It's indoctrination Akron... I know you and some others try to make it sound like it is alright. But this is getting teachers to refer, and talk to students without identifying gender... To try to make all students inclusive, leading to the "herd" mentality instead of giving emphasis on individuality.

...
4. Develop a Gender Expansive Environment

We know that conforming to traditional ideas of masculinity and femininity can be limiting, not only to transgender students, but to all students.
...

You don't see it because you don't want to. But this is socialism/communism in the making.

Page 20 in the following book.

Solidarity's Secret: The Women Who Defeated Communism in Poland

Or read page 301 in this book and you will see this tactic being used by communists to reverse gender roles.

Gendering Post-socialist Transition: Studies of Changing Gender Perspectives

Pretty soon teachers are going to be required to chant to students "we are all one, the needs of the many outweight the needs of the few"... It might sound like an ideal way to live, except that most people like you have only seen that "indoctrination" from movies and series like Star Trek which made it sound fantastic when the reality is quite the opposite. In the real world, the "herd mentality", and the "we are one, so the many outweigth the needs of the few" is the type of mentality that brought socialism and communism to many nations.

That's has always been part of the indoctrination, to change gender roles, and not refer to students as individuals but as a "collective"...

How are the words boy and girl becoming defunct when they are still perfectly accurate in relation to (and I'll go well past the estimate of the Transgender population ) at least 75% of the population?

75% is not 100%; that's how.

That's like saying that because a certain percentage of vehicles are motorcycles, the word car is defunct.

Fundamentally incorrect.

Some vehicles are trucks, motor bikes, sports cars, trains etc, and the term 'car' has a very specific (albeit a general term within its own sub genre) definition.

'Boy' and 'girl' traditionally meant adolescent male child and adolescent female child, respectively -- terms that clearly do not cover trangenderism. As such, unless the definitions of said nouns are amended to reflect male-to-female 'girls' and female-to-male 'boys' - to say nothing of hermaphrodites(!) - then the words' meanings, by very definition, have been diluted, if not lost.

Failing thus, new terms can be devised. For [facetious] example: "vanilla females" for biological girls...(!)

So, naturally I am quite furious when entities which claim to represent the gay rights community spew crap about how they have the right to dictate the views/language of others. Not only does this hurt their cause, angering people like myself, but it is blatant demonization of the NOT gay community. They are doing what they hate others doing!!!

Jesus Christ. The ignorance displayed on this thread is simply... unbelievable.

NO ONE has spewed any crap on their right to dictate the views/language of others. HRC has a group called "Welcoming Schools", with a website and regional counselors that schools, teachers and parents can use as a resource if they have kids with gender identity issues. The schools, teachers and parents GO TO THEM for help in dealing with these issues. It is strictly a voluntary deal, up to the free will of the school/teacher/parent. These are merely suggestions and helpful advice. If the school/parent/teacher tries them and finds it doesn't help - fine, they quit doing it. None of these suggestions are harmful in any way to any kid.

I suppose one thing that history shows us is that human stupidity is seemingly endless.

Yep.

What is helpfull about their advice to these schools?

Next step? All citizens will wear the same non-gendered clothing of the same color depending in which social class you fall into.

But then how can they be divided by their green shirts or lack thereof?

What if they are colourblind, is that not discrimination against the crayola challenged...calling out for those who have on 'green'?

Target has already taken steps to eliminate 'boys and girls' from certain sections of their stores.
TARGET REMOVING GENDER LABELS FROM MOST OF CHILDREN'S DEPARTMENT

CAN YOU SHOUT ANY LOUDER?

In most cases, a male is born a male and a female is born a female as biology dictates.

But biology dictates our feelings as well, and that's why some are better off as a member of the opposite sex. However the moment you are brought into this world and the doctor sees your genitals, you are male or female, or in some cases both.

Many schools/teachers find it helpful to learn ways to make sure no kid gets left out or bullied or stereotyped for being "different". You think it's better to allow or to even encourage bullying, or to make a kid feel bad?

Worldwide? Yep. That's the numerical average. Did you read the information I provided?

So, question for you, how many trans* and intersex folk have you met that you didn't know about, i.e that were "passing" as one or the other or didn't make you personally aware of their identities?

I wish I could make this stuff up.

Jude

Except, as is usually the case with these things, you ARE making it up.
Nothing is being "banned"!
Are you all incapable of reading the language you claim to speak?

This is a guide, a recommendation by the HRC, for creating a more inclusive environment for kids where gender is not a defining factor of their being - you know, like being blond shouldn't be, or being tall, or being over weight...

All this is is a recommendation by HRC that schools stop defining students by their gender, pitting them against each other, making assumptions about their attitudes, behaviors and interests based solely on whether they are male of female.

I do wish you guys would actually READ things before you go into your typically conservative mental breakdowns.

I can't believe this actually needs to be spelled out to people, I think many of you would benefit from going back to school yourselves.

Pay attention now class...

Schools are a place for learning, not a place for tribalism.
Schools are responsible for providing an equal opportunity of learning for all students.
Schools are required to offer a safe and secure environment in which children can learn comfortably in order to function well in society and secure a good future for themselves.

Your gender is NOT a defining factor of your ability to learn, to play sports, to be creative, to function in society, any more than being ginger or blond is, any more than being black or white is, any more than being gay or straight is.

By removing these tribal attitudes and assumptions about kids it helps to create a more equal and diverse environment for ALL kids, where their gender (or race, weight, color, sexuality, height) is not used to define them.

The fact that this needs to be spelled out for people perfectly displays the level of ignorance and knee-jerk nonsense we so often have to deal with on this forum. A simple move to improve things for the next generation is branded as being "political correctness gone mad!!!!!111111", when in reality it just once again shows that there is a hell of a lot of ignorance from people who are so conservative and stuck in their own ideas of how society should be they would stop the world tomorrow and end all societal evolution if they could.

Maybe what you all call "crazy political correctness" is just a sign that you're old, out of touch with the society around you, and completely lacking in any common sense or understanding of how societies EVOLVE?

Or better yet, just tell all the ranting, conservative, ignorant people who want to keep our societies stagnant and operating according to their narrow views to GTFO and leave the adults and professionals to make the decisions?

I think it is just easier to take the advice or leave it, which is a pretty damn good characteristic of it being advice. I'm not sure why all the whining about advice is necessary.

Akron? Isn't that a town in Ohio?

Anyway, respectfully, you are full of crap. If you knew me, you'd know I am one of the most individualistic, unique and head strong people you are likely to ever meet and so far from from your feared herd mentality or Borg collective it isn't funny.

Nobody is trying to turn kids into communist drones or take away their individuality. For crying out loud, man. Back away from the Internet and take your political mumbo jumbo rhetoric with you and by all means, hang on tightly to that capitalism that's working out so well for everybody with you. Geez, I thought the great red scare was over long ago?

Thanks for the entertaining and amusing read though. I got a kick out of it.

So, now, we've left behind the fact that this is a particular set of suggestions from one equal rights organization regarding a specific subject (classrooms) that is available IF WANTED or REQUESTED ... to the boogaboo of the "Gay Lobby" to make Our Decisions for us.

Why do you want to control the way that Americans express themselves, Beezzer?

Why do you hate freedom?
