I would say he "slipped" and maybe had incidental contact with the back of the chair, which was then "felt" by the woman.

I wonder what he did when he touched the girl?

It seemed to me they were saying that he was free to look at something that she had near her or on the computer. He walked around with his camera to document whatever she was referring too. My guess he touched her shoulder when he leaned down with the camera. Clearly non-threatening.

They all had their badges and IDs obscured so he couldn't identify them. She said something about showing hers, he walked around and held his camera in front of it and then sat back down.

OK that makes sense. I thought she was showing him a list of the officers on their "staff" .

Looks to me to be unlawful discharge of a firearm. No warning when they approached him no identification nor any commands which are all required in a situation not insisting immediate action be taken to prevent someone from harming another individual. If someone grabbed at my camera which was attached around my neck I might be inclined to defend myself as well. Since they did not say anything how was he to know they were not impersonating an officer. This is why poilce have such procedures. This is why they identify themselves and give commands. The one who fired a shot in a room full of people uninvolved (not to mention the penetrating power of a round fired at such close range to other walls where presumably others may be just on the other side of is extremely irresponsible and wreckless. Some innocent person sitting at a desk could be dead over something those two supposed officers should have been able to handle is seriously sad. That man should be seeing multiple felonies and a cell for 5-10 years at least. Good god...so much wrong with this...I ...I ...I'm actually stunned no one was really injured or killed.

I like that spectrum of force where you stroll up to someone and grab their camera, then try to gut shoot them. Probably why he's a "former" SO.

No matter who initiated the attack, that was an illegal discharge of a firearm.

We must hold our police and security personal to the same standard as a lawfully-armed citizen and this man did not pose an immediate life-threatening threat to anyone.

I'd have to question how this "guard" was trained and if he knew exactly in what circumstance he had the authority in which to discharge his firearm.

I don't see a problem as all, we all must realize that the "authoratA" has the right to draw and shoot anytime they "feel" slightly threaten....

Even worse you see after the other officer or whatever he was has the guy pinned almost taunting him saying "are you done" standing there with his hand on his gun ready to draw and fire again. Imagine if he broke free he would surely be dead...no really look at his posture and readiness to draw down again!

With close to 30 years in the military if a person draws on me I would kind of take it personal...

Um the guy with the camera attacked the security guard...

Like no doubt about it, he made the first punch and plenty after.

Did the security guard have the right to do what he did, maybe not, but the guy didn't havehavethe right to do what he did either.

I don't agree with the firing of the weapon though, no way that was a good idea in that room.

Apparently, the supposed ex-LEO guard had the Police complex big time. He believes he can do whatever he wants and his former buddies will seize the cameras and submit false police reports. Skidmore's lawyers are going to have a field day with this.

Problem is, the security guard assaulted him first. You can't just walk up to someone in plain clothes and start grabbing them. He had not committed any crime and was not threatening anoyone with violence or even verbally. I suspect he knows this as he is a former corrections officer who knows the law. He also had a strap around his neck that was attached to that camera. Maybe he shouldn't have done that, but at that point it is his right to defend himself.

Yeah, he should have placed himself at the mercy of an armed psycho with was attempting to strangle him for exercizing his right to participate in his government.

After he was assaulted by the guard.

Who the hell gave that moron a gun?

Good thing there was a camera there.

That old guy got him good but I don't see how he thought drawing and firing was the solution. Though it probably wasn't an intentional discharge.

Improper/next to no training.

Would be interesting to find out if the former SO quit or were fired.

Yeah, but he's a jumped-up mall cop now. I'm not sure the blue line will streeeeetttch to cover him anymore.

There is definitely going to be scrutiny from lawyers, judges, etc. I think he will be fired anyway for firing the weapon in the meeting room when he never said a word but started the altercation trying to show his eminent power lol!
