transition over summer vacation. By fall they'd look and sound and act like boys.

Even though he'd be the same person the girls knew last year he'd feel, look, sound, act and smell like a dude.

Testosterone is powerful stuff (which is why it was so important for me to block its production at 12).

And yes, plenty of teenage trans guys take testosterone shots.

See that's the thing. I entered high school in 9th grade looking, sounding, acting like a typical girl my age. No one ever knew me as anything different but word gets around and when it did I faced the opposition I talked about before.

However it was just one girls parents who complained.

Nothing at all like the firestorm around Lila.

I think this was because:

1. I started my transition medically at 12 before entering high school.

Again though, what would be more uncomfortable for those girls, Lila, who if she is really a trans girl will probably be quiet and keep to herself until some of them offer friendship.....

I will concede this point (I won't even bring up lesbians). My opinion I don't think the girls will be uncomfortable after they find out. Why don't we ask those girls? Their opinions matter, not mine.

S/he also said her parents and family don't support her so this is understandable. A lot of trans kids don't transition until they're in their teens if they only have a little or no family support.

I was lucky, without my family I could have been in Lilas situation. Many trans kids are.I guess that's why I want to give her the benefit of the doubt.

Ask Kojiro if her mom would have helped her get on testosterone blockers and hormones before high school. She was in the closet even 10 years AFTER high school.

If someone else could vouch for the trans or gay claim ie: therapist, other students, a boyfriend etc that would go a long way, I agree.
