Steering back on track, a bit.
Is there forensic data from when the book was analyzed and I am sure, carbon-14 dated? Surely, leather is a great C14 candidate, but I was interested
in what was analyzed about the gold ink, it's chemical make-up, and if they did any SEM analysis of how the written text overlayed the leather. I
know that many fraudulent discoveries were turned up by SEM analysis on old documents, because it showed that the writing was layed down over the
patina, or aging of the surface, which showed that the writing was recent, done on old material.
Anyway, wonder if there is data that could be read about that. Thanks... Great Thread
