Is this a cleverly written post to contrast how Muslims are treated by most people?

Oddly, no one (as far as I'm aware) has had a moderator action on this thread.

I'm interested in what you may have to say, providing it doesn't break the T&C.

The thread is about trying to get people to think differently. Thats all. I can appreciate the arguments put forward for gun advocacy etc. But thats not the point of the thread

I can take it from the responses in this thread that even If it was a discussion about gun control some would wade in all guns blazing SHOUTING calling the thread pathetic and such.
Is it he who SHOUTS loudest wins?.
Tell the truth how many just read the title and posted?.

My apologies for not being able to see your hidden message, whatever the hell that might be - Satire doesn't work for me, I'm a literal type of person and what you're talking about, is what you're talking about, not some convoluted, hidden, alternative, whatever meaning.

Why not just make a comparison to whatever you mean, then? If it's about most muslims being peaceful and they shouldn't be expected to apologize for all muslims, SAY THAT.

Oh yeah - The reason I didn't read the disclaimer is because the way you formatted the post, it looks like a signature, which I usually ignore. I'm sure plenty here did the same thing accidentally.

Congrats, you are smarter than you think you are, as you got the point of the satire!

Kinda, yes.

You've introduced another level in there though - the issue has many layers and the point of my analogy isn't necessarily meant to be logical, because the original premise I'm comparing it to isn't logical either.

Another anti gun thread? Sigh.
Bottom line, crazy people do crazy things. Period. We, as gun owners, owe no one an apology. I didn't do anything, so I should not be persecuted for what someone else did. Why didn't the medical community do a better job of identifying the mentally ill? Why haven't the cops kept in touch with the medical community? How do "we" know who is going to snap? The majority of gun owners are responsible citizens, who would no more go on a rampage than you would, but seem to catch all the flack when a nut job does. We can't blame all Muslims for the violence, but we can sure as Hell point an accusing finger at all gun owners. What do we have to apologize for? We have no control over it. Do you drive? Then I expect an apology from every one who does for the wreck I had. You have the same control over other drivers as we have over other gun owners and I expect my apology right this second. Yes, I read the disclaimer. But this subject has been talked to death and brought up every time there's a shooting. There's no quick solution and taking our guns or making us register them is not the answer. I'm sure all the anti gunners will say "turn them in" or "make stronger laws", but criminals don't follow the law and the only ones who do are the ones you didn't have to worry about to begin with.

Deep breath in.....and exhale...............ahhhhhhhhhh

s'not an anti gun thread, go back and re-read ALL of it!

Ahhhh, so very clever now aren't we??

Except that guns are not an ideology. Guns do not get into your brain and make you want to kill people. The book of Gun does not demand people gather on certain days to worship the gun, nor pray 5 times a day to the spirit of the gun.

A parallel to be drawn there is not -Yoda

IT'S NOT ABOUT GUNSSSSSSSSSSS

( I.ll try not to post any more until i.ve read it all but........arrrgghhh! ITS NOT ABOUT GUNSSS)

I don't want to derail the thread anymore - I'll just say that you're correct about the mental health issue, but beyond that, part of the U.S. cultural problem is our insistence on privacy - "don't get in my business" type of attitude that may help sick people get away with more. Maybe we need people to be nosier and get into other's business, especially if we see someone who is in any way suspicious. Maybe in other countries, people don't have as much of a problem getting into other people's business. Maybe in other countries people check up on their neighbors, so they see if someone isn't acting right - and they do something about it if they aren't acting right. Other cultures may not take kindly to the "loner", so if they see one, they may check up on them more. Here, we are afraid to do that, because we feel everyone deserves their privacy, and we don't want to get involved in someone else's business. Except in a small town - I have seen the nosiest people around in really small town America.
Not a lot of mass shootings going on in really small towns either. Hmmmm.

Id say the USA spends billions on background checks on Muslims.

Otherwise what else does the NSA do? Sit on there arses twiddling there thumbs?

That would be illegal and would cause a very large lawsuit against the U.S. government. The NSA can't do background checks on all Muslims simply for being Muslims. However, i am sure they check those people who do travel to the Middle East, whether they are Muslims or not.

Your honnestly that naive you think the law restricts agencys like the NSA or CIA ? Really?

They are a law of there own

The post that you are replying to was a reply to the OP... where the OP stated that guns are an ideology.

Maybe you should have a conversation with the OP and explain it to them.

Politicians lose elections because they get associated with unpopular ideas. It doesn't matter what the truth is. The accusation itself is enough.

This seems to be a flaw with all of us. Just look at how much attention the silly American-Soldier-With-Guitar thread received. The accusation is enough to get people going.

We all have to work together to fight against this trend if we want peace. Another problem is that we are easily offended. If you take this penchant to take offense and combine it with religion then at a bare minimum you have tacit acceptance. It's that much harder to solve this problem if the violence is perceived subconsciously as divine retribution for offending God.

I would say that a person from Britain where they have given up their rights to bear even pointed sticks has little business even starting a post about Right-to-Bear-Arms. The Second Amendment doesn't even apply to such persons.

Perhaps this person would be better off speaking to their own legislatures about creating a thug culture who can now prey on a disarmed populace?

Just posting a hypothetical. You know, just being tropically satirical.

Ding ding ding we have another one!

Maybe stop with the "dey took ourz Gunz derp derp derp" indignation and reread the op as it was nothing about gun control

Getting rid of guns make only for a bigger problem imo.
It's a no win situation wether pro or con on being a gun owner.
Most killing sprees do not involve legally owned guns.

Those Paris cops didn't have guns, and look what happen.

The Criminals had weapons and the good guys were 100% worthless

My two cents
