Was just getting ready to post that.

The rumors are all over the place - From his death to the supposed birth of his child from a mistress, a coup by the military hawks and an assassination in response to the opposition leader who was recently killed..

Lets go optimistic - The announcement will be Extraterrestrial disclosure.

ETA - It just dawned on me that this supposed announcement is occurring at the weeks end. Generally speaking releasing information on a weekend / going into the weekend suggests its not good news.

"Important announcement of Kremlin" in the style of announcements of the death of Brezhnev. Seems Putin is going out of politics, be he dead, in severe condition or ...retiring (less likely).

Of course I don't know the real cause and will learn it from Kremlin announcement.

Medvedev acting president by constitution? Here is what one blogger from Ukraine writes.

Famous Ukrainian blogger Vitaly Kim said that according to his source, now all power in the Kremlin in the hands of Medvedev, including the management of the armed forces. Also seen military helicopters landing on the governments to the building, in the Kremlin and in the center of Moscow near the center of situational control:

Putin In Italy For Birth of Secret Love Child?
The Russian leader has been missing, prompting speculation he’s deathly ill—but Italian and Swiss media says he’s just been in Lugano for the birth of his baby.
Russian president Vladimir Putin appears to be back at the Kremlin after a mysterious disappearance that had people wondering if the Russian leader might be seriously ill or at risk of a coup. But a Swiss newspaper says the Russian playboy was just in Lugano for the birth of his lovechild.

In an article titled Es ist ein Mädchen! or “It’s a Girl,” the paper Bilk claims that Putin and his alleged 32-year-old lover, Olympic gymnast Alina Kabayeva, welcomed their daughter at the private Santa Anna di Sorgeno clinic in the Italian-speaking canton of Ticino on the Italian border—a favorite playground for wealthy Russians.

The plot thickens.

Russian channel 'Rossiya 24' prematurely reports on Putin meeting which has yet to happen

Bizarre TV report about Putin meeting with Kyrgyzstan President comes amid speculation over Russian President's location Russian state TV channel 'Rossiya 24' has prematurely reported on the results of a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Kyrgyzstan President Almazbek Atambayev despite the fact that the meeting is not scheduled to take place until Monday 16 March. Another Russian state TV channel 'Rossiya 1' has also reported the same. During a March 13 news bulletin a Rossiya 24 journalist reported: "The Kremlin also reports that Vladimir Putin met with Kyrgyzstan President Almazbek Atambayev on Monday. They talked about cooperation in investment and humanitarian spheres and the energy sector. They also discussed the possibility of Kyrgyzstan joining the Eurasion Union." The TV channel later acknowledged to BBC Russian Service reporters that the report had been a mistake. Vladimir Putin disappeared from public view on March 5, sparking speculation as to his whereabouts. He was last seen publicly during his meeting with Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi. In an apparent bid to quell speculation surrounding the Russian President's current location and status, the Kremlin released a video on March 13 of Putin meeting with Russia's top judge. Ukrainian news agency TSN reports that the video strongly resembles archive footage from a previous meeting held on 21 November, 2014. Putin's extended absence has led to a flurry of rumours on social media and claims that the Russian leader may be seriously ill or the victim of a palace coup. Putin is usually heavily featured in the tightly-controlled Russian media, where his daily schedule typically dominates news bulletins.

I just mentioned this in the other thread, and it all seems to be BS.
The source vlasti.net claims that there are tweets suggesting journalists have been asked to remain available for the weekend, but I've checked the guys tweets and there is nothing like that for either yesterday or today.

They show two tweets, one doesn't exist in the guys account, and the other simply says something about Putin moving on to the next level of the game - a reference to his relations with the West.

I can't find anything suggesting there is any announcement planned.

In fact, the guy whose tweets they are showing is doing nothing but mocking the "nonsense" about all the rumors of Putin being ill, or dead, he hasn't said anything to lend any credibility to the suggestion of a coming announcement.

Coincidence or?

Nemtsov killing exposes cracks in Kremlin unity

MOSCOW (Reuters) - The killing of Russian opposition figure Boris Nemtsov within sight of the Kremlin has exposed rarely seen tensions between different camps inside President Vladimir Putin's system of rule.

No outsiders can know with any certainty what is happening behind the red-brick walls of the Kremlin, but some of Nemtsov's associates say his shooting is being used by one faction to send Putin a message that they are unhappy and need to be reckoned with.

That would represent a challenge to the foundations of Putin's 15-year-old rule, built on a rigid pyramid of power and the assumption of unshakeable loyalty.

"I think that perhaps Putin, even completely sincerely, was bewildered and even afraid," Vadim Prokhorov, Nemtsov's lawyer, said of the hours after the Feb. 27 shooting.

"Because if you can do that next to the Kremlin, then is it not possible to do it along the route of the (presidential) motorcade?" he told Reuters.

Feeding a mood of frenzied speculation in Moscow, Putin this week canceled a planned trip to Kazakhstan without explanation. A Kazakh official said Putin was ill, while the Kremlin said he was fine and working as usual.

Who is on which side in this rivalry, or even that such a rivalry exists, is impossible to establish with complete confidence because no one has publicly acknowledged any serious differences between camps.

Yet analysts point to signs of tensions between, on one side, the powerful head of Russia's Chechnya region, Ramzan Kadyrov, and on the other, the Russian state security agencies which are Putin's closest associates.

There have definitely been photos and tweets from Moscow residents showing at least one military helicopter landing.

There's even a video that supposedly has gone viral on Russian Internet showing what they claim is a Special Communications SCS helicopter commonly used in special operations.

What’s Going On In Moscow, Helicopter SCS President in the Center of Moscow

However, this was uploaded to YouTube on 12th, the same day that the FSB meeting was due to be held, the one Putin missed for the first time in 15 years.
But, these helicopters are generally not permitted to fly over Moscow, the last time they did was in May 2014, in what was also seen as extremely unusual and suspicious.

They do not usually travel to these annual meetings in these military helicopters, so that is another thing causing confusion and concern.

To be honest, I'm really not buying this notion that everything is perfectly fine. There is far too much going on suggesting otherwise.

The Kremlin has lied about Putin attending events on the wrong days
Putin has not been seen in public despite there being plenty of rumors he would want to put a stop to
He's canceled/postponed various important events
He's not attended the FSB meeting he's attended every time for 15 years
Russian military helicopters are flying into Moscow when this is not usually permitted

He is either ill, or dead, or been removed from power. And I think we're going to find out which it is in the next five days.

For a whole week, while watching the news and speculation about his death increasing the concern in his own government?

If Putin was to die, then I think it may make things worse. Whoever comes to power may try to ride off his success or even claim he was assassinated.

Think Hugo Chavez in Venezuela and the silly guy who they have in charge there now. Every week it's some conspiracy or plot or something or other. Anything to distract from the entire balls up that he's made. To be honest I have no idea what I'm talking about. They're probably not even comparable situations.

So you really think that he planned to have important meetings with allies, when he knew his child was due to be born?
He also doesn't mind millions of people thinking he's either ill or dead, when all he would need to do is have someone film him?
He's also happy to let his own government wonder what's going on, actually risking a coup while he's absent, just because he's "busy"?

This is a man who likes to project an image of him being in total control, he's paranoid of other powerful factions in his own government, he hasn't missed a meeting with the FSB in 15 years.

I'm sorry but I think you're just wishing for the best based on nothing, when all the evidence suggests something more concerning is actually happening there.

There's no reason for Putin to simply not appear to reassure people that he's still healthy, if he was he would have done that already.
