Parallel universe how stupid. Only God believers would fall for something so stupid. Living inn the fantasy world they do. Your parallel universe in in your dreams.
SO a machine will show that an alternate universe exists. One that has the same planets galaxies numbering in the trillions, ( probably a number that we have not even defined yet ) and they would all exist in the same alinement with same environment. Wow that is just craziness. Science is good. But this is junk science and a waste of time. Now the possibilities of another demention could be there and can and should be investigated. But a Universe of an exact copy is just ludicrous. Now another Universe outside a universe might be a possibility. But parallel, come on get real. Stop smoking that funny stuff. No number exists to try and calculate the possibility of such a thing. Much less a parallel earth itself. But a whole universe. Just stupidity. You talk about science, but use no science to validate any such claims being possible. Just dreams and hope like faith in the fairy tale of a god. All this is probably due to those beliefs that is why i say that. ( where is heaven? where is Hell? Where are these ghosts and spirits? ) This hype is why keeps the dreamer thinking it possible. No evidence. Just impossible math to prove the unlikelihood of it being true which i state and no one has a contrary argument and I am the one that is off. Get a clue. Nothing but a fairy tale the religious propagate. And now some other sheeple follow the belief that it could be.

This is the beginning phases of answers we may see in this kind of science. That is to say there aren't any definitive answers on this specific topic, lots of widely renowned theories, but just that, theories. I just find it entertaining that you have an emotional response to people looking for answers and that were willing to admit we don't know yet, hence the experiments. The way you react to this thread is how I'd expect someone fighting science, first groups that come to mind are the religious ones, on the far end of the spectrum as most of them will humor science as well. or I could be wrong. Maybe I should heed your advice and declare all exploratory science stupid, after all if we find out that the earth isn't flat than we will have to throw away all our maps.
Lay off the fluoride.

.....and in the parallel universe, the other Roth 1 says the exact same thing. Some things never change.

On a lighter note (in order to laugh to keep from crying as they say) can somebody tell them if they DO contact an alternate universe, can they please ask if people there are freaking out b/c Berenstain Bears is spelled BerenstEin Bears, because we want our books back.
I wonder how many ATS'ers got this reference?
Epic, by the way.
How big is the universe? What are the possibilities of and exact copy of Earth? Now what are the possibilities of an exact copy of everything and everything on it

The staggeringly complex LHC ‘atom smasher’ at the CERN centre in Geneva, Switzerland, will be fired up to its highest energy levels ever in a bid to detect - or even create - miniature black holes.
If successful a completely new universe will be revealed – rewriting not only the physics books but the philosophy books too.
It is even possible that gravity from our own universe may ‘leak’ into this parallel universe, scientists at the LHC say.
The experiment is sure to inflame alarmist critics of the LHC, many of whom initially warned the high energy particle collider would spell the end of our universe with the creation a black hole of its own.
But so far Geneva remains intact and comfortably outside the event horizon.
Scientists at Large Hadron Collider hope to make contact with PARALLEL UNIVERSE in days
What?
Just what the hell are they playing at over in Switzerland?
Attempting to create mini black holes?
Attempting to open up parallel universes?
I am all for discovering new things and appreciate science is relatively still in its infancy, but what happens if this little experiment goes dramatically wrong, it could be the end of everything.
I'm sure in this day and age, risk assessments have been conducted, but what's to stop a little Black Hole growing into the Daddy of Black Holes?
The truth is, they do not know,

People a whole hell of a lot smarter than you or I have theorized that parallel universes could (and probably do) exist.
I'll take their word over the inane ramblings of people on the internet.

Wouldn't it be cool if a 'Big Bang' occurred next door because of the LHC? Imagine if our 'leakage' causes the genesis of creation in a neighbouring universe?

The only thing they need is the trace of a single particle , that due to the mysterious Higgs_Boson , appearing where something should not have appeared. Voila, could be proof of the multiverse (the parallel universe is a different theory that states all universes in the multiverse exist in space/time at the same relevant position as all others)
