Unbreakable: Have to agree with this. Granted Saddam and Ghadafi were tyrants BUT there was order because these people were too afraid to pull this crap under those regimes. Iraq and Libya turned into sh!tholes after we stuck our nose in their business and removed those guys. The USA had a hand in helping to create this mess. Although ruling by fear is bad, those people can only be controlled by instilling fear. That's why they respond by their own brand of terror.

They do this wherever radical Islam takes hold. Remember the Buddhas in Afghanistan? The Sufi tombs in Africa? They don't see it as preserving history and heritage. It's a form of idolatry so it must all be destroyed.
Bearack: And anyone who thinks that if these guys are not willing to destroy thousands of year old artifacts because of their religious beliefs and leave non-muslims alone is sickly naive.
This is now officially a plague and if Muslims want to to try and save Islam from this perversion, they need to step up now and send EVERYTHING they have at these monsters to destroy it. If they leave these barbarians to their own devices, then they too are the problem!

That's as disgusting as imagining a few thousand entrenched and wealth-gorged elitists destroying all of human civilization's best potential and aspirations for insane, misplaced psychotic greed needs.

Wouldn't it be great if some of these artifacts are cursed and these scum are devoured alive by scarab beetles and their offspring are also cursed for eternity?
UMMM actually
The lamassu is a celestial being from Mesopotamian mythology bearing a human head, bull's body, sometimes with the horns and the ears of a bull, and wings. It appears frequently in Mesopotamian art. The lamassu and shedu were household protective spirits of the common Babylonian people, becoming associated later as royal protectors, were placed as sentinels at the entrances.[citation needed] The Akkadians associated the god Papsukkal with lamassu and the god Išum with shedu. To protect houses, the lamassu were engraved in clay tablets, which were then buried under the door's threshold. They were often placed as a pair at the entrance of palaces. At the entrance of cities, they were sculpted in colossal size, and placed as a pair, one at each side of the door of the city, that generally had doors in the surrounding wall, each one looking towards one of the cardinal points. The ancient Jewish people were influenced by the iconography of Assyrian culture. The prophet Ezekial wrote about a fantastic being made up of aspects of a human being, a lion, an eagle and a bull. Later, in the early Christian period, the four Gospels were ascribed to each of these components. When it was depicted in art, this image was called the Tetramorph.

Muslims that are moderate really need to get a grip on this thing that is ruining/corrupting the Koran's teachings. Do they not understand a 'reformation' needs to take place NOW; similar to the Christian reformation. They do not see what is coming; their own murder because they are not Jihadists, joining fighting along side them. Are they not the least bit worried? I would be. Where does Kuwait and Saudi Arabia stand on this. "Jihadi Johnny" (the well spoken one that their figurehead; behind the Teenage mutant ninja turtle mask that beheaded 4 people on camera) was just identified as Kuwaiti born; educated in London coming from a very wealthy family (that's embarrassing). I hope someone put a bounty on his head.

AuranVector: These ISIS/ISIL jihadists are NOT "ruining/corrupting" the Koran's teachings (as you say) -- they're following it.
Muhammad prohibited idolatry. Idols of gods are destroyed. It doesn't matter to these vicious, moral cretins that the idols are priceless, irreplaceable artifacts of human history. Islam has been toxic from its inception -- that's what the world needs to wake up to.
It's a "violent, totalitarian political system disguised as a religion." It's never been a spiritual path.
AuranVector: I need to add: Jihadi Johnny is not from a "very wealthy family" -- he's from a middle-class family (father was a taxi driver). JJ managed to get a computer degree from a university in London. So, no, he's not some disadvantaged youth in dire need of a job.

Thank you for understanding.
I'll break it down...
Muhammad preached the message...
The Arabians tried to diminish his efforts with many strategies...
They also tried to force their paganism in Mecca onto him and his followers...
He reacted in kind by destroying the statues they worshipped due to the Idolatry corrupting the Land...
Now in comparison to ISIS...
Who are not being forced into anything by anybody...
Who are smashing statues that are not idolised by anybody, but have a historical and educational value which ISIS frown upon for a number of reasons...
That, is why I have stated that the message was twisted for their own narrative.
