Kindah like asking Black people if they want a boat ride back to Africa don't you think?

Not at all. I hear it all the time, "We built this country for free", "We want reparations for slavery". I say okay.

What better way to pay them back than to give them 13% of the country?

At this point, I think this is a problem that will never go away.

Not as long as the first thing a person does is label and classify a person, based on no more than the pigmentation of their skin.

The number of people that actually think they know what and who a person is, just because of their pigmentation, is nauseating.

I expect this ridiculous, thinly veiled, bigotry from other sites. In fact there are sites that cater exclusively to this crowd. I am sure you will hear all the things you want to hear and get plenty of pats on the back, for your well thought out intellectual comments, if you take your comments to those sites.

I would like to think that the members at ATS can at least feign the denial of ignorance, since it is the ATS motto.

In the Civil Rights Era, Dr. King promoted the concept of complete integration, and that view won the day. Other civil rights leaders like Malcolm X wanted complete and total segregation along national lines that is, a separate Black Nation carved out of Mississippi (some also wanted parts of Georgia and Alabama as well) where all white people would be removed from the territory and all black decedents of African slaves in the USA would vacate the USA and move to this new Black Nation. They didn't want anything from the white people except for the creation of the national boundaries and the relocation of populations. But that idea died with the assassination of Malcolm X.

No matter how you try to hide it, use clever euphemisms, stylized syntax and PC speech patterns; the racism is glaringly
obvious.

That's due to the enormous size of the umbrella you're holding.

Didn't we do that with Indians?

I don't recall it being good idea back then, either.

the caption in your signature make this all so ironic, and more bizarre, you are convinced you are right and saying good things despite probably hundreds of posts refuting your 'ideas' (which I hope do not stem from a hateful or darker place). I think it would take and divine intervention to convince you otherwise.

how much longer is this thread going to stay open.
ive seen other threads get closed for lesser ignorance.

I believe it could work, if they had the initial backing and the support of those who wanted it to and the community around those businesses were willing to see it work. During the late 80's and early 90's there was a revival of those who were interested in their ancestors, from Africa, and one saw a raise of many businesses that would cater to Americans of African descent.

But it is costly, requiring time and money, along with educating both young and old on a new way to think and a new mindset. Running a state or even a city is alot of work, requiring laws and rules, and they would have to be fair and equal. There are those even in the different communities that would jump at the opportunity to do such, being independent and not relying on government handouts.

What would be required would have to be where people must be willing to take a chance, to move to a new place, to not live to fail, but live to win.

The purpose of my thread was to get feedback from African American members so that I can evaluate whether or not its even worth discussing and exploring further.

So far I've heard from 2 black folks (that I know of). One says no because he thinks black folks are incapable of running their own country, the other says no because it would be an insult and they already have Mississippi... lol.

The vast majority of the rest of the comments are by thought police who are foaming at the mouth waiting for just one black person to come in here and say yes.

If I'm wrong, then I'm wrong, but I do find it hard to believe after all I've read on this site that not one black person would be interested in having there own black nation right here in America.

Im sort of inspired by this, though.

I don't want the divide and conquer to work. Because ill tell you one thing: government doesn't care what color someones skin is....we are just grist for the mill.

You're own little piece of America. You're own country to run however you see fit.

So you want African Americans to move away from you and live elsewhere....

Let's assume for a minute that you're right, how would that be even remotely relevant to the question I'm asking?

You want them to set up their own state, and then move there, which means they would move out of your area....

I don't WANT them to set up their own state, but if it would make them happy I'd be willing to give up mine.

Well it certainly didn't go the way I was expecting.

Oh who am I kidding, of course it did.

Political correctness has turned honesty into something dirty.

The human psyche is a very curious thing. If I had posted this instead, do you think this conversation would've turned out the same way?

\"All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of his possessions were his own but they shared everything they had.\" - Acts 4:32
is your signature. This seems to me to be the antithesis of apartheid...

I agree with you most of the time Beezzer. Not this time. I don't think the OP is being sincere. This was not a fact finding mission. If it was, ATS would not be the place to find genuine answers to the OP's question. First of all the OP has absolutely no way of knowing if a poster is black or white. People are not always who and what they claim to be on the internet.

Second and probably the most important is the question in itself is suspect. I have worked with every race of people on the planet. I have assisted the richest of the rich and the poorest of the poor, and I have never heard anyone say they wanted to live in a place where they would be isolated into themselves and separate from all other people that are of a different color. The only time I have heard these separatist rantings, it has come out of the mouth of a person that was white.

For some reason bigots think heaven will fall to Earth if everyone different for them where removed from the planet. I wish they could live in this fantasy utopia they want so badly. That is exactly the kind of hell they deserve, to be locked in a land with people exactly like themselves for all eternity.

I am done with this thread. The rest of you can go on pretending this is an open and frank discussion about solutions and alternative to the black man's dilemma, but you are being disingenuous.

Not some BS Israel deal where something like 15% of the population got 50% of the land, but a fair 13%.

What would you say to such an offer?

how about giving right-wing Christians their own little piece of America...maybe Alabama and Georgia combined. that way they can own slaves, repeal the ACA, repeal voting rights, cut taxes down to the bone, repeal all government social services, repeal all business regulations, Christian schools only, bibles in every school desk, no inter-racial marriage, no gay marriage...etc.

How about stop trying to demonize a entire group of people for the actions of a minority of Hypocritical jerk offs?
Notice i used HYPOCRITICAL. A CHristian would not support slavery in this country. Or revoke voter rights or all social services. And especially owning slaves. thats not very christian according to the New covenant is it? Youre suggestting a theocracy which even most people in the US no matter the state would oppose.
