It exists and there are females here on ATS that have portrayed themselves as both sexes in gaming and found discrepancies.

Indeed I agree,
-Women online get more attention
-They get more help
-They get free gifts from other players they hardly know
-They get friends invitations about 3x than men do
I should know, my GF is a gamer. It also reminds me of a MMO I was playing and this girl had 4 fully boosted characters in a year and didn't even have one and played for 6 years. Other players all the time we're asking if she needed help while I was there almost screaming for help. I even had other players CANCEL my mission to help HER get new sets of clothes that bring absolutely no stats. On top of this, I'm 5x better in every situation...bah I'm ranting, but it's all true.

What substantiates these claims is actual people, men and women, making claims of harassment and if you don't want to believe either the people being harassed nor companies that research this harassment, then there is really nothing that can be said to make you believe it, now is there?
In September 2012, a study showed that 45% of the polled female players already either received sexist comments or threats, or been harassed or provoked in the video game community while they were not playing, 5 times as much as men. 78% of women had their video games skill or taste challenged, compared to 6% of men. 11% of men and 7% of women admitted to being targeted by sexists comments or behaviors. Overall, 79% of the polled players think that sexism is prevalent in the video gaming community.[1] A study from 2006 showed that 83.4% of gamers had seen the words "gay" or "queer" used as derogatory names, and that 52.7% of gay gamers perceived the gaming community as "somewhat hostile" while 14% perceived it as "very hostile".[19]

As has been said, polls are not studies.
You should take off your victim goggles and join reality methinks....
Findings indicate that, on average, the female voice received three times as many negative comments as the male voice or no voice. In addition, the female voice received more queries and more messages from other gamers than the male voice or no voice.

The idea that GG is misogynistic is ludicris to any observant critical thinker anyway.
It's not about gender, it never was.
The mere fact there is a large segment of women supporting GG.
It's about what you do.
But as with feminism, to the critics, it's about the incidentals *sex etc* the shallow appearances of who you are.
And they show it day after day after day.

How about you provide studies that conclusively prove it's existence.
This door swings both ways, Neighbor.

How so?
You haven't provided anything of the sort.
