ATS POLL: Which Country Represents the Biggest Threat to Humanity?

When evaluating a threat, capability to do damage is a much more significant factor to consider than intent to do damage.

That said only three countries even qualify as a world threat...and not equally. Only one nation is strong enough to threaten all the others - the "big three" included.

It's true.. The Threat is where the power lies.
The avoidance of a threat is also where the power lies.

America psst. We are the most stable government in the history of mankind, shining beacon of democracy. Sure we've made mistakes but in 100 years how many of those countries will even exist? The good ole USA will.

I'd say 9 years max from now ( and that's quite generous).

The greatest threat to humanity is not any particular country... it's Corporatism, the rise of 'Free Trade' agreements and that all began to threaten humanity in the 80's.

When the 'bottom line' interests of a few conglomerates impoverish billions, that is where the real threat is.

In my humble opinion, of course.

It could be greed, apathy, intentional distractions in the media - all manner of things but this poll was specifically about nations.

I have a collegue who is married to a hungarian and travels over to Hungary quite often so this opinion comes from the people out there and the observation from someone who does not live there. It is : The ex soviet states are currently experiencing severe pressure and propoganda from Russia. Watch out Russia wants the soviet empire back.....

Britain has lasted uninterrupted 356 years or 949 depending on if you dont count our experiment with a full republic.

USA has a few centurys to go before it can count itself as most stable.

As for shining beacon of democracy? Dont make me laugh. Your two party system is a fing joke. UK not much better either before you point that out but there are countrys far more democratic than the both of us.

A meaningless chart since it's based on percentage population and absolute costs. totally the wrong way round!!!! but of course it's done like that on purpose isn't it. It should be absolute population and indexed (for inflation ie percentage) for the cost.

I'm not discounting Russia, they're definitely a close second.
But the country who has the greatest power, who has waged the most recent wars, who has used the most destructive weapons ever against other human beings and who has military bases in more countries than any other!!
