Lol. he was safe on base. 'Sounds like' it was being played through the base PA… much louder than that amp at his feet was capable of.

The locals probably thought it was an air raid warning.

But if you must disrespect the American Anthem… another generation, a protest, a veteran, and another endless war… Vietnam

Its all good now. Mcdonalds in Ho Chi Minh City

So, we subjugated them after all…

I'd like my Big Mac with a side of agent orange fires and land mine flavored shake.

The guy in the photo.....his grandparents were Cong. Hopefully in Afghanistan in 40 years Taliban will be known for their sending baseball players to the states.

The classic "he mentioned disgusting Zionism so he must be a Jew basher" tactic!

You can sod off & get real.

I already explained to you many modern Zionists are agnostic or atheist much like their father figure Ben-Gurion!!!

Maybe you should study Zionism before you compare it to Judaism.

& you condone genocide disguised as "proportionate response"...

It's the Palestinians who have the right to return fire because of illegal occupation!

Because it's a fact!

You can read my post history from day one and you won't find a single Jew bash post.

Zionism isn't Judaism and only a fool thinks they're the same thing!

i apologize it wasn't a jew bashing thread, it was a thread about dumb a@@ terrorist blowing themselves up practicing for a attack that i got that idea from.

here are the two posts, along with a couple of more that made me think that. it does suggest that you didn't know much about the muslim faith and i could swear that you told me that somewhere.

I'd rather trust my girlfriend who is Muslim, and many other Muslims I interact with regularly than a poet I've never heard of who is "interpreting" how he wants as opposed to those who follow to the word without making assumptions of what Allah meant.
Chatlie's Post

I have read through the Quran, probably 1/3rd overall. However I don't have an Arabic copy, I do have an App for my phone. How well this has been translated is anyone's guess, but the parts I read seemed to be about equality, whether commenting on social issues, or even quotations from Muhammed himself, or what he had been told was correct according to Allah.
Charlie's Post

again i didn't say you were bashing jews, and i apologize if that what it sounded like. but like i said, these post and a couple of others in that thread you sound as if you just started out as a muslim and a girl is involved. but i can't shake the thought in a thread somewhere you told what i posted in the last post.

Lol I remember that thread they were a bunch of dumb asses

I remember mixing up who had been killed if I recall.

Well like I said hound I'd made the decision spiritually long before, already believing in One God, all the Prophets upto Muhammad & the Day of Judgement...

I originally had these beliefs when I believed in a Goddess, if you look at my early threads you'll see a longwinded effort to convey my beliefs at the time...
One reason I came to Islam was because I actually believed in a Goddess, & although Allah is refered to as He or Him, He is never defined as a Man...
I wanted a genderless God...
So that kinda blew my Goddess belief out the window before I'd come to a final decision...
In fairness, despite the longwinded thread, I was also very confused with what was happening to me health wise...

It had all come from searching within without too many texts...
Then I'd read a lot of verses from many Holy books including the Quran and things drew me closer & closer to Islam what with the voices I was hearing and how I came to deal with them...

I already believed them to be a shapeshifting being that could take any form during my meditative States & came to the conclusion that Jinn were a complete match for what I was experiencing.

When I said I'd read about a 1/3 of the Quran that was from page one, like I said I've probably read about 95% but I always used to follow verses that helped me understand what was happening to me at the time.

I also read many Bible passages, but that was more stories and events than how to deal with life in general...
Which is one of the main differences between the Bible & Quran...

They have similarities too, but the focal point of the Bible is stories that are used as a guide...
The Quran is more about seperate situations not always told in story form but rather just advice...

Sorry for the longwinded response, but a lot just flashed back for me.

I can't say my missus was an influence in me converting though, as I said I was already reaching that stage, and she has never pushed me to be a Muslim, her advice was actually to do whatever I felt was right, which was the plan anyways.

Sorry for the diatribe!

I'm glad he did that. It proves a point that Muslims are not the center of the world!

I temporarily worked in a country that is predominately Muslim but is more conservative about it. They blast their prayer songs on loud speakers all over the country. A great deal of people living in that country aren't even Muslim. These non Muslim locals have to live with this repeated broadcast continually.

Why can't they do what every other religion has done? Invite the believers to the house of worship and listen to the prayers behind closed doors.

You were bashing jews....I just added the part about calling me a zionist to make it clear to you which dialog in which thread.

Save your bs for others, all I have seen from you in my time here is dishonesty, and deflection when called on it.

You sir, are not an honorable man imho....my heart hurts for those close to you, your scheming and dishonesty likely cause them much embarrassment and pain.

Being from the US, I'm not cool with this at all... When we are in another country, we show respect to that country and their customs. If citizens there (who aren't a threat) are looking to do peaceful prayer towards their religion, they should be allowed to without loud, obnoxious american's trying to shove our national anthem down their throat... And we wonder why so much of the world hates us.... sigh... I know some find this "cool" and "patriotic", but I find it disrespectful... You are a soldier fighting over there, you don't need to prove your "patriotism" to the world, we get it and appreciate the sacrifice you've decided to make, but if you wanted to make a statement to the world, this was not the right way and I found it embarrassing..

I think people need to understand just how awful "prayer time" really is over there. Think of a massive number of 50s era loud speakers with a million watts going though them creating this god awful distortion, then pumping their prays though them. There was one place where we nicknamed this guy the "Angry Cleric" It was a good 45 minutes twice a day of screaming for everyone to hear...great fun.

This guy is just demonstrating that frustration of listening to it day in and day out....

I don't care what he wears...he's in a foreign country and still has the right to be Free, while he protects your %$#. He wouldn't be there in the first place if we didn't need a military to defend us. Who knows he might have killed a terrorist who would have killed your family. It's time to wake up,people.

Bull#.
1. Dont need anyone to fight for me.
2. Its the MNC's .. corrupt bastards in d.c and whitehall .. halliburton and every other bastard that profits from misery.. death and bloodshed that theyre over there murdering for.
3. My family quite capable of defending themselves should need arise as before adopted them my kids were war orphans dont need arrogant americans to defend us.
4. everytime america murders another innocent around the world they create more terrorists..
5. Was awake long before you were even a gleam in daddy's eye ..

You mean like ring those church bells for 10 minutes straight on sunday morning?

To each their own. We have a lot of mosques in my country and they like to scream through a loudspeaker as well but it's no worse then the noise my neighbor produces when he is working in his garage.

@the OP, I think it's pretty ignorant to do what this guy is doing but if it's not prohibitted by law to play gitar from your rooftop over there I don't have a problem with it. Little inconsiderate to do it during prayer but that's a matter of tact/manners I guess..

Peace

I have this friend who lives almost on the runway of the biggest airport in our country. Every 5 mins. a plane flies right over his house close enough that you could touch it if you stood on his roof.

God awful noise!!!

When I asked him if he wasn't going insane with the noise he said he didn't even hear them anymore...

Maybe it's something like that.

Being in a new place asks adaptation and I think he is going about it in the wrong way. Just my humble opinion though..

Peace
