For people who have been so wronged by the big bad West, they sure aren't scared to come here. In fact, they are willing to risk their lives to come live with the same people who are supposedly blowing them up.

The government, and industrial military complex did that, not the "people".

If they could stay home they would. Who jumps on a leaky boat, faces drowning, and illegally immigrates to a strange land that speaks a different language?

Desperate people do that. They don't probably know where the bombs came from, either. Not like we in the Modern Civilized West do. All they know is if they stay in their country ravaged by war started by the West, they will die.

I have no empathy for men who flee their home, rather than fight, only to inevitably steal my money.

Did you have any empathy when your country blew up theirs?

Funny their countrys till there. Its their own cowardice they are running away from their homes and not willing to die for their own property and or lives and livelihoods.

Because they are misled? Told lies, extorted for giant sums to get to the "promised land"?

For such stupid and ignorant people like you claim them to be, they sure do know a lot about where to go and how to do it. A lot of them getting off of the boats have smartphones. We don't live in the 1900's anymore, wake up!

Refugees flee their homeland because they are forced to. Thats what waging aggressive war is all about.

Or are you just playing dumb?

Islamaphobia now?

You should fear your own leadership more. They're the ones waging unjust wars in the Middle East.

They arent forced though. There is such a thing as standing your ground. If you cant support them they should be turned back around and sent back to the hell they left. Only Cowards flee their "homeland" when they can fight back. Imagine th efighting force they could have if they stood their ground. Bu tno... do liek the french and run away. They need to be liek the french resistance was though. They were braver than the french army itself.

ALso the US isnt in any wars there now so th eonly UNJUST wars being fought are between other arabs.

So my first hand experiences as opposed to what you have read is totally irrelevant?

Yeah, okay pal okay.
You have no first hand experience about any of the people currently at the border of Macedonia, as described in the OP. It is for the same reason I have chosen not to include my own experiences of working front line with refugees in a central government capacity. It is irrelevant to the discussion in this particular OP because I can provide no evidence to support it.
Neither can you regarding your anecdotal comments.

Yes, I agree I have no knowledge of these people caught up in the rush, but you are quick to suggest they are all looking to come to the U.K, when you have no knowledge of their preferred destination.

I appreciate there will be some false asylum cases, but there will also be genuine cases. We can't let Greece or Macedonia deal with the problem alone and as you have already suggested it is a world problem. But Greece is a European Union country and the E.U should be assisting them with this crisis at the very least.

It's only going to get worse unfortunately.

No, that is your invention alone.
I stated that English is overwhelmingly the second language of most of those migrants who have refused to claim asylum at the border of Macedonia, if indeed they speak a second language.
How could you even disagree with that? You think Syrian and Libyan teens watch the French or Dutch version of MTV? Lol.

Lol indeed, of course not.

Do you think Macedonia have the resources to immediately deal with all those asylum applications? Lol indeed.

I do not understand why, if they were really desperate to get into the U.K , then why don't they claim asylum in an E.U country, get a passport and come and live in the U.K as an E.U citizen?

That's how we have ended up with such a large Somali contingent, the majority have settled as E.U migrants.

Europe is already swamped with Muslims who don't fit in and want to make their host countries like them.

Macedonia was not the first safe country, they are trying to get in to pass through to Western Europe, but do remember those pesky international conventions on refugees, first safe nation and all that. They are safe in Greece but refusing to register and claim asylum there.

I'm all for massively supporting Greece with resources to house, clothe, and feed those folk, and process their applications, I'd pay 1% extra in income tax at least to do that, but if you are advocating that the conventions are changed and asylum seekers can pick their safe country, we would disagree.
For that it would need to be an agreement found at the UN, including the US, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand.

The U.N need to get a grip of the problem, but they are reluctant because it is in Europe. If this was in another part of the world, they would be setting up refugee camps and sending in aid workers.

It's a humanitarian crisis that without the right intervention, could become a disaster quite quickly.

Agreed, humanitarian aid and fixing the problems in the nations these people are fleeing from is paramount.
Providing assistance to the safe countries they have reached is of equal importance to a responsible world, but letting asylum seekers choose the country they wish to claim asylum in (while in a safe country) is madness as far as I see it.

How many do you want to settle in Britain and never return, 10,000, 100,000, 1000000, more?
30 million or so people in Syria and Libya, let's maybe spend money on helping them fix their nations and keeping them safe at the first safe place they reached until such time as the can return to their homeland?

Yah, go there and stand their ground for them. Fight the war on terror, for them. Find ISIS and "fix them".

If you survive, look me up and we'll drink to your luck.

A lot of them getting off of the boats have smartphones.

Having a 'smart phone' does not make one smart…
