Possibly the most hated christian in the US because he teaches what people hate, the truth

if you want to be confronted by what evolutionists hate, if you want to hear the alternative to evolution and why creation is so widely accepted in the church
If you want evidence for creation, real evidence then try search links to his teachings on creation.

i suspect he will be jailed or killed, the world and evolutionists hate him so much.

Its funny, murderers get less than he got, drug sellers and serial criminals, he just taught what the world hates, the truth. His trial and sentence was justified because of what he taught, the truth.

So let the hate pour in to this thread, predictable I know but worth it.

Just a side note to christians, this world hates the truth, Hovind suffered for it.

God didnt promise christians health and wealth, He promised us trial and suffering

Why wouldn't he be a free man? It isn't illegal to publicly lie and distort the truth.

Be the bigger man than you claim, watch his videos and then rebut them.

You could even prove him wrong and I would have to join your ranks of the scientific religious

Talk is loud but empty, evidence is something you cant argue. KS you are a ringing bell with nothing but noise, sorry, baseless nothing.

I call mine a faith, you say science is your foundation but I havnt seen you offer anything but assumption....ever.

Why? I'm already familiar with what he has to say. I've seen it all before. It's not like his message has changed since the last time you brought him up on ATS.

You are right. I COULD prove him wrong. It's really easy, but you won't listen to it because you aren't open to opposing viewpoints despite your claims to the contrary.

You're right. You can't argue with evidence. That's why you usually just ignore it and pretend it hasn't been posted.

I can't help it if you aren't willing to open your mind to consider outside possibilities.

PS: You didn't answer my question.

Kent Hovind wasn't put in jail for what he said, he was put in jail for what he did. He broke the law by evading taxes. This is a perfect example of a "persecution complex". Let's ignore what the guy actually did wrong and instead focus on what the bible says about persecution. If you evade taxes, you're arrested, no matter what you preach.

Yeah, I think he was jailed for taxes but you may be right...Al Capone was nailed on Taxes because they couldn't get him any other way. So maybe the powers that be were after him.

Anyway...I'm not a Christian and so not really a believer in Genesis...and Genesis is very vague anyway. We have some proof of Evolution and it's the best we have so far.

It's not wrong to bring up questions regarding evolution or the creation of our planet. We should bring up questions..why did this happen, where is this fossil, why don't I see this, and why did that happen? But questioning isn't the same as just flat out debunking evolution.

And you can't really get rid of evolution with out a good replacement which is what?

my understanding is .. he didnt pay his taxes, cos he despised the idea that his tax money was being used to teach lies to the masses of kids in the public schools where it is now illegal to teach creation alongside evolution and give the kids their own educated choice .,. or something to that effect ..

that part seems to always get missed .. and just left at 'he didnt pay his taxes' .. tut tut ...

not debating here .. just adding to the picture of why he did it ...

Never heard of the guy, so I had to look him up.

Kent began serving a ten-year prison sentence in January 2007 for federal court convictions on 58 counts: 12 tax offenses, one count of obstructing federal agents, and 45 counts of structuring cash transactions.

Well he didn't go to jail for what he was saying. Not surprised that borntowatch distorted the truth to try to gain credibility for his claims. It certainly is funny how when noted Creationists cause their own hardships, other Creationists adopt a persecution complex to defend them. That's why I didn't take this thread seriously and bother familiarizing myself with Hovind's current status. I've seen enough of his drivel to know that he's an idiot and I know enough of the law to know that no one is going to arrest him for being and sounding like an idiot.

Oh, I'm familiar with his Young Earth creationism and lived not far from one of those Creation Museums that teach that human and dinosaurs interacted and other such lies....Just never heard his name.

So, that's why I say, "Yep, con man through and through!"

I've heard of the man. I've seen his stuff. This isn't the first time I've seen borntowatch show his bromance for the man in an evolution thread. Windword is correct. He is a conman. Plain and simple.

no no .... i can appreciate you agree with his opinion ...
but when you and others make absolute claims like 'he is correct' ... grandiose claims from people that speak as though they are an authority on most things .. i tend to just switch off and lose interest in them ... seen you around the forums here speaking to many as though you are an authority on much .. oh my what a load of crap you talk mate ... am usually passive .. but since you spoke with me .. there it is .. you are full of non sense man ...
ehhh .. what were you saying ...

Fine. I don't care if you don't believe. I'm not going to lose any sleep over you thinking I'm full of crap. You can either take in what I'm saying as the truth or you can choose to not believe it. I really don't care one way or the other, nor are you the first to tell me this. I don't give a crap if you don't like me. There are plenty of people on this forum that don't like me, because I'm abrasive and passive aggressive. Oh well. But don't pretend like you are actually contributing something to the discussion here.

Well 9 times out of 10 Christian kids who attend public schools have already been taught creationism is right and evolution is wrong before they ever got to evolution in school and have already had their mind made up.

If they hadn't been taught creationism beforehand then they will most likely side with their parents on the issue of evolution/creationism anyways once the issue is brought up. If a kid hears about evolution and decides it's more logical then they have made their own mind up, unfortunately this usually isn't the case because creationism is pounded into their head so many times from birth that they begin to believe it despite opposing viewpoints.

Either way though, the means did not justify the ends, they guy evaded paying taxes which is against the law. If he doesn't like the law then he can move somewhere where they don't pay taxes.

Oh, lord help us all...

Trust me, he's no threat to evolutionists. The threat is to those that actually believe his BS. That's why he is dangerous.

But regardless, the prosecutors didn't give two flips about the BS he preaches - he broke the law and paid for it. Plain and simple.
