The photo may still get the same reaction but to tie this to the police if they aren't real officers is just adding flames to an already rough relationship between police and various groups.

I will pretty much bet that I could walk up and pledge a black fraternity and be accepted, maybe not, I am old guy. Your use of the term coloreds tells me all I need to know about you, I lived in the south for several years.

I am in my late 20's and was in a fraternity. We had 3 black people out of 70 guys, a few mexicans thrown in there. This is coming from a very white state in the Midwest. But no, a white person could not go into an all black fraternity and be accepted, it is in their code, I have spoken to them about the fact-several times. There were several times I was recruiting a black person to join our fraternity and a black fraternity on campus would call me and tell me to not pursue him, he was "their ground to indoctrinate first," I swear those were the words I was told on multiple occasions. If you want to know more about me, I lived in the same house as Johnny Carson did when he was in our fraternity.

Amazing, I am in my mid 50's, first wife was half Mexican thrown in. I have my serious doubts that you have spoken to 10 black people in your life. Your fraternity doesn't interest me, I spent seven years in the military, unless you spent seven years in college, probably not even close to the same experienced. You have once again exposed your racist attitude with the "few mexicans thrown in" comment, my children are 1/4 mexican, you sir are a racist

Because the KKK has killed many thousands of Americans, burned a countless number of black majority churches, and personally maintained Jim Crow laws in the South. In its prime in the 1920s, the KKK claimed control over more than half of the state legislatures, with 1 in every 4 white males in the South being official members.

Skinheads & neo-Nazis follow the teachings and ideology of Hitler and the Nazis. The Nazis literally killed 10s of millions of people, including being responsible for the deaths of at least 10 million white Slavic people. Most historians put that number closer to 20 million, but I'm trying to be nice here.

So how is "Black Lives Matter" anywhere close to this? That's like me saying the Tea Party is no different than Chingiss Khan/Genghis Khan's empire because they both needed to breathe, eat, and sleep.

1. BLM isn't racist. It isn't racist to say we want the judicial system to treat us like we matter, the same way they treat other demographics like their lives matter. Virtually every study agrees that we & Hispanic people get harsher treatment than every other American demographic in every step of the judicial system

2. You & the OP both compared BLM to skinheads & the KKK. I keep pointing out that those 2 are vast organizations that committed a laundry list of atrocities & other policies. Omitting all of those obvious differences just to prove their single supposed similarity is being disingenuous at best. 3. It wasn't back "hundreds of years ago". The KKK's 2nd biggest claim to power was in the 1950s and 1960s. Their first peak was in the 1920s, also less than 100 years ago. They were specifically against the Civil Rights Movement. They were also specifically against interracial marriages, which were only made legal in 1967. Many people on ATS right now were actual witnesses to their marches, speeches, and atrocities. So your point here is invalid too.

Also, Hitler & the Nazis whom modern neo-Nazis follow wasn't 100 years ago, either. There are many people who are alive now who were alive during WWII. This is recent history.

i spent 6 years in college and have a masters and have spoken to and have worked with hundreds of black people. I said that there were a few mexicans thrown in to show that our fraternity was not racist like all black fraternity's. I don't know who was 1/4, 1/8, or 1/16 mexican or indian or israelites or sufi's because it doesn't matter. We are all 1/something black so what does it matter? Noone was from mexico, noone was from africa, they are all americans, it doesn't matter their skin color, yet all black fraternity's care about skin color above all else-or esle they wouldn't be all black.

And wow your kids are 1/4 mexican, great, who cares? I am 1/2 swedish and 1/2 german but does anyone call me either? No. I am white.

You do realize that there are more than three times as many of us white people as there are black people? Its difficult to get good data, but the most conservative estimate is that black people are about 3x as likely to be killed in an encounter with the police as white people. Blacks are also far more likely to be arrested for offenses that white people commit with the same frequency, more likely to be convicted and receive on average something like 20% longer jail/prison sentences than white people convicted of the same crime.

I am saying that blacks think they should have better rights than whites and yet they have the same rights. There is no discrimmination, it is only percieved by those who hold racist thoughts within their own mind who percieve acts of injustice as racist.

The way you speak about the people you have worked with and spoke to, along with the mexicans thrown in, would define you as a racist. I have PHd in African Engineering from the Tuskegee Institute according to the certificate on my wall.
