There were "growing pains" in newly formed America but it ended by the 1830s. Given the circumstances it was understandable. Americans could not act as an integrated 'whole' till the Constitution was written.After that it took a little time to work out their "indentity" as Americans.
Despite all the turmoil following the war Americans never saw nor wanted their nation to be a multicultural, multiracial "melting pot", and the only religion the people considered amongst themselves, for themselves was Chrsitianity of one denomination or another.

Islam is not a religion is a set of laws, Islamic law, worshiped as a religion, bringing the misconception of Islam been a religion, while Christianity is base on faith Islam is first and foremost a set of laws more like Judaism is.

In the Arab world is not word to describe religion but they do have to describe their laws, the same Apply with Judaism is not word to describe religion neither.

The only reason that Islam is been viewed by the western as a religion is because they can not understand the separation of faith from laws, something that can be understood from Christianity, so the same is been applied to name Islam.

But is not the same, Islam is a law first as a law is not protected by the constitution because the constitution made sure that it will be not other laws in the land, So that is why in the US Islam is call a religion in order to offer protection under the constitution to those that worship the Islamic law, Research on historical data and understanding of Islam as a law first.

Always amazes me when people from a place whose familys moved to the usa years ago as immigrants moan about immigrants.

My father immigrated from Poland. Sorry but Poland has and always will be a completely different country than Mexico with a very different culture. The immigrants of Europe are and were MUCH different than those from the third world.
Compare those who came from Europe to those who are coming from Haiti, Somali, Mexico, Central America. And guess what my father never knew his father who was killed by the Nazis. His mother died at the age of ten. He was kicked out into the street at age 18 after the orphanage. And guess what? He got his own trade school education, learned English raised children without sucking a dime off of anyone. He didn't have more babies than he could support. And guess what? He flew the AMERICAN flag in his car and at the house. He cheered for THE US team n the world cups not the Polish!

Obama has only continued what past presidents have done, he continued on the same policies that the past clowns have implemented.

Why do we feel the need to place all the blame on one man? Obama inherited this mess, he didn't start it.

I dislike Obama just as much as the next guy, but to act like everything is his fault is ignorant and illogical. Why don't we put the blame on those who actually deserve it? Everyone in the federal government is to blame because they allow it to happen just as much as Obama does.

America NEVER experienced "waves" of immigration from third world non English speaking countries. You are dead wrong! The rate of immigration nowadays from countries like Mexico stands at record levels and if you think American society will remain intact you are clueless.

Oh for Christ's sake! All the Abrahamic religions have laws and have been expressed, at some point in time, as a theocracy! At one time, there was no separation between religion and government for the Jewish people. The same holds true for Christians when the Catholic Church became the regulators of law, internationally! And of course, the Vatican is a country, in its own right!

You can't separate Islam from the religion that it represents.

Now, I believe that Obama has ties to Islam but he is supposedly now a Christian. I am sure that Some of his relatives are Muslims. It is not bad to get along with Muslims, most are very decent people. I hope many of the Muslims feel the same way about the people here. You can't judge a whole religion by a few thousand radicals especially when the radicals are doing things that the religion doesn't really approve of.

Worshiping Islam is protected as a religion what is not protected is the Islamic law, two different things, I have a new computer and all my links were lost, most of this information is from research that I had from years ago that I still remember.
