I support in no way war in any form.

I support only world peace.

Peace is the answer.

Let me know when the troops actually start working towards world peace.
Let me know when the troops actually start defending freedom and justice within the borders of the USA from the corporate greed that has infested the country.
Let me know when the troops actually start defending freedom and justice within the borders of the USA from racism.
Let me know when the troops actually start defending freedom and justice within the borders of the USA from lying politicians.
Let me know when the troops actually start defending freedom and justice within the borders of the USA the evils of materialism.

Let me know when the troops actually start defending freedom and justice within the borders of the USA from inequality and poverty.

Let me know when the troops actually start defending freedom and justice within the borders of the USA from police brutality.

Let me know when the troops actually start defending our right to privacy within the borders of the USA.

Let me know when the troops actually start defending freedom of science within the borders of the USA.

Just let me know when the troops actually start defending freedom and justice within the borders of the USA at all.

Um you are not talking about soldiers with this bs post, you are looking religion, or the justice league.

Superman is imaginary, and this supposedly perfect world you think we should live in does not niw and never will exist.

Where the hell do you come up with this bs?

The military is barred by law from enforcing anything on the american people, except in extreme need ie..marshall law.

A little thing called posse comitatus.

...what evs " you cant fix stupid" ron white

If people want them to be seen as heroes they need to emulate that which we would consider heroic.

My heroes dont kill innocent kids. . .

Killing innocents for corporate greed and occupying peoples countries isnt heroic at all.

What we need is world peace, not world war.

Start at home and clean up the mess within our own homes before we go out and dictate how others should do things.

Anyone who supports the murder of children and calls it heroic is wrong.

Wtf?
My battle buddies do not kill kids.....
I mean obvious we hust walk into a war zone and shoot every kid we see right?
We take a lot of casualties, because kids have bombs on them and our guys dont want to shoot them.
Where do you get this baby killer bs?
You are the least informed person I have ever discussed war with.
I am a vet, I know first hand.
You are a troll, that watchs too much world peace propaganda.
This world is founded and based on agression, it is survival of the fittest.
You are living in a futile imagined world.
Look around you, every single creature and plant on this entire plant lives in the real world.
The strong survive, the weak suffer what they must.
Just be glad that so many of us strong volunteered to protect you, from agressors.
Would you like the fight to be here, in your neighborhood with your kids, or would you like it to be sombody elses?
The fight will happen, this is a fact, it is a rule of all life.
There is no exception, all the way from viruses and othet microbes all the way to us.
We are all a part, we all bound by these same realities.

Kids die in wars, our tax money and people go forth to kill.
If we didnt support the war they would still be around.
All war is evil, and I support world peace not world war.
Calling me a troll because I dont suport the death of innocents in unjust wars?
World peace is the answer not world war.

You are being irrational.

You are saying peace is the natural state, and we are causing war.

When in reality, war is the natural state, look around this is a fact.

We have not seen large scale war with millions of casualties in just a couple years since the last world war.

We are getting closer to your goal man.

You just demand it now, and that is not possible.

We are getting there though.

Anither thousand years and maybe we will be close.

I'm thankful for those brave men that fought in the civil war and the revolutionary war.

They DID fight for our rights.

I can say that troops have done at least one thing for you...you are allowed to TROLL the internet and attempt to lure the unsuspecting bait in. Try voicing your opinions in some of the countries that the troops are currently in and you would find yourself in prison...less...labor camp...or in front of the troops that you disparaged.

You have the ability to cruise the internet and voice your opinion and at the speed that freedom of speech and other western rights we take for granted are disappearing you should realize at least that much. My guess is that you are a young idealistic student without a clue what exactly it means to be free, doubtful you have ever traveled other than to beer keg parties and the beach, certainly not to a country where you would most certainly be in jail for looking at the wrong person.

I have witnessed first hand war, and as a Soldier I can tell you that no one hates war more than Soldiers, away from home family and friends in all types of climates. We may not be protecting your rights but we are at least attempting to provide some fundamental rights to others in this world, so maybe some day a girl can read a book in Afghanistan and go to school, or a young boy can attend school without fear from a roadside bomb.

I have seen children punished for reading books by having their feet held in boiling water, shot because they were in the wrong place. Women who cannot drive, cannot go into public without their faces covered, women treated as cattle or worse than cattle. This world is a cess pool and I and other Soldiers can bring some sort of sanity into it then we shall do just that.

I never asked for your thanks nor anyone else' s so it is not needed, and you can call me a murder or whatever you would like to do and I will gladly fight for your right to do so. Someday you will realize that war is not pretty and that people die including women and children and those who are not suppose to, its just a fact so for now spew forth your insults and rhetoric so you can feel better about doing nothing while children and women in many places around the globe are denied basics rights and die not at the hands of the Soldiers you do not like but at the hands of those who just as well kill you for looking at a forum such as this

1925 -- Japan refuses Geneva Convention ban on biological weapons.
1932 -- Japanese troops invade Manchuria. Shiro Ishii, a physician and army officer who was intrigued by germ warfare, begins preliminary experiments.
1936 -- Unit 731, a biological-warfare unit disguised as a water-purification unit, is formed. Ishii builds huge compound -- more than 150 buildings over six square kilometers -- outside the city of Harbin, Manchuria. Some 9,000 test subjects eventually die at the compound.
1942 -- Ishii begins field tests of germ warfare on Chinese soldiers and civilians. Tens of thousands die of bubonic plague, cholera, anthrax and other diseases. U.S. soldiers captured in Philippines are sent to Manchuria.
1945 -- Japanese troops blow up the headquarters of Unit 731 in final days of Pacific war. Ishii orders 150 remaining 'subjects' killed to cover up their experimentation.
1946 -- U.S. makes a deal with Ishii for germ warfare data based on human experimentation in exchange for immunity from war-crimes prosecution.

I feel the same. As a vet myself I did not serve for medals or parades or thanks.

I did it because it needed to be done. If not me then who?

Would they be as good as I am at the job?

Could I trust someone elsr with my young families future?

Good point Hutch. Beheadings stopped shortly after as well, and, progress was initiated.

In simple terms from my perspective, terror should be dealt with and the troops put their lives on the line to prevent the same coming to 'our' shores.

Kind regards,

Bally

I don't expect or want your thanks, it makes me uncomfortable when people thank me. Because I didn't join for you, I joined for my family, then I stayed because I found a home where I finally fit in.

From reading this thread I see a number of you are blaming the military because of the actions of our government. You don't like us that's fine, but direct your anger at the cause not the instrument.

As an American citizen, what you owe the troops and every other American citizen is to exercise the knowledge, rights, privileges and voice afforded to you by those who came before, to tear the heart out of the corruption in government and the greed and support of those profiting from the military industrial complex who send our military into contrived and needless wars of choice for profit.

You may not feel the military fights for you or your rights and freedoms in these wars, and in fact, many in the armed forces would probably agree with you and have probably done as much if not more soul searching about it than you ever will. And they would also, almost to a person, stand up and fight for your right to say what you are saying here.

But they train and they prepare and do it anyway, because it's their job, a job they took on for a variety of personal reasons, from the patriotic to the practical. They have a duty to perform and an oath to uphold, and do so with amazing discipline and sacrifice in ways most can't even begin to imagine so that they are there and ready should a war come along that you agree with.

You can pay your respect, if you care to, to the men and women of the armed forces, past, present, and future, by simply giving them the same respect and courtesy you would give any person...by not lumping them all into the category of raping and pillaging, unthinking murderers or monsters. And by making sure that those who are sent to war, whether you agree with a particular war or not, are treated fairly and taken care of when they return and that their families are taken care of when they don't.

Aside from that, you don't need to apologize for them, be ashamed of or for them, glorify them, or judge them. Trust me, they don't want, need, or expect you doing anything of the sort for them. They live it, they struggle with the same things you do and far, far more. And they know far better than you know what the good fight and the bad fight is.

Peace,

I blame those responsible for the mass killings, death, and destruction as responsible for the death and destruction they commit, for whatever reason they believe they need to do it for.

Killing and destroying is never progressive for a good future nor will it ever be.

Give peace a chance.
Let our tax money go towards peace not war machines and the killing of hundreds of thousands.

The only way we will ever achieve lasting peace in the near future is with a military.

At this point in our journey we depend on a constant global stalemate, the risk outweighs the benefit of any power atacking another.

There are a lot of other things I could say, but I'm going to stick with Japan as my theme.

"After infecting him, the researchers decided to cut him open to see what the disease does to a man's inside. I cut him open from the chest to the stomach and he screamed terribly and his face was all twisted in agony. made this unimaginable sound, he was screaming so horribly. This was all in a day's work for the surgeons, but it really left an impression on me because it was my first time."

Still think they havent done anything for you? That's part of WHY we dropped the atomic bomb.

I hope we've changed your mind.

No world peace will come by the disbanding of national militaries.

Nothing good about atomic bombs killing hundreds of thousands.

I guess no one will understand until the military is blowing them and thier families to bits and pieces.

You're right! It's been that way since the dawn of time. The troops are not evil, it is human intent that is evil.

I've tried to teach and preach. I hope you see a glimmer of light.

I'd sooner chew off my own arm then sit here and let a member of any military be insulted without due cause. They face the possibility of things that I cannot even begin to dream of and I love them for it.

if you prefer to blame the gun rather than the people wielding the gun that's your choice.

Personally I'd rather never deploy again in my lifetime, I hope peace breaks out all over the globe. But until the people hold the politicians accountable I don't see that happening.

You're welcome to ignore all the things you say people tell you. I see a lot of people here trying to explain why you're wrong. I'm going to take a different approach.

I don't really care about your opinion.

You don't think the armed forces have done anything other than give you a reason to be ashamed. That's fine, that's your prerogative.

We don't think about people like you at all once your little rant is over. You don't make us feel bad. You don't hurt our feelings. We will not be wailing and gnashing our teeth because of your opinion.

We'll just roll our eyes and go about our business. And maybe wink at your girlfriend.

Have a nice day!

Well one good thing its a all volunteer military, they fight so you don't have to. They volunteered so you won't be drafted so say thanks for that. Its a old line but "if you can't stand behind our troops your more than welcomed to stand in front of them".

Oh please that is so trite. I agree with the op. The wars we fight are not for our freedom they are to make money for the military industrial complex. The last couple wars weren't even fought against anyone who had done anything to us. That's correct Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11.

A lesson learned from Vietnam. The draft will kill a war. Just promise a bunch of stuff to those who join.

As someone who has served, I just wish the public were told about EVERYTHING that the armed forces had achieved to help the country.

I'm not so much talking about just the large scale conflicts, I know there are many issues about the rights and wrongs of those....and sometimes rightly so.

I mean the more commonplace but very much behind the scenes work and intervention that goes on. Of all the terror attacks we stopped in S. Armagh, NI, and subsequently right across the province....and on mainland UK...only the odd few were ever mentioned on any news network. I'm talking about things like the Canary Wharf bombings and the likes...the kind of things that bring whole cities to a standstill.

Only then would you know how much the forces have done for you.

I live in the real world. I served so such idiots could voice their opinions and I could voice mine as well.
