And let's be fair. Even when he was president he was still Putin's lapdog.

Which leads to a really interesting question.
US and Russia both have a well established system for replacing their head of state (Putin has only been in the position for three years, and has done great things for Russians, if not so great things for relations with their neighbours. Obama is on his way out).

UK on the other hand, hasn't had a new head of state for 60 years.
The UK - and the world, are a very different place than the 50s.

I can also think of quite a few people based in the UK with actual power, who may well just be biding their time till she kicks the bucket before trying to cement that power.
I don't think anyone really has the stomach for a coronation service, the wedding is already the butt of international jokes, least of all Charles.

Could the UK see a Tito style civil war when she dies?

this may warrant a separate thread, but then the background of how we got here would also need to be repeated. what do you think?

David Cameron took office in 2010 your a fool with no understanding of politics. You don't even know how long Putin has been in control sad really. The only time he was out of office was when the Russian constitution said he could not run. His solution get the law changed and he's back president for life.

You seem thoroughly confused.
Cameron took office in 2010 and has never had any power.
Putin has been the Head of State (president of Russia) for 3 years but has had power for decades.

Putin was made Head of State because he demonstrated an ability and willingness to use his power for the good of the people he is charged with looking after, as democratically as democracy gets.
The UK's Head of State was made Head of State (before Putin was even born) because her family owns (or at least used to, before she squandered her inheritance over the last 50 years) most of the world.

My posit, is when she finally goes (which can't be long now, She is already in no fit state for the job), the vacuum that is left will go the way of every other dictatorship with no clear succession protocol - civil war (I'm guessing 2011 is the closest you've ever been to one of those).

When Putin goes, they may be lucky enough that someone as good at his job take his place, but most likely Russia will carry on pretty much onward and upward whatever.

is what you are being told by your propaganda.
but it simply isn't true.

the fact the main buyers of London property are now Russians should tell you it isn't. and London prices are still cheap compared to Moscow.

Care to provide something of substance to back the claim...because you saying it simply isn't true just doesn't work.

you mean like his substantiated claims of the opposite?

Are you saying Russians aren't snapping up London property like kids in a candy store?

Her's an example of said propaganda
www.telegraph.co.uk...

Riiiight.
So the russian economy is soooo bad they have more money than they know what to do with.
Well gee. Bet you wish the UK crisis was like that.

Here this should explain the reason why...and my post wasn't about them buying real estate it was about you saying something is propaganda without showing evidence of it being.

According to the Financial Times (£), well-to-do Russians – and Ukrainians too – "are trying to shift more cash into London property ... amid indications that eastern European oligarchs are using the capital’s housing market to conceal their assets from international sanctions". (And this despite a recent "tax crackdown" by George Osborne, apparently.)

www.theguardian.com...

They are buying real estate to hide their money from sanctions...but of course this must just be propaganda because of course unless it makes Russia look good it is obvious propaganda.

You do understand that those buying real estate in London aren't middle class citizens...it is the oligarchs trying to find a way of hiding assets that have a problem because of sanctions.

Care to prove what you posted was propaganda and not just that because you said it was?

Why exactly would I wish that?

Seems your making assumptions without actually having a clue as to what your saying.

Agreed.
Definately not middle class citizens by UK and US standards :p
But then who cares about poor people?

Do you even know what an Oligarch is?
The non newspeak word is "Entrepreneur"

And definitely not middle class in any standards. Middle class doesn't give you the ability to buy homes in other countries, but feel free to show us how it does?

Do you even know what an Oligarch is?

Bigger question is do you?

No the oligarchs stole government property to become Rich.Putin was one of the worst offenders of all most Russians at least 55 percent are having problems buying food and clothes these are not the people hiding assets. In 1994 executives at Russia's only Swiss Central Bank accredited bank, Oneksim Bank came up with a plan to help then-President Boris Yeltsin and his administration raise some cash while distributing the companies.

The plan was called "loans for shares." Russian banks lent the government money in exchange for temporary stakes in state-owned companies. If the government defaulted on its loan, the banks got to keep their stakes.Entire government asstes were seized for pennies on the dollar. Russian voters called this policy "prikhvatizatsiya," or "grabification." These aren't entrepreneurs they are thief's who owe there wealth to Putin. And the money he stole after the break up of the soviet Union it is no coincidence that most of the oligarchs were former KGB.

No they did not you just make things up regularly in your defence Of Putin. None of these were stolen from the government in the UK. And again who cares about the UK. Quite frankly the UK is screwed up to never been a fan but yet your infatuation with them is funny. Especially since you know so little about them.

This thread is about Putin lies and propaganda not the UK. So your point has nothing to do with Putin and how he gained control by stealing money from the Soviets hiding it on foreign banks than using that money to buy government assets. Being KGB he literally stole the government from the people. And now has used his position to jail or kill anyone that opposes him.
