Because the KKK has killed many thousands of Americans, burned a countless number of black majority churches, and personally maintained Jim Crow laws in the South. In its prime in the 1920s, the KKK claimed control over more than half of the state legislatures, with 1 in every 4 white males in the South being official members.

Skinheads & neo-Nazis follow the teachings and ideology of Hitler and the Nazis. The Nazis literally killed 10s of millions of people, including being responsible for the deaths of at least 10 million white Slavic people. Most historians put that number closer to 20 million, but I'm trying to be nice here.

So how is "Black Lives Matter" anywhere close to this? That's like me saying the Tea Party is no different than Chingiss Khan/Genghis Khan's empire because they both needed to breathe, eat, and sleep.

This is literally why politicians dumb things down so much. Because apparently some people can't understand any more complex than "me good, he bad, hurr hurr hurr".

Probably the best post on this thread thumbs up and a star for you making real comparisons. Black lives do matter, its ok to understand that. Now as a white skined person I am all for the black lives matter movement, there is alot of racism in this country and African American people are the target of alot of racism, a movement to call that racism out isnt racist at all. I stand with the black lives matter folks, and I stand against racism everywhere. The KKK needs to be labeled a terrorist organization and its members imprisoned for crimes against humanity.

Honestly, a lot of these people know this. They're just playing ignorant. ATS has a lot of older members who were teenagers or full grown adults during the times of Jim Crow laws & forced racial segregation. They know full well how things really were. There's even a thread here (a rant) called "African American Names!", where members here openly admit to throwing out job applications if they had stereotypical "black" names. but they're the first ones to claim institutionalized racism is fake.

I was born & raised in the South. Most "white" people I know here can tell you exactly which family members owned slaves, how many, and a lot more. They can tell you which members were in the KKK too, if you ask. And that includes the liberal, progressive, and centrist people here.

So to compare BLM to the KKK is so far off that it doesn't even make sense.

I can look back and tell you who in my family free'd them upon their death, I can tell you a lot about my family, but outside of "George Washington Slept Here", is relatively unimportant.

My best friend in Florida, was a 6'4" gay black man, he was the best man at my wife and I's wedding. He and I used to travel to car shows and auctions together. It even extends to my wife's mother, she couldn't have her white daughter dancing with the best man, even though the three of us often went out together. Pissed the Mom in Law off even more, when I danced with my friend. No for all the perverts, he and I were just friends. This is probably more of a rant, just tired of the hate.

I am in my late 20's and was in a fraternity. We had 3 black people out of 70 guys, a few mexicans thrown in there. This is coming from a very white state in the Midwest. But no, a white person could not go into an all black fraternity and be accepted, it is in their code, I have spoken to them about the fact-several times. There were several times I was recruiting a black person to join our fraternity and a black fraternity on campus would call me and tell me to not pursue him, he was "their ground to indoctrinate first," I swear those were the words I was told on multiple occasions. If you want to know more about me, I lived in the same house as Johnny Carson did when he was in our fraternity.

I am not a racist, I am pointing out how ridiculous blacks have gotten. Have you ever researched anything in your life? Whites are shot by police more than blacks, there are more whites in jail than blacks, there are more whites on welfare than blacks, I am saying that blacks think they should have better rights than whites and yet they have the same rights.
