Yes, you sound like you couldn't run a lemonade stand. There is NO EQUALITY. There will ALWAYS be somebody somewhere who has an advantage over someone else.

John Wayne would agree.

Bill Gates or Warren Buffet has given away billions of his money. What have you given away?

Don't worry, it's quite normal to blame others for your own problems.

I dunno what they're afraid of since most people aren't focusing on the super rich and looking for some kind of justice. There was OWS, which was pretty peaceful and mocked by most of the world, sadly. Ferguson has nothing to do with the super rich and everything to do with police vs the black community.

So why are they so paranoid? The people are to distracted to care about them.

Nobody demands everyone gets paid the same...they demand to make enough for food and shelter when they work 40 hours.

Then maybe they should get more education, more experience, and more skills so they can provide more value and get paid more money.

Well you can be highly educated and have all the skills and still end up working a poverty wage job because its not your skill level its who you know these days and who you can make the most cash. I been there done that and it seems logic would follow you would b e better off,but when has big business been logical?

I have nothing to give away, I'm in debt, I live week to week. If I had money to give I would. Right now I drive illegally because I don't have enough to make my car capable of passing my state inspection. I've helped the occasional homeless person, I know it's not much, but I guarantee percentage wise of what I'm worth probably equivalent or more. Big difference is, I give money away I don't eat for a week, he gives that billion to what is likely some corrupt charity to look good he doesn't miss a meal or a fancy new car. He spends that money to buy looking good, but trust me, it doesn't really cost him anything. Most wealth still gets horded or used to amass more wealth for himself. Most money that goes to charities never makes it to the people that need it. Helping the economy will reach more people and do more than these charities will.

What is wrong with you people? There is always going to be inequality. It will never go away. We need inequality to exist until such time there is a Utopia where all people are equal, there is no need for money or commodities, etc. Until that time, there will be the need for money and when there is a need for money and services there will always be those who have more because they choose to spend it differently than others. Come on! It doesn't take a Rhodes Scholar to process that fact. a reply to: TrueAmerican

Inequality is one thing, a little bit of inequality is even good as it creates room for advancement. By the same token though too much inequality means that meaningful advancement ceases and that jobs at the bottom don't pay enough. How much of a gap should there be between the highest and lowest paid in any given country? 4x as Plato said? 20x as JP Morgan said? 30x as Japan believes (anything higher is considered dishonorable)? Is the 331x gap in the US acceptable?

Did you realize that purchasing power for the bottom 90% of Americans has declined over the past 30 years? It has only gone up for the top 5%. A large part of that is due to growing inequality, the bottom 90% is simply finding their wages to not outpace inflation. When 90% of the population is finding themselves going backwards why should they work harder? Wasn't that the whole problem with Communism? People didn't advance by working hard? We've got the same thing happening to us now and it's going to make the system collapse.

You still don't get it, it takes FAMILY EFFORT, to find real success today. Not one, lone, ambitious person. The fact that you don't understand my point, only further proves your ignorance about how money is really made in the USA.

Yup. The sad thing is, inequality begins at home.

Interesting.

Two thoughts. A. I keep reading the title of this thread with my mind substituting an "OL" for a "UT" ...startling. Why? I do a spit take all over my keyboard and only then I realize my mistake!

B. What an opportunity for the entrepreneurs among us! What this means is that the conventional power centers are de-centralizing and that some of the luxury services they take for granted will not be in their new locations. Assuming that the world won't end soon and even if it does most of us just have to keep carrying on for now, that means that we, if we're resourceful enough could move in to these new places and take a big chunk of that revenue. Message me if that sounds like an idea. I'm talking fitness, security, food, high end auto repair, contractors, entertainment! Thank of the possibilities!
Oh well, just a thought.

If your house is on wheels, you go around a lot of fees and laws. I am not so much worried about taxes. I don't want to pay 400 to 600 EVERY month to utilities. Also, I want to practice what I preach about conservation.

LEO's beat you to it, by a good 20 years. Yes, you too can pay lost fees, in the form of citations, while you dive your "home one wheels:

Why bother justifying yourself to someone? You know what you do and don't do and that should be enough. When people start trying to call you on whether or not you are "generous" enough to be able to take position A or position B in a debate, nothing you do or say will satisfy them.

They simply want you to stop taking your position and start defending yourself instead.

They don't want to realize it. However, they DO want to argue with people whom have the education and work experience, to analyze and summarize the situation, in plain language. Arguing that people whom take such a position, in opposition of income equality, are incapable of managing 'lemonade stands". They also didn't think for a minute that those taking this stance may have managed those "lemonade stands", so well, in a previous life, that they can now sit on the internet posting musings, on public conspiracy forums.

Too funny, Americans deserve every bit, of the ever increasing, Indentured Servitude that they are about to endure in the next decade.

OK, so you're trying to loophole your way around local building codes then? Good luck to you, code enforcement is going to eat you for lunch, unless you somehow have AEC experience or were at one time a code enforcement officer yourself. So, you are basically setting yourself up as a "citation machine" for the local government.

First, that's a filler article in the Mirror

What's the difference between a rich person having a property somewhere just in case and a survivalist with no money having a bug-out location set up? Only the amenities.

The media knows hate sells and the rich are high on the list of hated groups. I don't think they are panicked or doing anything they have not always done. Just another media story to get clicks or sell papers.

...and of course an opportunity for those with nothing better to do, to spew their venom and blame their woes on others.

Please, spare me all your bravado and whiney claptrap about the rich getting richer and the unfairness of it all. The few have the most wealth because they put in the long hours, worked the hardest, went to school and have taken calculated risks. We’re also smart, aggressive and know that ‘fat, lazy and stupid are no way to go through life.’

Not only do we re-invest our money to increase or wealth, we also buy land – lots of it . . . more land that you could ever dream of owning. We also give plenty back – to our church, charities, education, health, protecting wildlife & wild lands.

You know what you’d do if we (the super rich) decided to give all the poor and unfortunates $1 million each? You’d blow it. You’d blow it up your nose, on big houses, big cars, expenses trips, gambling, smokes, alcohol and online porn. You wouldn’t use it to better yourself or society. No, your lazy fat arse would waste it all on yourself and in a year (at best), the money would be gone, you’d be in debt and back on welfare again.

Oh, and go ahead – rise up . . . see if you can get 10 meters on my ‘bolthole’ before you run away with your tail between your legs. What little taxes I pay not only fund all the social programs you need to survive, but they also pay for my military and police. And if they aren’t around – my private security will take care of business. Next.
