Is considered a religion by American standards while in Arab countries they call it their law, remember Islamic law rules government in Arab countries is not such thing as separation of state and religion Arab countries are rule by Islam.

People in western worlds tend to find difficult to view Islam as a law first so is easier to refer to it as a religion, as a law is a challenge to our constitution but as a religion is protected by it.
