I'm far from worried about it, but thanks for your concern. I'm just relaying the facts of that particular situation to illustrate what people are capable of after 7 days with no food.

Here's what I have to say about this and I'm sorry for being Blunt. I'm just going to point out stuff we already know. Posts on here never change. It's been the same for years. Same content. Same Doom, Sam Gloom, just different people. Different user names. But all stuck in the same place, same habits. Same lies.

The forums is nothing now but just fear porn and it will continue to stay that way if you let it. Not even taken seriously anymore. And thanks to you the real genuine posts are drowned out with lies, and deception. So congratulations hope you guy's are happy with what you have turned this place into.

Hate to be Blunt guy's but it's true.

1. We are born here on earth starting with nothing. We didn't come here with furniture, foods, hard goods, even money. All of us started with nothing.

2. When we die. We leave with nothing. The power that you have built up here on earth. Gone in an instance. All the money, all of the food you have been saving up all of your life. You can't take with you. That all disappears. It goes when you die. We all leave with nothing. It doesn't matter who you are in the world. I don't care if your the richest person on the planet. You can't take your wealth with you in the afterlife. You can't take away your power in the afterlife. Your just like everyone else. You can't even take with you the canned food, guns, bullets you have stocked up Preparing for the end. WE ALL DIE PEOPLE!!!!

3. None of us know when we are going to die. None of us. We are all here temporality. No one here is immortal. Our bodies are all designed to Die. And guess what. When we do finally die and go home. We all will be held accountable for what we do here on earth. No loop holes, or human laws will get you out of it.

So what you do with yourself is up to you. Life is what you make of it. Do what count's right now. Because every second that tick's away is every second that comes closer to when you have to leave earth.

So do what counts now because later on you just may not have the time to make a difference.

We all know this is true. Nothing special about it. You all know what you need to know to get around.

And quite honestly can't even care less about who you are or what you do with your life because I'm not you. I am me, and I care about what's going on in my life.

Every second you live in Fear, Every second you live in stress. It's hell on earth. Why bother??? What good is fear to you? Do you get anything out of keeping you and the human population in fear of the un-known? Fear of what???? All posts on here are lies, deceptions, illusions designed to keep you scared, afraid, worried, in hell.

Question is do you care enough about yourself about what's happening with you?

We all die people. We all will suffer the same fate. What you do with your life, and yourself right now is up to you.

Well, isn't that a self-serving warning? 'Please by pre-packaged foods produced by major manufacturers on case the stock market crashes because we aren't purchasing enough goods from major manufacturers'.
Or, and hear me out on this, because it is a bit far-fetched, we could can our own goods, and start community gardens or home gardens to produce our own food stocks.
And if you have the space, you can toss up a hot house to grow most of the year. Plus, you can still get non-sterile seed stock of most veggies (meaning that the seeds they produce will actually grow, unlike most corn).
And pretty much anywhere you live, you can grow enough of a variety of fruits and vegetables to live off of. Otherwise your ancestors wouldn't have settled there in the first place.

Perfect response.

I'm always baffled at the mindset of "buy these corporate made, prepackaged products in case doomsday comes". If those people really cared about us, they'd start by teaching people how to forage, catch & tame animals, knitting, trapping, and basic farming (including how to take samples of different types of vegetation so you don't always have to start from seed).

What do you mean canned food don't last very long? When my dad died, I found three cases of stewed tomatoes in his house dated 2010. These are "store-bought" canned goods and I'm still eating them. It's August 2015 and they're holding up nicely. I used some more them yesterday. Home canned goods last even longer. I found some beef vegetable soup my late parents had canned dated July 2007 and it still tastes fine. That's plenty enough time to start growing your own food.

I totally understand your post on this topic, but if you have kids as young as 6 who are solely dependent on you for survival, then the last thing anyone would want is to see them starving. So this is the time to prepare food and water for them.

To be honest with you, I care less about myself and feel inclined to help others.

I know enough to help others more than myself, and eventually we all move one.

It's better to move on with a smile than in great fear.

There is no fear, if you don't allow it to affect you.
Rather maintain peace within (inner peace) and being positive is key.

The universe will always dance to the nature of your song..

Peace

From a perspective of you never know when nature or other unforseen disasters could hit, probably smart for everyone to have stock on hand. Doing because of the market, your call.

An adviser to Gordon Brown? This is the same Gordon Brown who started the 2008 crash by deregulating the City. Well, then. I guess he should know about it.

Just curious what you would do in my situation if the # were to hit the fan to the extent mr McBride predicts, in the coming days weeks or months.

I live surrounded by thousands of houses in one of London's many densely populated residential boroughs, for miles around its just houses... My flat is in the top floor of a five storey block. It overlooks a busy junction with heavy traffic and I have a lot of visability to the surrounding area... But all it is I can really see from here to the horizon is just houses and trees a few churches, an old school and a few more tower blocks in the distance

Not trying to mess up this survivalists pissing contest here, but back to the doom porn for me.

The World markets look fine. What happens if the Chinese markets finish re-adjusting this week and by next Monday things are back to normal? Will a single person ever feel a little silly into buying into only the 1000000000000th "The world markets are crashing!" hype?

Do you guys realize that these people make videos for a living? They get money from clicks from youtube.

Suckers will be suckers.

Lol. If this became a prepper bragging contest, I'm sure that I am at the very least half way responsible. Not my intention. I was merely discussing the value of preparedness, whether you ever need it or not. Sorry to have gotten dark with it and made pet lovers wince.
Really had no intention of going there, just got wrapped up in a good conversation.

You need to go back further.

Thatcher deregulated The City in 1986.

Similarly, you must accept that choosing to adopt such a cavalier attitude will have few serious drawbacks - until circumstances beyond your control put you in a difficult position.

As long as nothing happens you'll be fine. In the unlikely (or not) event of some catastrophe, you'll be among the majority who are unprepared and struggling to survive day by day.

Some see the price of a few bottles and cans as a cost-effective way to increase their chances of survivng whatever tomorrow may bring. To see that point of view, look up 'Pascal's gambit' and 'normality bias.'

And what happens if it doesn't improve and keeps on falling until it crashes?

Don't you want to be prepared if such is the case, It's actually better than not preparing at all.

Fool me once, shame on you.
Fool my twice, shame on me.

Fool me 200 times a year with doomsday youtube videos... well then its just getting stupid.

These guys do not get up and work like you and I. Rather they cash in on the doom of the month and make a video. With just 300,000 views these guys rake in about 5k a month.

Im prepared enough man. I just refuse to give into hysteria and belief in these snake oil salesmen. Nor will I buy their goods.

Carry on.

I really didn't mean to interject reason into a good doom porn thread.

Haha...I get your point...

But besides, the youtube snakeoil stuff, it's actually true the markets aren't looking good. It's a what if scenerio.

I guess, preparing for any such event is not such a bad thing.

WARNING: Careful with long-term storage foods. I know of a couple who tried one brand and became very ill. It's not that the food was bad or tainted -- it wasn't. Their systems simply weren't used to it and they were sick for days. I think some of it was powdered and some was ('just add boiling hot water') dehydrated food. All I know is they wound up in the emergency room over a meal they were sampling and trying out in order to supplement their canned goods supply.

Just be aware and exercise caution. If your system isn't used to it, you could end up with the runs which causes dehydration.

Or adapt your system to accept what you need in whatever form you can get it. As well as you're able to, at least.

I used to have money in stocks years ago. I cashed those all out. The stock market is a joke. You're better off going to a casino and playing blackjack. You'd havemore control of things and a better return on investment than you would with your money in the stock market.
