I guess they should all go to the same bathroom and shower in gym class together as well?
I would have been all for that in High school..

I don't see where it has anything to do with using diversity pronouns in organizing groups of children.

So, naturally I am quite furious when entities which claim to represent the gay rights community spew crap about how they have the right to dictate the views/language of others. Not only does this hurt their cause, angering people like myself, but it is blatant demonization of the NOT gay community. They are doing what they hate others doing!!!
Jesus Christ. The ignorance displayed on this thread is simply... unbelievable.
NO ONE has spewed any crap on their right to dictate the views/language of others. HRC has a group called "Welcoming Schools", with a website and regional counselors that schools, teachers and parents can use as a resource if they have kids with gender identity issues. The schools, teachers and parents GO TO THEM for help in dealing with these issues. It is strictly a voluntary deal, up to the free will of the school/teacher/parent. These are merely suggestions and helpful advice. If the school/parent/teacher tries them and finds it doesn't help - fine, they quit doing it. None of these suggestions are harmful in any way to any kid.
I suppose one thing that history shows us is that human stupidity is seemingly endless.
Yep.
What is helpfull about their advice to these schools?
Many schools/teachers find it helpful to learn ways to make sure no kid gets left out or bullied or stereotyped for being "different". You think it's better to allow or to even encourage bullying, or to make a kid feel bad?

I can't believe this actually needs to be spelled out to people, I think many of you would benefit from going back to school yourselves.
Pay attention now class...
Schools are a place for learning, not a place for tribalism.
Schools are responsible for providing an equal opportunity of learning for all students.
Schools are required to offer a safe and secure environment in which children can learn comfortably in order to function well in society and secure a good future for themselves.
Your gender is NOT a defining factor of your ability to learn, to play sports, to be creative, to function in society, any more than being ginger or blond is, any more than being black or white is, any more than being gay or straight is.
By removing these tribal attitudes and assumptions about kids it helps to create a more equal and diverse environment for ALL kids, where their gender (or race, weight, color, sexuality, height) is not used to define them.
The fact that this needs to be spelled out for people perfectly displays the level of ignorance and knee-jerk nonsense we so often have to deal with on this forum. A simple move to improve things for the next generation is branded as being "political correctness gone mad!!!!!111111", when in reality it just once again shows that there is a hell of a lot of ignorance from people who are so conservative and stuck in their own ideas of how society should be they would stop the world tomorrow and end all societal evolution if they could.
Maybe what you all call "crazy political correctness" is just a sign that you're old, out of touch with the society around you, and completely lacking in any common sense or understanding of how societies EVOLVE?

It took us a while to call Blacks, Blacks, and Whites, Whites. When interracial births became commonplace we came up with a third option--- biracial.
We will come up with a suitable third name when it is wanted/needed. Until then, boys are boys, and girls are girls. Once they are old enough to identify with a specific gender, they can become that gender if they so choose.
In the meantime, this is food for thought.

If you think that changing the labels we call each other can be attributed to a loss in IQ then you don't know what IQ is.

Which is fine. When and if somebody signs their child up for school who would like to be identified as something else, that's a discussion that can be had for that individual child. As for the rest of the kids, I think boys and girls work just fine, it's not accusatory.... It's just what they are.
Right.
Let's single that individual child out.

We are not talking about discrimination, we are talking about calling boys..... Boys and girls..... Girls......

Actually NO.
But, I don't think you'll ever get past that.
