Not looking good here. BPD is about to get nailed to the wall I think. This will likely kick off another round of protests. There is a lot hitting twitter right now.

Now if the previous account from the guy in the van is accurate, then this matching could be the result of what he said about Gray bashing himself into the wall to cause injury.

Preliminary findings from the medical examiner’s office indicate that Freddie Gray’s fatal injury was caused inside the transport van, WJLA reports.

According to multiple law enforcement sources, the investigation has found no evidence that Gray's fatal injuries were caused during the videotaped arrest and interaction with police officers.

Sources briefed on the findings of a police report tell WJLA that Gray apparently broke his neck when he slammed into the back of the police van. The sources noted that a head injury Gray sustained matches a bolt in the back of the van.

What caused Gray to slam into the back of the van was unclear. The officer driving the van has yet to give a statement, WJLA reports.

The protesting masses don't care what happened. He could have broken his neck while attempting to grab a cops gun.

If Baltimore is unprotected they will attack.

So while the other thread I had says the police stated he was fine prior to getting in the van, this one makes it look like they are building up to the case that he did it to himself in the van. Will be VERY interested to see what a coroners report says on this one.

How is this news getting leaked anyways? I though the BPD had issued very strict orders not to release anything to the public at this time....

True, but if this comes down to BPD using the story of the other guy in the van as what happened and Gray did this to himself, that is going to explode the scene there I think.

If Freddie 'slammed' his head against the van, breaking his own neck (3 vertabrae and a crushed larynx), he must have done this before he had his legs shackled, right?

No matter what the result is nationwide riots,protests and craziness will result if these cops aren't shown to the public in handcuffs. Get ready because these cops aren't getting indicted

Oh boy...That's not good. Are they working up to the conclusion that it was Freddie's fault and not theirs?

There are some conflicting statements about this ride in the van. In the beginning, the third stop where they picked up the prisoner, Freddie Gray was unresponsive. Does anyone remember that? If he was unresponsive at that time then the prisoner's statement of Freddie trying to injure himself is a lie.

This is starting to feel like a cover-up.

Why don't they tell us if there was blood on the van?
Is the bolt on the side wall or the back wall or the back door of the van?
Was Freddie Gray trying to push the door open?
Did the other prisoner in the van have contact with Gray?

The media is doing their best to prolong the disturbance.

Another possibility is that Freddie Gray was a three strike felon sure to go to prison and he just did not want that outcome and would rather die. He was a career criminal according to police records.

In my opinion this is how is going to end, Gray was injured during his arrest, but it wasn't until he was in the van that he served his head and went into coma after "allegedly hitting himself around", the police department will pay the family the 200 thousand dollars that the city by law will only pay, the polices officers will be charge with "excessive force and that will be the end of the Gray issue and the police brutality issue

Life will go as usual until the next case of death in the police custody.

Is up to the people to make something of this or just fade in the background and keep festering in their misery.

So, what do we have here?

1 - A neck broken ny 80%.
2 - A crushed windpipe.
3 - A head injury.

Will the real killer please stand up...

Why the leg shackles? Freddie Gray was probably kicking and combative inside the van. This really sounds like a case of a crazy criminal taking things too far and the media and the uneducated public want to cause trouble. I think the public is about to get clowned once again. See other race baiting events for example such as Duke Lacrosse and Tawanna Bradley.

Do you believe that he would be able to gain enough force to crush three of his own vertabrae if his legs were trussed up behind him to stop his kicking?

This was Freddy doing his best to make it look like he'd been roughed up so BPD would have to settle out of court,

But he went OTT and got more than he bargined for...It was an scam that went bad..
