Speaking of the Devil....

Known by many names, the Old Serpent and Satan has many faces. In the OT we early on learn about Baal of the Canaanites and his enmity to Jahveh, and later we meet Bel of Babylon and Marduk of Persia, and for the careful observer he is further identified with the Greek variant Zeus in NT. In Ancient Egypt he seems to have been Ammon, and in Rome of course, he is Jupiter. To the Norse he is Thor.

«I know where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is. Yet you hold fast my name, and you did not deny my faith even in the days of Antipas my faithful witness, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells.» [ESV]

Letter to the angel of Pergamum, Revelation 2:13*

Now which huge draconian god had his throne in Pergamum? Ah, too easy, you guessed it. Zeus. You know, the one with the Olympics and enemy of bollocks of all kinds. In the latter part of the 19th century, this throne or rather altar of Zeus was moved piece by piece from the Pergamon acropolis to Berlin (pic from Wikipedia) where it stands to this day:



The Pergamon Altar was later used as a model for "the Throne of Hitler", but Adolf wasn't all that impressed with the size of the Pergamon Altar (but he liked the style), so he had his chief architect Albert Speer make a much bigger one more fit for his own caliber, as if to fulfil the prophecy of John the Scribe:

The Old Serpent is the lightning-bolt hurling adonis of the gods of the Ancient Pantheon (of the similarly Ancient World Empire) identified with thunder and the brightest star in the night sky, the king of the stars or the planet carrying his Latin name, Jupiter, and like his Norse alter ego Thor he has given his name to 'Thursday' only in Latin it reads 'Dies Jovis' or 'Day of Jupiter'. Zeus has been powering and inspiring the empires and their more or less despotic emperors to conquering greatness and epic fall since we first started looking to the stars, wondering who was passing over the sky at night in a fiery chariot, and «Hey, perhaps I'll domesticate a few goats and put up a fence around my garden....»

Well by the looks of his nose. I would say it's not a good idea to bang ones head against a brick wall. But if one bangs on a door long enough it will be answered either by the fool or the wise.

Thankfully I am not THAT ONE specifically named that was wished to have bludgeoned ITSELF into a brick wall. The Turkish Army vs the Sphinx (appears to be a stone knock off of a human needing a beard trim, and/or the sculptor neglected to define the ears). The door (or window to escape by) has ones name written upon it. Door would open into or the window closed would represent flight from/to the dogma of your diabolical choosing *ones soul could be at stake*.

Not saying thier arent corrupted astral beings out there that want to do bad for badness sake, but for us physical fleshy humans its all in our minds.

Gabriel or Hermes maybe, factorizing Neptune as representative of all any 'Whale Wars' Animal Planet episodes; but ONLY if holding a trident in one hand and a trumpet filled with (rancid butter/red paint balls) describing "The Church of the Ocean" (reminds me slightly of). Who is the one in charge that created the Zeus/Jupiter picture; don't tell me, there is yet ANOTHER GOD undisclosed, and what new blames to placed where (creation wise).

Nah, I've broken enough bones in me head as it is, but nice to see that you admit to your desires and that you have gathered some friends and threaten other users with violence? I would say yes its a distraction, in fact if we take a good look at comedy in general most of it involves us laughing as someones suffering, the more suffering the funnier it is. This is social engineering or it could even be genetic engineering of some sort.

Indeed. The womb of humour is suffering. That's why the Jews got all the funniest stand-up comedians I think. Jesus even did an emergency standup in his wedding to save the day when all the wine barrels were emptied too soon. He had his mother serve water while he himself in midrash style and probably quite witty too, explained fresh and clean water as the finest wine in the world. His father-in-law agreed, that Jesus had indeed saved the best wine for the end. And Jesus saved his big day and came out with the honors intact.

Violence; what did you say on another RECENT (still there your words) thread; that you wished I ran my head into a brick wall. So out there a comment from you as am still trying to believe an actual human typed it.

Not only are you rude and and keep stalking me around for no good reason, and now, I thought I was the paranoid one not understanding social code here. I was speaking about opening doors; someone else was speaking of the frustration of unlocking them (doors being a metaphor for enlightenment). How one moves through the passage way/path toward Gnosticism (groking all knowledge) without a self imposed impediment.
