This is pretty idiotic.

To be fair, I would think this was idiotic in Minnesota too.

All I can say is that nationalism is a viral element as pervasive as the common cold.

If you must receive public adoration and aplomb for your gifts of protection and or charity, why feel the need to wrap it up and put pretty lipstick on it singing it from the rooftops? Just like Sarah Palin described..

Nationalism, and being "right", is a virus. As is the human species itself. Why can't we just look to help one another out?

We can't.

what's sad part about it we wouldn't have gone into Afghanistan, if the taliban would have given bin laden up.
then when we went in they tried to make a deal, they were told no.

They told Bush to provide the evidence showing that Bin Laden was responsible for 9/11 and then they would hand him over. Had Bush really wanted to avoid a war why didn't he just provide the evidence? Could it be that Bin Laden really wasn't responsible for 9/11 and that is the reason he had nothing to show? Or was Bin Laden just a scapegoat for the real reason to invade mainly opium and a oil pipeline.

I use to call the adhan to prayer when I was a youngster caring for a mosque.

It is a ritual that Muslims do hold sacred because the call to prayer is suppose to remind the Muslim of his sacred duty to God.

This would be an unwelcome distraction, indeed.

But of course the Muslims I know would have merely told the guy nicely to stop... nobody back then would hurt the guy.

My sheik would have took him aside and explained to him the importance of the Adhan( Muslim call to prayer) to the practitioner and I am sure after that through reason and understanding he wouldn’t do that again.

We would then have invited the guy in for a cup of coffee and further taught him about true Islam.

Here is the Muslim call to prayer usually called in a slight melodious fashion:

I bear witness that there is no God but Allah.

I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.

Hasten to worship (salat).

Hasten to success.
Prayer is better than sleep.

Allah is greatest.
Allah is greatest.

There is no God but Allah.

Suddenly your posts make more sense.

Alllllllll this.....

Over an article written by a "journalist" still in grad school, who found a video on YouTube that says, without any shred of proof to back it up, that the video was taken during prayer time, despite the fact that times for colors and prayer times don't really match up too well.

Holy crap folks. Seriously. So much for "evidence" and "proof" and "deny ignorance."

What can I say.

Thread on Jan, 10 2015 @ 03:19 PM about a new tactic with Islamists strapping bombs to 10 year old girls still on page one.

Thread on Jan, 10 2015 @ 06:33 PM with American soldier playing national anthem creates ruckus on ATS and is 7 pages in.

It is obvious to me that the Islamists are doing it wrong if they want attention. They need to learn to play the guitar.

OMG that's priceless

they said they would try at first under Islamic law if we showed the proof.
when we started bombing they offer to give him to a third country that would not give in to U.S. pressure. what kind of deal is giving a wanted man to a country that won't hand him over to the U.S.. he was wanted here, not in a "a state that would never "come under pressure from the United States".

what kind of deal is that.

It has become a bit of a free for all...

I did have doubts it was during Salat on the basis that would have made headline news imo.

I stand by my buffoonery accusation though...

Freedom of expression is great...

What defines the greatness of the expression is how it's used.

Saying that if he entertained a few troops and had fun who am I to question him.

I doubt they have much fun over there.

Funny how some Americans don't see this as hypocritical..

Anyone from a different country try this is America during their supposed special time or any time for that matter, these same people cheering this idiot on would be saying.."this is Murica..Go home boy..you don't do that here".

They cry when someone from another country hangs their countries flag...and cheer when an American plays the Anthem in a different country during a special time...idiots.

We allow the WBC to protest funerals. We might call an asshole an asshole, but you're allowed to be an asshole.

There really is no proof that this article is truthful, calm down.

Lol thanks.

I didn't mean it to be malicious or anything...

I've probably been a buffoon before,

I only notice this sort of, erm, patriotism, from certain Americans...

Even our UK patriots are not so gung-ho.

It's usually a cup of tea and the National Anthem, I'm partial to both...

But this just screams Murica, F Yeahhh to me
