Oh look another bash the soldiers thread...same #### different day. Again and again I hear the troops are hired mercenaries for the corporations. They don't fight for our freedoms, they fight for warmongers. Yet at the same time clocking in at the same corporation they are bitching about the soldiers working for.

How about you go live in a country where the wars are being fought and actually witness whats going on instead of believing everything you read on a conspiracy website.

We are part of the British Empire ...

The sun has set on the British Empire.
America being here basically defends the Southern Canadian border.
If we go down ... Canada goes down.

Actually America protects British interests at US tax payers expense. Your Britain's pitbull. Who's dollar is worth more and it is called the LONDON gold fix, not Wall street who do not believe has a bank rep in the gold fix. Canada does (ScotiaBank) but I don't think the US does. The US is getting screwed and Americans believing they run the world is a part of the program.

Oh and just for the record....whilst in service, I never knowingly murdered or raped anyone. So that's another one off the bad soldier list just in case anyone is keeping tabs.

I did get labelled a baby killer by a Jehovah Witness once....but you'll be glad to know that I never killed any babies either.....helped deliver a couple whilst in duty as it happens...but from what I recall, most definitely didn't kill any.

CX.

A Canadian serviceman explained to me that a gunner on a truck is obligated to shoot mother and child if they get too close to the vehicle. There was a problem with women running up with dead or even live babies in their arms and a grenade hidden beneath. He was ordered to shoot women and children in this scenario.

Lethal force in that situation is at about step 7 of the ROE. That's after verbal commands and hand gestures, putting up signs that say "don't run up on the vehicles," throwing flares and smoke grenades, and warning shots, and who knows what else.

And I'm fairly certain that somebody running up on your vehicle with a grenade hidden under a kid, dead or living, isn't coming to exchange high fives.

You know the probably don't understand your commands and you wont ever know if they had a bomb or not before you fire. Frantic parents act frantically some times

You are taught words like stop lay down warning set the child down etc in the native language....do you really think the military expects soldiers that speak English to communicate with Arabic speaking people?

Come on man.

Even their body language is different.

For instance point at the ground is like giving the finger, holding out your hand palm out is not a sign to stop and the bottom of your foot is a huge insult....that is why they throw shoes.

I feel certain that this is the main bargaining chip on the table from Saudi Arabia.

You should read this, and everyone else.

Saudis remember FDR's broken promise

Ibn Saud had conquered most of the Arabian peninsula and consolidated it into one kingdom with the help of the fanatically religious Wahhabi Bedouins, who believed, among other things, that dying in battle was a ticket to paradise, that all images, from pictures to statues, had to be destroyed, that drinking and smoking and singing and dancing were sins punishable by whipping, and so forth.

The US should have never gotten in to bed with the House of Saud.

They are no 'ally'.

Hi ATS,

I am tired of hearing how the troops fought for my rights as an American citizen and that I should somehow owe them anything. Well I don't own them anything and I don't feel they have fought for my rights in any of the wars in the last 100 or so years. I assure you I am not trolling, but hearing about how I need to pay my respects to the men and women of the armed forces because they did so much for me when they haven't done squat. The armed forces are murderers who fight only for corporate greed by raping and pillaging others. Sure there might be good men and women who are veterans, I have nothing against them as people and I know lives have been lost and have been saved, but I see the armed forces as a whole not anything to glorify or commend but only to be ashamed of.

That is all.

Then leave America....I was a solider...fought in a war...I loved my time as a soldier...loved the soldiers I worked with...but I didn't like my government. You have two choices...go make a change or leave. I left...that easy.

Well said.

I know my dislike of Israel is well known...
& it's a questionable ally to have...

But Saudi Arabia top the list for disgusting "allies".

Al Wahab was a lunatic... The whole Wahhabi ideology is an affront to Islam...

& the "friendship" is an affront to the West!

I believe your vitriol is misplaced. Your hate should be directed at the corporate government that plays us all for fools, civilians and veterans alike. Veterans are not inherent murders knowingly serving corporate interests; they are normal men and women that believe in what America used to stand for and wish to serve and give back. Hate the government, by all means. Hate the MIC. Spare the ignorant service members. I used to be one. I'm not anymore for a reason.

The last time American troops actually fought for your freedom in a big war was WW2. The rest was pointless other than doing small conflicts to cripple Soviet Union. Now it is US turn that needs the big change, and it won't happen as long as the elite are in control with Corporate Media. The system is already heading for NWO.

American troops will be sent to conquer and conquer. When they come back, it is too late for the good guys because resistance will be so small. There might be no more countries to help ya out. This is why the BRICS is up. As soon as you see American military finish conquering China/the rest of Asia, it is too late for resistance.

The police can only protect you from physical stuff not religious stuff. They have no idea how to fight monsters. That is when the police should smarten up and armed the citizens. Throw the gun law away. They wouldn't be worrying so much about gangs, if they weren't jailing the most evil criminals(that were proven killers and gang leaders) in the world.

As an American Soldier, We do not ask for you to thank us, or to give us any type of support/appreciation. But please, PLEASE, do not go out of your way to talk bad about us.
We do not come to your work and belittle you about how you provide us with nothing but your tax paying dollars.
We make little money.. We sleep even less..
At the end of the day we just want to go home.. Just like you.

So, Please. Stop.

It's all about respect, nube. Perhaps when you grow up, you will think differently.
It might also do you some good to look back in your family tree and see if there would be a situation where you might not even be here , had it not been for someone who cared about this country.

It's a point of perspective. I agree with you. You don't owe anybody anything. Differing circumstances could have resulted in your being born to an entirely different situation; perhaps "YOU" would not have been born at all. It is a cultural icon, the symbology of the trials and trails and tears of a nation. I remember thinking much the same when I was younger....... "Why should I revere the soliers of WWI, WWII and the Korean War? Well, the answer isn't a simple one.

Wars are the reflection of our collective consciousness of the time. We choose enemies, and we fight them. They choose us back. It's cyclical, imo.

Bravery isn't being fearless, it's doing what needs done when you are scared #less. Many, many people were brave, even as they didn't perfectly understand the violent interactions between their various countries. Honor isn't doing that which is valued, but doing what is right, even when there is nobody to see. Many people did and do conduct themselves with honorable intent.

Soldiers die believing they are protecting you. They willfully sacrifice their life for an ideal, and that ideal is the way of life of your native country. You are not required to revere soldiers. You are required to not denigrate them. It's a moral requirement that remains uninforced.

Wow!

I'm sad that some of you feel that way toward the military. Being a 20 year Navy veteran, I do understand that you have a right to your opinion. Your freedom of speech is because of many wars hard fought that gave you those rights.

I may not agree with you, but I would defend your right to say it to the death.

I certainly don't expect people to bow down and kiss my toes. I was never in combat, but I'm proud of what I did. I got a chance to serve my country. That's what makes me content. I feel sorry for those of you who slam the military.

You pro-military people only prove my point, its so easy to see how unhinged and angered you become when I even challenge the 'sacred' respect that all Americans should owe the military. Are they fighting in the streets for me right now to protect me from the English that righteously did try to take away my rights? No! They are in the streets right now in the form of riot control and police officers stopping me from seeking justice for the likes of Mike Brown and other so called 'American citizens.'

When I comment on how 'heroes' like Chris Kyle are nothing but murderers I am met with rebuttals that I need to be thankful for my right to free speech etc. Is setting a psycopath who admits he enjoys killing "savages" protecting my rights? Oh but of course he is because that is the American way and I should be thankful for this murderer killing innocent people because he is doing it for America. You people are brainwashed down to the level of your religion, Patriotism = Christianity in your minds.

"They were just doing their jobs" No they volunteered is what they did because our government who cares so much about it's troops intentionally takes poor inner city youth and other poor folks and brainwashes them to believe their only escape is the armed forces. I don't have sympathy for the troops because they were not drafted, they didn't wake up one morning with Charlie in their backyard. Yes not all people had poor life circumstances that forced them to join the armed forces but those that didn't volunteered.

This is not early America that I am in need of a military to protect invaders. Do I laugh on memorical day or veteran's day or not care? Not at all, I do care, in fact I don't look at the veterans or men/women who died with gratitude, but remorse that their young lives were wasted to only further American greed. I know men and women who were in the armed forces, they fought to save their brothers and sisters not for some farce, and they came back agreeing with everything I am saying because they realize the lies.

So keep telling me and the fellow anti-military supporters that we are entitled and need to be thankful for our free speech, because what I have seen my government do under the guise of patriotism and protecting my rights is nothing but raping and pillaging other cultures THAT WE HAVE INVADED! We invaded their countries, they should be fighting back, how do you people not see we are the bad guys, we are the terrorists?!

God bless America, land of the brainwashed murderes.
