For some reason his approach reminds me of Canada's Trudeau's campaign approach (Prime Minister wannabe), in that, they want to veer off the way things have always been done and drag us kicking and screaming into another way of doing things.

The best President in my lifetime was former actor Ronald Regan. Al Franken is in politics. What's your point?

So the best president in your lifetime is a guy who struck deals with Iran, negotiated with terrorists, rose taxes an average of once per year, passed the largest peacetime tax increase in the countries history, massively increased government spending, granted amnesty to illegals, was very pro gun control, advocated removing Americas entire nuclear arsenal, removed laws preventing abortion, and was tough on Israel.

From your previous posts, I didn't realize you were such a liberal. Reagan was to the left of the modern day Democrat party to say nothing of those who claim to be modeled in his image on the right.

I want to know: Are you just shooting down the idea that ANYONE who is NOT Bush or Clinton or Biden or Trump could win?

Actually, anyone who is not a member of the Council on Foreign Relations can't win. Every US President since Eisenhower was a CFR member.

Trump and Carson are not CFR members. Bush and Clinton are.

Imagine you're betting on a horse race. Two of the horses come from a stable that has produced every single winning horse since the '50s. Two of the horses come from other stables.

Where would you put your money?

Say Trump wins the presidency. What if Congress refuses to work with him?

It would be hard for him to win as a Republican. Having that stale party's affiliation is like a ball and chain around Trumps ankle. I hope Donald goes independent and has his own convention! He'd draw huge crowds of Repubs, Dems, and Indies that way.

Prior 2008, only stables that produced "white horses" (candidates) won the race. IMO, politics is now undergoing a revolution akin to what happened to communications, after cellphones became small enough for pocket/purse.

You conveniently forgot to post the part where I discounted Beezzer as meaning this as literal harm. I happen to enjoy his bravado.

My point is that in this day and age, everyone is so PC, no one can joke anymore. You missed this. Apologies.

Being anti-abortion does not make one misogynist. I know you think it sounds really kewl, but it not an accurate portrayal of misogyny.

The color or sex of the horse may change, but the owner still gets the purse.

Republicans are stale because they don't embrace genocide of the unborn, demands for free contraception, wholesale redistribution of wealth just because socialists think they know what's good for everyone, trafficking in aborted baby parts, amnesty for people who cross the border illegally and break our laws, statism and government intrusion in every aspect of our lives? umm okay whatever you say. OH yah I forgot that crazy mess of health insurance fraud masquerading as a genuine act of good will and the death panels.
If you like your doctor you can kee.... oh never mind...

Speaking of this in your view (which I don't agree with) Reagan passed a lot of legislation in California permitting abortions, he increased the number performed in that state by 20x. So I suppose some Republicans do support it.

He did grant amnesty to illegals. Didn't the Progressives learn... oh never mind, it's just like the failure of the old Soviet Union....Progressives think they can do it better....

so what are you telling me? That Reagan was loved by conservatives but he wasn't really one after all? He was a reformed Democrat, as was Jeane Kirkpatrick, his ambassador to the UN. I liked Reagan a lot but he did compromise on some things.

Trump is killing the GOP??? Nope, they are committing suicide...No one seems to consider all those millions of eligible people who never vote at election time...Millions don't vote because they can't see a lick of difference between the parties...Millions held their noses when they voted for Romney...And millions of voters stayed home rather than vote for Romney...

Trump is kicking the sleeping giant and the giant is waking up....If this anti-American trade deal with Europe goes thru, and Obama is successful in allowing Iran to have nuclear weapons there will be many Democrats moving to support Trump as well...

Trump is the only candidate who claims he'll work hard to get jobs back into the U.S. ...You don't think that appeals to Democrats...Trump is basically running a 3rd Party candidacy while running as a Republican...And the people are loving it...

I get your point. Problem is Trump is on CNN, MSNBD AND FOX consistently, the news stations show his speeches for ratings, would Hilary give them those ratings ? NO....I see that currently Trump loses in polls to Hilary, Bernie AND Biden but the other republicans lose worse. I like Trump for lots of reasons BUT the warning signs ARE THERE as to his personality dysfunctions, egomaniacal statements and oversensitivity . I think Trump will be our next president. As an independent I would vote for him simply because he is an a**hole LOL.

I don't claim the right or the left. I have been accused of being both liberal and conservative depending on who I happen to piss off at any given time. I am pro-freedom and pro-Constitution which I don't associate with either side of the aisle.

Reagan won 49 of 50 states when he was re-elected. That wasn't an accident.

trump is just there to help split the crazy vote in the primaries so jeb bush gets the nomination
if the crazy vote is consolidated and focused you could end up with one of the more extreme lunatics getting the nomination
in which case the gop has absolutely no chance at the presidency

bush is their best hope at winning a national election and they know it
and their strategy surely shows it

if youre dirty and you know it clap your hands

I agree. Hes a caricature of the right, creating indefensible positions out of valid viewpoints. Hes a paper tiger intended to manipulate the process. Im a libertarian, not a conservative, but he tarnishes a few libertarian ideals as well.

Can't blame Trump for this. Blame the extreme right wing conservative base that likes attacking the Latino/Latina community. Trump isn't the first Repub candidate to attack them & he won't be the last one, either. And if the conservative base actually cared about getting Latino/Latina votes, they'd rebuke & reject Trump for his words. Instead they agree with him & increase their support of him every time he attacks the Hispanic community.

In other words, the "Southern Strategy" still works at the State & local level, but it will continue to fail at the national level. And Repubs simply don't have an alternative national plan yet.
