~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Should have been abolished back in the dark ages of king herod.
Besides, there is but One-Crown: The Crown Of Thorns.
The fake 'crowns' are but faketards.
As of this post we are still running at approx. 60% in favour of abolishing the monarchy!!
Don't think there is likely to be too much deviation from that now.
But 220+ posts is a small but interesting Poll result!
Interesting how comparative it is with so called BS official polls.
The 60% in favour has been my experience over the last 30 years.
If you remove the Monarchy, you will possibly just have idle rich people. This way, they work to advertise your products to other nations. I'd say you have a good deal going, these days. Not so much a good idea in the past, when royals were brutal.
They are still brutal but ruthless and suttle about it!!!
NO
Nearly ever other British culture is being evaporated by either the PC Brigade or from the influx of immigrants.
We should keep what we have left to still give us a resemblance of our great and unique history.
Great and unique history? What? Colonialism, slavery, war-mongering, land-stealing, resource depletion and then a swift exit from a country when it's all gone? Riiight!
And, for the record, the Queen's finances are a tightly-guarded secret so no one can factually state how much she earns, how much she has and how much she spends.
Wiki link
The 'crown lands' are administered by the government which are collectively worth nine billion English pounds, the government 'gives' the queen roughly fifteen percent of the income from the 'crown lands' which is then spent on the upkeep of all the buildings owned by the 'crown lands' its also spent on wages, cooks, cleaners, drivers, construction workers, carpenters, farm workers, farriers, lord knows who else, ah yes, and on those banquets that visiting presidents get invited to. (and food, drink, petrol diesel, vehicle parts, and on and on and on) all of which has tax paid on it, which goes back to the government, a revolving payment scheme.
They GENERATE far more revenue for the people of the UK than what they are paid. The Royals are a huge cash-cow for the Exchequer.
Doesn't need a replacement. Tourism will not be affected because of UK history.
Remove the monarchy and there's more of a chance of a fairer and less greedy society!!!
Wouldn't be much different after they are gone!!
UK history is the main factor. Not a family of parasitic leaches that have no more right to be regal then you or I! if you go back a long way you will discover that the current royals are from a non so called regal bloodline!
The French woke up early and chopped the heads off their royals!!
As others have stated, people tend to mix with like minded people whether they intend to or not, the fact that it's been a topic of conversation for you for 30 years kind of validates that - we must be roughly the same age and I can't say it's something that comes up in casual conversation much, if at all in my own life.
On a conspiracy site where the majority typically would regard anything seen as 'mainstream' or 'part of the establishment' with mistrust, I think it's quite telling that actually 60% is quite low, especially since it includes so many who have only the vaguest concept of what modern monarchy actually is.
Yes.
PS I would like them to be returned to Germany with the exact amount of assets they arrived in the UK with.
Actually isn't there something about if enough people request a debate it has to be hald in parliament. Surely we should be looking at pushing a parliament who all think they will be parking their butts in the house of lords at £100 per day (for snoring and occasionally adding a gem of common sense from the more experienced ones to the dullards in parliament.
It is time for a debate about this in parliament and the people should have a referendum.
What you say in your post is something that also surprised me. I'm not sure why onlt 60% want to abolish and why, when the topic is raised, there are heated debates in favour of the scum.
Off topic - the same thing happens when I write threads about the racist party for the dumbed down UKIP - there's so much support for them on here I wonder what's happened to this place.
Except they are not German and anyway, forced repatriation is something tyrants do and the BNP supported.
I'm a NO for two reasons.
1. The monarchy is integral to our system of Parliamentary democracy which broadly works.
2. I have seen no other models that work any better. For example, a republic with a president concentrates more central power, and looking at France costs rather more!
Regards
Rather than make an irrational and political point by voting one way or another, I would like to suggest a third option...
How about we run the numbers and see how economically viable the Monarchy is before we decide to throw a tantrum and kick them all out?
While I despise the notion that someone can be instantly rich beyond their wildest dreams and be considered to be more important than anyone else simply because of the genitals used to create them, I have to think logically about this and ask how much money this "institution" brings to our country, in comparison to the money spent on their upkeep.
It's not simply a matter of being annoyed at their sense of privilege and entitlement. We should be running the numbers to see if they are actually working for us and bringing in a considerable profit, a profit that will have to be replaced if we disband the notion of Monarchy.
